Abstract

The research aims were to analyze stakeholder interests in affecting conflict at Lore Lindu National Park, and to analyze the key factor determining in the success of co-management as an approach in Lore Lindu National Park management. The village sample determination was conducted using a Stratified Random Sampling method, while 90 local community respondents were determined using a Systematic Random Sampling method, in which 45 people were taken from villages where the conservation community agreement (KKM Villages) has been established and the other 45 people from villages where there was no conservation community agreement (Non-KKM villages). There were 6 respondents from the Lore Lindu National Park Authority (BTNLL), 3 respondents from non- governmental organization (NGO), and 6 respondents were researcher/academicians determined using the Purposive Sampling method. The results of the study showed that the stakeholder interests affecting conflict at the Lore Lindu National Park were custom land uses within the Park area, boundary pole reconstruction, rattan extraction, illegal logging, and protected wildlife hunting. In addition, the key factors determining the co-management success were stakeholder involvement, negotiation, territory boundary, consensus, clarity of right and responsibility, local community right recognition, and applying the custom punishment.

Abstract

This experiment was aimed to examine the addition of concentrate on dry matter and crude protein digestibility of Bali steers given King grass (Pennisetum purpurephoides). The experiment was conducted in village Oloboju sub district of Sigi Biromaru district of Donggala. Five Bali steers used in the experiment. Their weight ranged from 125 kg to 182 kg. The animals placed on permanent pen with concrete floor. The pen was divided into five plotseach for animal placement and treatment. The experiment design used was a latin square 5 x 5. There was five period, each period consisted of 2 step namely preliminary and data collection period which was 7 day each. The treatment employed 0.0% ; 0.5% ; 1.0% ; 1.5% ; 2.0% of animal weight of concentrate. The basal diet was King grass ad-libitum. The result of variance analysis showed that level of addition concentrate to King grass significantly affected (P<0.01) digestibility of dry matter and crude protein of feed of Bali steers. The higher concentrate level the higher dry matter digestibility of feed. The crude protein digestibility responded quadratically to level of concentrate addition.

Abstract

The research aim was to develop a mass rearing technique of D. thoracicus by means of creating an artificial nest and to apply such technique as means to control cocoa pod borer (CPB) in small holder plantations. The research was carried out using experimental design and survey methods. The research consisted of different stages of experiments: (i) application of the artificial nest in the cocoa plantation, (ii) data record of cocoa pod borer attack level, (iii) analysis of dispersal pattern, and (iv) analysis of the cocoa production. Results of the research showed that the population density of D. thoracicus in the artificial nest sited on the primary branch was 8-9 times (12 % - 15%) higher than that on the jetty stem and main stem. The application of D. thoracicus by the artificial nest for controlling CPB could suppress the percentage of pod borer attack by 5%, bean damage by 42.95% and bean weight reduction by 21.03%. The analysis of dispersal pattern, based on the distribution pattern by Southwood (1997) in which Z<-1.96 or x mean < S2, showed that during three periods of observations, D. thoracicus tended to cluster.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to analyze the composition (mix) industries that have been supported the agriculture sector in Sulawesi Tengah economy. Method of analyses used was Shift and Share analysis. Data used were time series data, such as Gross Domestic Regional Product of Central Sulawesi, and Gross Domestic Product of Indonesia, 2000 – 2007.  The analyses results showed that the agricultures with its subsectors have negative values of the mix industries. The ranking of the mix (subsectors) industries from the best until the worse are : (i) perkebunan; (ii) perikanan; (iii) tanaman bahan makanan; (iv) peternakan; and (v) kehutanan
