Abstract

The sweeping tide of digital transformation has precipitated a significant character crisis, evidenced by phenomena such as cyberbullying, disinformation, erosion of empathy, and digital narcissism. Contemporary curricula often fail to address these challenges at a fundamental level, tending toward partial solutions that lack a robust philosophical foundation. This study seeks to bridge that gap by formulating a curriculum reconstruction model grounded in Ibn Khaldūn’s educational thought. Employing qualitative library research and a philosophical–conceptual analytic approach, the study examines three core pillars in Ibn Khaldūn’s framework: adab (ethical comportment), ʿaql (critical rationality), and social interaction (ʿasabiyyah/collective solidarity). The findings indicate that these pillars are highly pertinent to the digital context: adab provides a basis for digital ethics; ʿaql undergirds critical information literacy; and social interaction fosters positive digital communities. Building on this analysis, the study proposes an integrative curriculum reconstruction model encompassing principles, aims, content recommendations, instructional strategies, and a holistic evaluation system. The model contributes both theoretically and practically by offering a rigorous framework to cultivate a generation that is not only digitally proficient but also morally grounded, integrous, and socially responsible amid the complexities of digital civilization.

Abstract

Pemikiran Azyumardi Azra menawarkan pandangan progresif mengenai transformasi pendidikan Islam dalam menghadapi tantangan milenium ketiga. Pendidikan Islam, menurut Azra, harus mampu mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai tradisional dengan ilmu pengetahuan modern untuk menciptakan generasi Muslim yang intelektual, berakhlak, dan kompetitif. Ia menekankan bahwa pendidikan tidak hanya bertujuan pada pengembangan intelektual tetapi juga pembentukan karakter dan nilai-nilai spiritual berdasarkan ajaran Islam. Azra mengusulkan berbagai pendekatan, seperti modernisasi kurikulum, demokratisasi pendidikan, dan penguatan sistem yang adaptif terhadap perubahan zaman. Kurikulum yang disarankan mencakup penekanan pada integrasi ilmu agama dan ilmu umum, serta penguasaan teknologi untuk menjawab tantangan global. Selain itu, Azra menyoroti pentingnya membangun pendidikan yang mendukung toleransi, dialog antarbudaya, dan penghormatan terhadap pluralisme. Di sisi lain, Azra mengidentifikasi berbagai tantangan yang dihadapi pendidikan Islam, termasuk dikotomi pendidikan, stagnasi sistem pengajaran, dan kurangnya dukungan terhadap penelitian ilmiah. Tantangan ini memerlukan solusi strategi melalui inovasi sistem pendidikan yang lebih komprehensif dan profesional. Pemikiran Azyumardi Azra memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam merancang pendidikan Islam yang relevan dengan kebutuhan masyarakat modern tanpa meninggalkan akar tradisi keislaman. Dengan pendekatan ini, pendidikan Islam diharapkan mampu menjadi rahmatan lil 'alamin yang tidak hanya relevan secara lokal tetapi juga kompetitif di tingkat global.

Abstract

This research examines the use of the Smart Class application in digital learning in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects at SMP Muhammadiyah 15 Surabaya. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, this research aims to understand how the app affects learning quality and student engagement. Data were obtained through interviews and observations of teachers and students, focusing on the effectiveness and constraints of using the app. The results show that the Smart Class app, which is equipped with features such as animations, E-books and practice questions, has a positive impact on students' learning motivation. Teachers can deliver material in a more interesting and interactive way, although there are some constraints in curriculum suitability. The app has the potential to improve student learning outcomes if implemented effectively with training support for teachers.

Abstract

Globalization has a significant impact on various fields such as economy, social, politics, culture and education. The beginning of globalization was marked by advances in information and communication technology. This has implications for various fields including education. Islamic education faces increasingly complex globalization challenges. In addition, globalization has a major impact on human thinking towards the outside world. Therefore, the principles of Islamic education must be discussed again, to face the challenges of globalization. The purpose of this study is to analyze the challenges of Islamic education in the era of globalization, and analyze the relevance of the principles of Islamic education in facing the challenges of globalization. The methodology used in this article is library research. Based on the results of my research, the challenges of Islamic education include three main problems, namely, the development of science and technology, the dichotomy of knowledge, and moral decline. While the principles that must be realized in facing global challenges such as, the principle of integration and proportional, the principle of human part of rububiyah, the principle of realizing the perfect human and the open principle. Based on this explanation, the author concludes that the basics in religious education are relevant in facing the challenges of globalization if realized properly and appropriately.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran shalat dhuha dalam pembentukan karakter siswa di MTS PP. PERGIS Gandra, Soppeng. Dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan shalat dhuha secara rutin mempunyai dampak positif terhadap pembentukan karakter siswa, terutama dalam hal disiplin, tanggung jawab, dan religiusitas. Siswa yang konsisten melaksanakan shalat dhuha juga cenderung memiliki motivasi belajar yang lebih tinggi dan prestasi akademik yang lebih baik. Namun penelitian ini menemukan beberapa kendala, seperti terbatasnya waktu serta rendahnya kesadaran sebagian siswa tentang pentingnya ibadah ini. Untuk mengatasi tantangan tersebut, disarankan adanya peningkatan sosialisasi tentang manfaat shalat dhuha, integrasi nilai-nilai spiritual ke dalam kurikulum pendidikan karakter, serta pelaksanaan kegiatan kreatif untuk meningkatkan minat siswa. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan karakter pendidikan di sekolah Islam, serta mempromosikan praktik ibadah sebagai bagian integral dari proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

In the reality of implementing learning activities, teachers are accustomed to using conventional methods, where students are less actively involved in learning activities. Students tend to only hear and receive explanations from the teacher without being given the opportunity to express their opinions widely and openly. This study aims to find out about the application of the discussion method in improving student learning achievement in Akidah Akhlak subject at MTs Tonrong, kec. Rilau Ale, Kab. Bulukmba, knowing the advantages and disadvantages of applying the discussion method in improving student learning achievement at MTs Tonrong. The collection methods used in the study were observation, interview, and documentation using data analysis techniques in the form of data reduction and data presentation. The results of this study concluded that the application of the discussion method in learning akidah akhlak in improving achievement at MTs Tonrong is that the teacher takes 5 steps: 1.) Group division. 2) Each group discusses with group mates according to the predetermined theme. 3). The teacher assigns one of each group member to present the results of the discussion. 4) The discussion activity runs. 5). The teacher conveys conclusions and reinforcement of the material that has been discussed. The advantages and disadvantages contained in the discussion method at MTs Tonrong 1). Advantages, stimulating students to provide ideas or ideas, dare to express opinions. 2). Disadvantages, only a few students

Abstract

Mastery of classical Arabic literature is a crucial tool for comprehensively deepening Islamic understanding within the pesantren environment. This study aims to analyze the use of Arabic-language textbook-based learning methods, assess their effectiveness in strengthening Islamic understanding, and explore the perceptions of educators and students at the Pesantren Quran Madrasah Aliyah Markaz Imam Malik in Makassar. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results reveal that instruction is conducted bilingually using standard reference texts such as Silsilah, Nawaqidul Islaam, Shalatsah al-Ushul, Qowaidul al-Arba’a, Mulakhash Kitab Tauhid, Syarhu al-Hadits al-Arba’iin, and Al-Bidayatu fii Ulumil al-Qur’aan through three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. The implementation of this method is considered quite effective in broadening the students’ Islamic horizons. It was concluded that there is a very positive perception among educators and students, where the use of this method has a significant impact on improving the understanding of Islamic knowledge and its application in daily life. This study recommends strengthening the Arabic language proficiency of students so that the acceleration of understanding of advanced texts can proceed more optimally.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan konsep multikulturalisme dalam pembelajaran bahasa asing, khususnya bahasa Arab dan Inggris, di Pondok Pesantren Al Istiqamah Ngatabaru. Seiring dengan perkembangan globalisasi, kemampuan berbahasa asing menjadi salah satu kompetensi penting yang harus dimiliki oleh santri. Pondok Pesantren Al Istiqamah Ngatabaru sebagai lembaga pendidikan berbasis Islam turut berperan dalam menciptakan lingkungan yang inklusif dengan mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai multikulturalisme dalam kurikulum pembelajaran bahasa asing. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, yang mengamati proses pembelajaran, interaksi antar santri dari berbagai latar belakang budaya, serta dampaknya terhadap pemahaman bahasa asing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan multikulturalisme di pondok pesantren ini tidak hanya terfokus pada pengajaran bahasa, tetapi juga pada pengembangan sikap toleransi, saling menghargai perbedaan, dan pemahaman terhadap keberagaman budaya. Selain itu, pembelajaran bahasa Arab dan Inggris di Pondok Pesantren Al Istiqamah dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan yang mengutamakan kontekstualisasi budaya, sehingga mampu membangun kemampuan bahasa santri sekaligus memperkaya wawasan kebudayaan mereka. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam memahami bagaimana konsep multikulturalisme dapat diintegrasikan dalam pendidikan bahasa asing di lembaga pendidikan Islam. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali efektivitas penggunaan media visual dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca huruf Arab Melayu pada siswa sekolah dasar. Permasalahan utama yang diangkat adalah rendahnya kemampuan membaca huruf Arab Melayu akibat keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karakteristik dan kebutuhan siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, di mana data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah guru dan siswa di salah satu sekolah dasar yang telah menggunakan media visual berupa kartu interaktif dalam pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media visual mampu meningkatkan minat belajar siswa, memperjelas bentuk huruf Arab Melayu, serta memudahkan siswa dalam mengidentifikasi dan mengucapkan huruf-huruf tersebut secara tepat. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa media yang menarik dan kontekstual dapat menciptakan suasana belajar yang aktif dan menyenangkan. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media visual memiliki peran penting dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran membaca huruf Arab Melayu secara lebih efektif di tingkat sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Jawi script plays a significant role in the dissemination of knowledge and Malay culture, but it continues to be marginalized, including among the Malays themselves. However, a number of efforts to preserve the script are still ongoing in Aceh, Indonesia. This study aimed to examine the efforts and was conducted in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar, two essential regions in Aceh. The data for this descriptive qualitative study was obtained through observation for three months and semi-structured interviews with nine teachers of dayah (an Islamic educational institution in Aceh) and three government officers. The data were then transcribed and analyzed in three steps, namely data condensation, data display, and data conclusion. The results of data analysis show that the preservation of the Jawi script in Aceh involves two parties, namely the the dayah community and government. The government plays a role in making regulations and policies while the community is involved in the process of using and learning the book wri­­tten in Jawi script. However, the role of the community is considered more dominant and substantial in preserving the script. The preservation of the Jawi script by the Dayah community is carried out through a series of teachings of Arabic-Jawi books to the people of Aceh both in mosques, in the Dayah and other locations agreed upon by the local community.
