Abstract

The research objectives were: (1) to describe the fishermen’s characteristic of economic, (2) to describe the fishermen’s knowledge on demersal fish, and (3) to determine the correlation between an economic characteristic and the fishermen’s knowledge. The data collection was conducted in South Wangi-Wangi sub-district, district of Wakatobi in July through September 2008. The respondents were the fishermen of demersal fish selected by simple random sampling from five villages included Mola Selatan, Mola Samaturu, Mola Bahari, Mola Nelayan Bhakti, and Mola Utara. Data were collected through direct interview using questionnaires. Pearson’s Correlation analysis was used to analyze the data. The results indicated that: (1) the fishermen’s asset, operational cost, and saving define in fewer categories. More than half of respondent had no diversity of business; the respondent income defines in fairly category, while the respondent saving defines in less category. (2) More than half of respondent defines in the fair category on seven component of knowledge, while one another component i.e fishermen’s knowledge of financial capital defines in less category. (3)There were two characteristics of economic that significantly correlated to the fishermen’s knowledge. They were the fishermen’s asset and the diversity of business. The fishermen’s assets correlated to fishermen’s knowledge positively, while the fishermen’s diversity of business correlated negatively to the fishermen’s knowledge.

Abstract

The total area of South East Sulawesi is 3.814.000 hectares, has several superior germplasm. One of that is small eggplant, its called Tolaki Eggplant. Tolaki eggplant growth in several districts in South East Sulawesi i.e: Konawe, South Konawe, Bombana, North Konawe, Kolaka, and North Kolaka. This eggplant has a popular in South East Sulawesi community, especially in Tolaki ethnics. The Tolaki ethnics, called to this eggplant is Palola. So far the identifications to this eggplant not implemented yet. Based on the conditions, need to identifications to Tolaki eggplant. Research objectives to identifications of several aspects ie: plant form, flower form, fruits form, and resistance in storage. Research conduct in Puuwatu sub-district, Kendari City from March to November 2009. The research results indicated that Tolaki eggplant height is 40-60 cm, the fruits from is small and oval, the skin of fruits is grey strip and potential to storage on 6 days in room temperature.

Abstract

A descriptive feasibility study was undertaken that aimed to examine the established of Feed Mill in Southeast Sulawesi Province based on the sociocultural and socio-economic condition. The research conducted at Konawe Selatan District from April until September 2010. Research method consisted of preparation, pre-survey, survey, SWOT analysis, and Socioeconomic analysis. The result of this research showed that established of feed mill at Morome village on Konawe Selatan District was a suitable location. There were support factors as land size, forage sources, and the strategy of position was near with UPTD Peternakan, breeding activity, and area market.

Abstract

Southeast Sulawesi is one of the cocoa center production in Indonesia. The total area of cocoa in Southeast Sulawesi in 2005 is 192,008 ha. Cocoa production in Southeast Sulawesi is 126,813 tones. It is mean that productivity is 1.033 kg/ha. The experiment was conducted in the Lambandia Village, Kolaka in June 2006. The primary data obtained through structured interviews (directed / guide interview) using a questionnaire of 70 respondents, selected on the basis of land ownership strata. Interviews aimed to know the performance socio-economic of cocoa farming from the farmer respondents. Primary data processed and analyzed by economic analysis. The research result indicated that cocoa gives the dominant contribution to the total income of farmer households, which represents 93% of the total farmers' income

Abstract

Marketing activity is a key factor for the success in business. Success or failure of marketing is highly determined by the applied strategy. This research aimed to identify the factors that affect the volume of sales of ASKA Soy Milk and formulate marketing strategies that can be implemented by ASKA Soy Milk industry to increase the sales volume. This research was conduct with descriptive method. Data collected is the primary and secondary data. Sampling was carried out from retailers by using Cluster Random Sampling. The sample of the consumer is taken by Accidental Sampling and the sampling of the competitors is taken by Purposive. Factors that influence the sales volume of ASKA Soya Milk consist of internal factors such as diverse flavors, incomplete label and the simplicity of a packaging, short product durability, discounts for certain purchases, payment systems consignment, transportation for marketing and promotional. External factors that affect the sales volume of ASKA Soya Milk consist of the existence of local and non-local competitors who produce soy milk with a more attractive appearance and durability, the present of better technologies, and consumer loyalty. The strategy can be implemented by ASKA Soya Milk are: optimizing the use of existing marketing transportation, creating variations product size, complete labeling of products, expand the areas of product marketing, giving more alternate promotion, and providing discounts and rebates to consumers.

Abstract

Program of rice intensification implemented since about three decades ago initially had been able to improve the rice productivity manifestly, but since last decade, rice productivity in some locations tended to slope and even downhill. One of the efforts to increase rice productivity is by applying integrated crop management (ICM), an approach participative that considers the physical environment, biophysics, climate, and social economic condition of the local farmer. The study aimed to analyze and to know the income and break even point of ICM application. The study was conducted on Mei – December 2007 in Wawo Oru village, Subdistrict Palangga, South Konawe regency, South East Sulawesi Province at the second time of planting. The result showed that the ICM approach was able to increase productivity 80,30% and gave income Rp 2.47 million/second season/ha by R/C ratio 1,79. The implication of the research was that ICM of rice was very competent to be developed by paying attention to the suitability of agro-ecosystem.

Abstract

The aim of this research were is to farmers Cacao in this cases influence on depending and development technology of application Pestisida Nabati (TPN) in the overcome germ of cocoa. This research is done in Kolaka Regency, with estimated that location is the center of productivity of agribusiness commodity. This research ll’ does in Southeast Sulawesi and the method of research that uses questioner, in-depth interview, and observed in located. Data that gets in the field analysis Quantitative to describing the result of the analysis. The result of research showed that application of technology natural pesticide going to minimize or overcome infection the Germ of Cocoa, and ll’be able to in the breach for product and then all’be improving cocoa of Quality it. There are were showed at the experiment group, quality of grain cocoa with using vegetable pesticide is showed with extra rain. The average of hard cocoa can be to 100-120 grain/gram, and at the control group have to 117-160 grain/gram, this value is showed up of by C to B. It’s meaning application Pestisida Nabati to be able to overcome the germ of cocoa.

Abstract

The subject of this study is (1) to analyze dynamic level in Kurnia group, (2) to analyze linkage farmers characteristic with the dynamic group in Kurnia group, and (3) to analyze linkage of a dynamic group with successful partnership formula. This study was conducted by a survey in Kurnia Group. Technical sampling was determined by purposive sampling. The respondents were 30 people who had running activities in the group. The result shows that firstly, the Generally dynamic group in Kurnia group dynamic. Dynamic group in Kurnia depend of group aim, group structure, task function, training group etc. Successful in partnership show success, it depends on income (86,7%) dan Productivity (90%). Experience of a farmer has a linkage with the dynamic group. Age of respondents, occupation does not have a linkage with the dynamic group. Generally, there is no linkage of the dynamic group with a successful partnership formula. This indicated that dynamic group does not influence the successful partnership formula.
