Abstract

Mangrove is a plant that lives in intertidal areas. Mangroves are generally used as building materials, boats and household utensils. However, at this time several types of mangroves have been developed and utilized as food ingredients, cosmetics, and medicines. This utilization is inseparable from the content of bioactive compounds contained in it. The aims of this research was to identify bioactive compounds of Rhizophora sp. at Pulau Morotai. The method used to obtain the extract was maceration using methanol. Qualitative identification of types of bioactive compounds using chemical detectors. Bioactive compounds identified include flavonoids, alkaloids, steroids, and saponins. The highest yield of methanol extract was obtained from bark (13,1%) with dark green extract color, followed by root extract (9,2%)with blackish yellow color and the lowest yield was found in methanol extract of leaf (2,7%) with blackish-green color. Bioactive compounds identified as Rhizophora sp. leaf samples contain bioactive compounds saponins and steroids. Bark contains bioactive compounds alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins and steroids, and roots contain bioactive compounds saponins and steroids.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of fermentable carbohydrates in rice straw ammonia as an environmentally friendly ruminant feed and digestibility in the rumen in vitro. The experiment was carried out using 1000 g of dry material of rice straw, 2% fermentable carbohydrates, 4% urea, and 10% water. The balance of fermentable carbohydrates in ammoniated rice straw with a concentrate of 40: 60 and divided into four treatments, that is R0: rice straw without fermentable carbohydrates, R1: onggok, R2: cassava, R3: bran and R4 waste vermicelli with five replications. Data were analyzed using honesty significant different. The results showed that the highest digestibility of dry matter was found in group R3 (44.8013%) and the lowest in the R4 group (41.9795%). The highest digestibility of organic matter was in the R3 group (47.4450%) and the lowest in the R4 group (43.1665%). Based on the results of the study that the increase in KcBK, KcBO feed was far better than the R4 group. The use of fermentable carbohydrates increases KcBK and KcBO in the rumen. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the amoniation of rice straw added to the feed additive does not interfere with rumen fermentation activity in vitro.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the comparison of Penaeus merguiensis catches and the influence of environmental factor on Penaeus merguiensis catches in the waters of the Kumbe and Kaiburse beaches in the Malind District of Merauke Regency. This research was conducted from May-June 2019. The method used in this research is survey method. Data analysis to determine the effect of environmental factor on the presence of Penaeus merguiensis was carried out t-test using SPSS 22 program. The results obtained in the comparison of Penaeus merguiensis catches at 115.2 kg Kumbe while at Kaiburse at 123.8 kg. The total catch of Penaeus merguiensis in Kumbe and Kaiburse is 239.0 kg. The results showed that the temperature of theb waters affect the catch of Penaeus merguiensis.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the physical characteristics and organoleptic values of deer meatballs mixed with kapok banana weevil flour (KBWF). The method study used an experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments 3 replications, namely A0 = 100% tapioca flour (TF), A1 = 25% KBWF + 75% TF, A2 = 50% KBWF + 50% TF, A3 = 50% 75 KBWF + 25% TF, A4 = 100% KBWF. Parameters observed included tests of physical characteristics (analysis of water content, cooking losses of water and pH) and organoleptic tests (color, aroma, taste, elasticity, texture). The results of the physical characteristics testing of deer meatball cooking shrinkage with the addition of KBWF had no significant effect and cooking losses were still within the normal threshold (1.55-2.22). The water content of deer meatballs added with KBWF had no significant effect and was still at the level in accordance with SNI meatballs (53.37% -66.67%). The pH value added by KBWF has no significant effect and is still within the permissible pH level (5.50-5.83). Organoleptic test results showed that the addition of TBP had a very significant effect (P <0.01) on color, aroma, suppleness and texture.

Abstract

Semangga District is a very potential area for the development of duck farming because most of the area consists of paddy fields. This study aims to identify the potential development of duck farming and analyze alternative strategies for developing duck farms in the Semangga District. This study used qualitative research methods. Data collection by in-depth interview, observation and document study. Data is processed using a SWOT analysis. The results showed that the Duck Farm System in the Semangga District used a Semi-Intensive System. This can be illustrated through several factors namely housing, nursery, care/maintenance, food, disease control, marriage, and harvesting. Identification of the potential development of duck farming includes internal factors and external factors. Alternative strategies that can be carried out for the development of duck farming in the Semangga District are to collaborate with related agencies to improve knowledge and technology in business development, expand business land by utilizing the support provided, form breeder groups, provide knowledge of feed technology, provide information / training for breeders, utilize capital assistance to develop businesses, evaluate and improve business management and foster or cooperate with other institutions to develop businesses.

Abstract

This study aims to increase the weight gain of peanut goat and the effect of the use of sago pulp waste fermentation on consumption (efficiency), palatability of feed ingredients provided and digestibility of dry matter. Quantitative research methods using a randomized block design (RAK), and analysis of variance and t-tests were performed. The results showed that body weight gain of 20% goat beans and 30% sago pulp fermentation in male goats had a significant effect on body weight gain, obtained 20%= 7.05 kg and 30% = 12.3 kg. Female goats control body weight better at 6.7 kg followed by 30% sago pulp fermentation treatment of 5.7 kg and 20% = 4.48 kg. The significant difference in 30% of male and female goats (P <0.05) ie 12.3kg and 5.7 kg. Consumption of bean goat feed at 30% treatment, 23,680gr grass + sago pulp.250gr better than control, 22.370gr grass. The treatment resulted in a body weight effect on feed efficiency between 7.25% -13.31%. Goat male beans increased the digestibility of dry matter in the treatment of 30% significantly different, namely 63.25%. Female goats did not show a significant difference of 30% (59.40%). The addition of 30% sago can increase bodyweight, so can be used as substitution food in the dry season.
