Abstract

The sintering and microstructure evolution of alumina ceramic sintered by a wide range microwave were investigated. Bulk density were calculated by using Archimedes method while the grain size measurements were used to correlate sintering with grain growth was observed by electron microscope. The microwave effects such as an enhancement of densification and shorter time of processing of microwaves compared to conventional case have been found and reported in previous paper. There was also showed microwave frequency dependency of alumina`s densification.  Unfortunately there is no satisfactory theory to explain the phenomena. However the electric field inside sample during electromagnetic heating is believed as the main factor. In this paper further investigation of microwave effect on alumina properties was reported. The effect of microwave on microstructure of alumina is evaluated.  Grain evolution for each sintering methods were evaluated by using image processing on the scanning electron microscopy’s photos of fracture and grinded surfaces of samples. There showed that microstructure of sintered alumina is dependent on the microwave frequencies. Some possible mechanisms were also discussed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk menggambarkan secara deskriptif mengenai kemampuan mahasiswa matematika program kualifikasi baik Diploma-1, Diploma-2 maupun Diploma-3 di Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Jurusan Pendidikan MIPA FKIP Unhalu Kendari yang dilihat dari hasil yang mahasiswa peroleh pada mata kuliah dasar, yaitu Kalkulus I, Kalkulus II, Statistik Dasar, Pengantar Dasar Matematika, Teori Bilangan dan Geometri. Dari hasil penelitian terhadap 272 mahasiswa kualifikasi tersebut diperoleh hasil bahwa kemampuan dasar matematika mereka sudah cukup baik, namun perlu ditingkatkan kualitas pembelajarannya. Untuk itu, dalam pemberlakuan pengajaran mahasiswa berorientasi pada penguasaan konsep serta prinsip-prinsip dasar keilmuan, pembentukan pola pikir, serta ketajaman analisis sintesis, sehingga mampu mengembangkan segala hasil pembelajarannya lebih lanjut. This research was conducted with the aim to illustrate the descriptive about the ability of a good math student Diploma qualification program-1, Diploma-2 and-3 Diploma in Mathematics Education Study Program Guidance and Counseling Department of Mathematics and Science Education Unhalu Kendari is seen from the results that the students get the basic subjects, namely Calculus I, Calculus II, Basic Statistics, Introduction to Basic Math, Number Theory and Geometry. From the results of a study of 272 students of the qualifications obtained results that basic math skills they've been pretty good, but needs to improve the quality of learning. To that end, in the implementation of a student-oriented teaching mastery of concepts and basic principles of science, the formation of mindset, and sharpness synthesis analysis, so as to develop any further learning outcomes.

Abstract

Pada tulisan ini dikemukakan berbagai hal berkaitan dengan pemecahan masalah dalam pembelajaran matematika. Dalam pembelajaran matematika banyak masalah yang muncul baik itu dihadapi oleh mahasiswa/siswa maupun oleh pengajar matematika. Masalah tersebut tentu harus diselesaikan secara tuntas dengan langkah-langkah yang tepat. Dalam tulisan ini dikaji teori tentang masalah dan langkah-langkah pemecahannya yang diakhiri dengan penjabaran suatu contoh bagaimana menyelesaikan suatu masalah dengan langkah-langkah pemecahan sesuai dengan teori yang ada.
