Abstract

Has been conducting research with the title: "Application of Model Problem Based Learning Approach Scientific to Increase Activity and Learning Outcomes Grade VIIII SMP Negeri 5 Kendari Main Material Plane Simple (Class Action Research in Class VIIIi SMP Negeri 5 Kendari Semister I Academic Year 2014 / 2015) ". This research has been conducted in the first semester of the academic year 2014/2015, which took place on October 1 to October 7 2014 Junior High School 5 Kendari. Subjects in this study were students VIIIiSekolah SMP Negeri 5 Kendaripada semester of academic year 2014/2015 the number of students 35 people. The data obtained in this study is the activity and the thoroughness of learning outcomes derived from observations and test results sheet belajar.Analisis data were statistically deskriptif.Hasil of this research are: 1) the activity of students in the process pembelajan tends to increase, which is shown by the acquisition score on average in the first cycle of 2.45 included in the category enough and rose by 0.65 in the second cycle to 3.1 were categorized as good; 2) learning outcomes VIIIi grade science students SMP Negeri 5 Kendari taught with the application of Problem Based Learning with Scientific approach to the range of scores obtained as follows: the first cycle obtained a score of 1.4 up to 3.7 with an average score of 2, 84 and a standard deviation of 0.44; in the second cycle obtained a score of 2.00 up to 3.85 with an average score of 3.15 and a standard deviation of 0.37; and 3) learning outcomes VIIIi grade science students SMP Negeri 5 Kendari on the subject matter of simple air can be improved by applying the model of Problem Based Learning with Scientific approach, with the acquisition of an average score of student learning outcomes in the first cycle of 2.84 with the percentage of students who has been thoroughly studied by 71.43%, while in the second cycle of the average student learning outcomes increased to 3.15 with the percentage of students who have thoroughly studied by 91.43%

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of temperature pyrolysis to chemical component Liquid Volatile Matter (LVM) cashew nut shell. Cashew nut shell is dried, then pyrolysed in the reactor at the temperature of each 400oC, 500oC, 600oC, and 700°C. Pyrolysed cashew nut shell produces smoke condensed known as Liquid Volatile Matter. LVM volume of cashew nut shell is measured using a measuring cup and the building blocks of LVM characterized using Gas Chromatography (GC). At any temperature pyrolysis, the volume of cashew nut shell LVM is different, each 100 ml, 150 ml, 150 ml and 125 ml. Similarly, the type of compound and the percentage vary at any temperature pyrolysis. LVM cashew nut shell composed of ammonia, hydrazine, hexane, acetic acid, and phenol.

Abstract

The study about sintering stages on alumina ceramics based on densification lines was conducted. The densification curve was taken from previous experimental data. By using a Origin Graphic tools and Coble sintering model,  the  graph  of densification towards sintering temperature was  used  to  analyze  the stages  of sintering. The microwave and conventional methods are compared. The results show that the alumina ceramics has three stages (initial, intermediate, and final stages) of sintering on both method. The initial stage occurs over a range of temperatures of 800°C and 1000°C, intermediate stage occurs at a temperature range of 1100°C and 1500°C, while a temperature range of 1600°C and 1700°C is the final stages.

Abstract

The study to determine crystallinity of silica derived from rice husk ash during sintering by electric furnace and microwave was successfully performed. The crystallinity was determined by using X-Ray Diffraction for every sintering temperature step. The XRD analysis revealed that crystallinity of microwave sintered silica faster than that of electric furnace sintered ones. It indicates that the microwaves have affected atomic diffusion during sintering which result in enhancement of silica crystallization.

Abstract

Research on magnetic susceptibility analysis of leachate of solid waste of Kendari in two leachate  in  order  to  determine  the  value  of  magnetic  susceptibility  and  determine  the magnetic minerals contained in the leachate (leachate). Measurements in this study consisted of measurement of magnetic susceptibility. The results of measurements of magnetic susceptibility values show that the range of values of magnetic susceptibility at low frequencies are mixed. Value of magnetic susceptibility of leachate (leachate) ranging from 3.7 x 10-8m3kg-1  up to 38 x 10-8m3kg-1. Based on the value of the dominant magnetic mineral in each pool of the final disposal (landfill) Municipal Solid Waste Kendari is suspected to have any kind of magnetic minerals hematite (Fe2O3) and Pyrite (FeS2)

Abstract

A classroom action research has been successfully performed to improve learning achievement teaching and learning in the class X-2 of SMAN 3 Kendari . This research is used to answer the question whether student understanding can be enhanced through cooperative learning think-pair-share model . To answer these problems, so in this study focused on students as the main subject. Researcher examines the interests and abilities of students in studying physics through cooperative learning model think-pair-share especially when studying the subject of linear motion with constant velocity and acceleration. The results showed that under evaluation or test the cycle II exhibit that the results of learning physics class X-2 SMAN 3 Kendari increased when compared with the cycle I. Student learning outcomes in classical physics in the first cycle of 60.16 while on  cycle II reached 72.09. By evaluating the results obtained in the second cycle means learning achievement physics students has increased, the study was stopped in the cycle II. Eventhough the  subject of linear motion with constant velocity and acceleration of unfinished taught. Indicators of success has been achieved in this research is at least 80% of students have reached a value ³ 65. Nevertheless, the process of teaching and learning in the classroom to continue until the completion of the subject rectilinear motion with constant velocity and acceleration. Thus, the hypothesis that the action has been achieved by using cooperative learning model think-pair-share, academic achievement of physics class X-2 SMAN 3 Kendari on the subject of linear motion with constant velocity and acceleration can be improved.
