Abstract

ABSTRACT In this era, the machining process has been very advanced wich is equipped with advanced technologies. The impact of the machining process used to develop and increase quality and quantity product produce. Machining process wire – EDM (Wire Cutting Electrical Discharge Machining) is one of the non – conventional machining process wich is commonly used in die – mold, disk brake, punch, and cutting tools. The speed of MRR (Material Removal Rate) and the smoothness of a surface has a very important role in a product wich concerns lubrication, wear, friction and resistance problems. Based on the problem, a study was research for find out what variables affetc the response variable. From the result of the study it is known that the current and interpulse affected the MRR, and the current, interpulse, and wirespeed also affect surface roughness. With the RSM (Response Surface Methode) methode optimum result for MRR the fasted 64,5688 mm3/minutes and the surface roughness smoothest 5,2391 µm with the combination variable current is 8 amp, interpulse, 7 µs, and wirespeed 5 mm/s. Abstract

The decline in fuel oil production has led to the development of alternative fuels that are renewable and more environmentally friendly. An alternative fuel that can be developed is biodiesel. In this study aims to develop alternative biodiesel fuels as a substitute for fossil oil fuels that are feasible applied to diesel engines. This study conducted a diesel engine performance test using mixed fuel from pertadex and biodiesel Aleurites Moluccana with a variation of biodiesel mixture B10, B20, and B30. From the test results using a mixture of biodiesel, the ef ective power and torque produced by the engine decreases compared to using pure pertadex. Among the three variations of the biodiesel mixture, the best ef ective power produced by B10 fuel is 277 Watt and the best torque produced by B10 fuel is 1,238 Nm. Specific fuel consumption in all biodiesel blends is increased compared to pure pertadex. Among the three variations of the biodiesel mixture, the best specific fuel consumption produced by B30 fuel is 1197,67 g/kWh. The thermal ef iciency in all biodiesel blends is increased compared to pure pertadex in B20 and B30 blends. Among the three variations of the biodiesel mixture, the best thermal ef iciency produced by B20 fuel is 7,883 %. The opacity of the engine exhaust gas produced in all biodiesel mixes is getting better compared to using pure pertadex. The best opacity of the engine exhaust gas produced in the use of B30 fuel is 2,3% HSU. Keywords: Biodiesel, Aleurites Moluccana, Diesel Engine Performance, Opacity

Abstract

The number of industries that make building, bridge and machine construction are inseparable from the metal cutting process, to produce optimal output, the process is done automatically. Gas Cutting is a metal cutting technique that uses a combination of oxygen gas and fuel. The purpose of this study was to determine the most optimal combination of low carbon cutting fabrication processes with variations in the Torch Speed ​​parameter (mm / min), Oxygen Pressure (Kg / cm2), Nozzle Distance (mm) to produce the greatest MRR using the taguchi method. From the research, the most optimal combination of parameters on MRR is level 3 torch speed of 475 mm / minute, oxygen pressure at level 3 of 7.5 kg / cm2 and nozzle distance at level 2 of 6 mm. with the contribution of torch speed contribution of 87.39%, oxygen pressure of 10.35%, the effect of the nozzle distance parameter of 1.17%.

Abstract

Masalahan penumpukan sampah merupakan hal yang krusial, Bahkan sampah dapat dikatakan sebagai masalah kultural karena dampaknya terkena pada berbagai sisi kehidupan, terutama seperti kota-kota besar. Metode pengolahan sampah plastik yang telah banyak dikembangkan saat ini adalah dengan metode pirolisis, dimana penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguranggi penumpukan sampah plastik dengan mengubah nya menjadi bahan bakar dengan cara memanaskan sampah plastik di dalam ruangan yang terbatas oksigen atau reaktor, kemudian uap dari hasil pemanasan dari reaktor akan mengalir melalui pipa pendingin kemudian uap yang telah melalui pipa pendingin tersebut dapat menjadi minyak bahan bakar yang memiliki karakteristik di bawah bahan bakar jenis premium.

Abstract

Chiller system consumes most energy (around 50%) of the electrical energy in a building. To reduce the use of energy, it is necessary to evaluate the use of energy and identify opportunities for energy savings and recommendations for increasing efficiency. The evaluation aims to ensure that a chiller system works and produces chilled water products as designed. The chiller system evaluation includes the evaluation of the chiller refrigeration system, power consumption, cooling capacity, as well as the evaluation of the piping system and pumps. Evaluation is carried out on the system before and after repairing/descaling on the chiller system. The results of the evaluation and optimization of the chiller system are: the chilled water temperature output drops to 15oC, the cooling capacity of the chiller rises to 30 KW, the pressure of the condenser coolant pump rises to 0.58 bar. While the efficiency of the circulating pump system is 15.8%; efficiency of condenser cooling pump is 19.3% and distribution pump system efficiency is 14.1%. Abstract

Thermoelectric technology works by converting thermal energy into electricity directly or preferably. Thermoelectric technology works by converting thermal energy into electricity directly or preferably. Theuse of thermoelectric as a cooler in cool box systems has been extensively studied. The thermoelectric cool ability can be achieved depending on the design of a good system. Therefore, this study aims to determine the performance of thermoelectric cooler cool box based on single and multi stage. Tests carried out using cool boxes of dimensions of 31 cm x 19 cm x 24 cm witha thickness of 3 cm and with the TEC1 12706 module. The voltage used in each configuration is 12 Volts. Temperature data readings on laptops using DAQNavi_SDK data logger connected to type K thermocouples. The result showed the multi stage configuration reached a room temperature of around 19.3 oC and 21.8 oC for single stage. Meanwhile, the multi stage configuration COP value is 1.36 and with a single stage configuration is0.88. It can be concluded that the thermoelectric configuration has an influence on the performance of the cool box system. Keywords: Cool box, Thermoelectric module, Multi stage, single stage, COP
