Abstract

Movement for a walk is a function that needs to be helped, especially for the elderly because they experienced degradation of function or sick, one of them is degradation of the bodys energy balance. Not uncommon among those who have trouble for walking, that is because the degradation on muscle strength in the limbs, for example, arm muscles, hand muscles, limb muscles, and leg muscles. Moreover, if the condition is accompanied by degenerative diseases such as osteoporosis, Parkinsons, stroke, knee pain, and fractures. A walker, making the right solution. One of the tools is Walker. Walker is an assistant to a very lightweight, portable, high waist, is made of metal pipe, and this tool comes with two handles that serves as a place that used to hold users and is equipped with four sturdy legs as the pedestal. While the power of the framework are analyzed with the help of CATIA V5R14 software is to determine the stress that occurs in order to operate as a walker. It appears that the greatest stress occurs is still under tension permission of the material itself. Stress equivalent (Von-Mises stress) that occurs should not exceed 1.583333e+007 N/m2 while the voltage that occurs on the order of 1.77e +005 N/m2 walker located at the foot of the minimum voltage while working on the framework of the 6.98e-009 N/m2 located on the frame. Key words: walker, von mises stress and framework.

Abstract

Shaping  machine  is  a  machine  tool  used  to  modify  the  surface  of  the workpiece into a flat surface, good story, angled, and the flow corresponding to the shape  and  size  desired.  Shaping  process  is  a  process  similar  to  the  lathe,  the difference is in motion the process of intersection. In the process shaping machine tools with straight main motion back and forth vertically or horizontally. Chisel cut motion  in  a  straight  motion  of  the  workpiece  is  translational.  In  this  case  the workpiece and cutting tool is at rest moving straight translation. At the chisel to move back, move the workpiece also bait (feeding). So your back will chisel stuck in a moving workpiece. Shaping machinery industry in the world used to work on areas of flat, convex, concave, disorderly, in a horizontal position, vertical, or oblique, etc. From the research results can be seen the effect of the parameters used to the chatter values obtained chisel and roundness. Can be seen carving the smallest value of the vibration generated from experimental data 1 is =0.5562 m/s2 at n = 5 m/min, f = 0,2 and a = 1 mm. While the biggest chisel vibration acceleration values obtained from experimental data collection to 27 for = 5,1659 m/s2 at n = 11 m/min, f = 0,6 and a = 2 mm. The results in general that the value of vibration acceleration, after the feeding motion raised the value of vibration acceleration of the workpiece increases, this is because the larger the feed motion is used then the resulting anger is also growing thicker so that the necessary cutting force increases. As a result, the tangential force is also up and cause the radial force and moment coupling. Keywords: cutting speed. feeding, dept of cut,  workpiece and vibration.

Abstract

In any design done must consider the strength of the staff. The strength that must be considered regarding the dimensions, materials, and stick structure. In the previous elderly rod product design, structural analysis found that by just using the help of software, so that the power structure of the stick product has not yet been fully elderly a top priority. This is because the previous data was found that the maximum load that can be received by elderly stick it is 45 N. It appears that the greatest stress occurs is still under the stress of the material itself permits. The voltage that occurs on the order of 6.47e +006 N/m2 located on the handle of the stick while the minimum stress acting on the order of 1.29e-008 N/m2 pipe located at the upper stalk. So the calculation needs to be done manually to review the results of previous calculations, in order to improve and enhance the strength of the product stick elderly. Finite element method is a numerical method used to solve technical problems and a symptom phisis metematis of which include stress, strain, strength, and vibration analysis. This finite element method to compare between the calculations using CATIA software and using the calculations manually. In this case the finite element method to be used is a 2D finite element method (field) is a triangular element with 3 nodes. Using Finite Element Method, the biggest stress on the element 5 with a large voltage of σx = 2.505 x 104, and the biggest strain on the element 3 with a large strain εx = 0.272. And failure obtained Theory states: Maximum Normal-Stress Theory declared safe. Because it is still within safe limits. Maximum Shear-Stress Theory  declared unsafe.   Keywords: stick, stress, strain and finite element

Abstract

The cutting force that reacts to cutting tool and workpieces will result deflection. Deflection is the cause of product deviation and vibration sources that can shorten the life of the cutting tool. Simulation of machining process is carried out to get an estimate of cutting force in some machining process conditions., then compare it to the experiments. The research aims to find out the influence of spindle rotary speed, feed rate and depth of cut on cutting forces in turning process with cutting tool HSS and workpiece Al 6061. This research uses three-dimensional simulation method using Third Wave AdvantEdge software. Following by comparison between the simulation with the experiments results. The simulation was in accordance to the experiments in term of the magnitude of the forces, from the biggest they are tangential, axial, and radial force respectively. Cutting force will decrease with increased spindle turning speed. Cutting force will increase with the rising feed rate and depth of cut. However, the simalution still highly deviate from the experiments at the rate of 71%, 44.3%, and 21.3% for axial, radial and tangential forces respectively. The possible cause of these high errors relates to forces measuring method in experiments.
