Abstract

The study was conducted to identify the optimum Zn formula that could be added to dose 300 kg/ha NPK fertilizer with the additional 200 kg/ha urea, organic fertilizer 500 kg/ha and its implication on Zn nutrient uptake and paddy production.  Generally, paddy cultivation practices applied macro-synthetic fertilizers without returning crop residues and organic materials as a soil conditioner as well as to provide micronutrients. In addition, the accumulation of P in the soil is pressing the availability of Zn, at neutral pH to alkaline Zn is not available and relatively mobile, when the soil is waterlogged Zn would be settled, and usually Zn is never be fertilized. Moreover, the land is intensively used for the manufacture of bricks and tiles indicate experiencing Zn depletion will cause symptoms on leaves of rice plants reduced toughness, pale green after 2-4 days later on flooded would be krotik and dried up. The research of fertilization innovation on micronutrients were conducted on July 2014 – January 2015 in Green House Agriculture Faculty, the University of Gajah Mada where the planting media of this research was Inceptisol which taken from Kebumen. The treatment were 10 treatments with a dose of NPK Plus Zn 0.25% Zn content ranges from 0% to 2% Zn repeated 3 times using a complete randomized design (CRD). The results showed that the land was given an additional 1.75% Zn has provided the highest Zn content of 0.16 mg/kg with a content of Trubus tissues Zn 68,38 mg/kg. Whereas in the control treatment had the lowest score is 0.07 mg/kg with Zn content of trubus tissue was 47.85 mg/kg. Not seen an increase in yield due to the additional provision of 2% Zn to the dose of NPK fertilizer plus Zn were given, but the tendency dose of 1.75% Zn gives the highest production yield with and extrapolated enough to the total population reached 9.96 tons/ha while in control was only 3.45 tons/ha.

Abstract

This study aimed to know the best concentration of Liquid Organic Fertilizer enriched  with Rhizobacteri Osmotolerance to enhance plant growth and yield of rice in drought stress conditions. This research was conducted using single factor experiment arranged in a completely randomized design (RAL). The treatments tested are concentrations of POC 5 ml / l + NPK fertilizer 50% recommendations, POC concentration of 10 ml / l + NPK fertilizer 50% recommendations, POC concentration of 15 ml / l + NPK fertilizer 50% recommendations, POC concentration of 20 ml / l + NPK fertilizer 50% recommendations, and NPK fertilizer 100% recommendations with three replications. The results showed that Liquid Organic Fertilizer enriched with Osmotoleran Rhizobacter can reduce NPK fertilizers until 50%. Liquid Organic Fertilizer concentration of 15 ml / l + NPK fertilizers 50% tend to improve the growth and production of Ciherang rice in drought stress conditions.

Abstract

Identification of fruit flies of dragon fruit in Tanah Laut has never been conducted. This research was aimed to identify fruit flies species of dragon fruit and its natural enemies in Batu Ampar, Tanah Laut, Kalimantan Selatan. The fruit flies attacking dragon fruit in the field was collected. Observation was performed on the development of the larvae until adult and finally emerging adult was identified as well as its parasitoid. The result showed that the obtained fruit flies was Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel and Aceratoneuro myiaindica (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae: Tetrastichinae) was found as the parasitoid. Five predators was found as its natural enemies, namely red ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae: Solenopsis), rangrang ant (Hymenoptera: Formicidae: Oecophylla), spiders (Arachnida), kumbang stafilinid (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Paederinae) and earwig (Dermaptera: Forficulidae: Forficula).

Abstract

Vertisol is a soil that has neutral to slightly alkaline pH. Zinc availability decreases with increasing pH. The existence of symptoms micronutrients scarcity, especially zinc, also caused by the use of highly yielding seeds with unbalanced fertilization. In addition, Zn uptake by plants is sustainability process which resulted in a decrease in nutrient levels of Zn in the root zone. The aim of the research was to determine the optimum Zn formula that can be added to the NPK compound fertilizer and to determine the effectiveness of the fertilizer on the growth and yield of rice. The experiment was arranged by completely randomized block design with 10 treatments and 3 replicates of each treatment. NPK compound fertilizer dose was given 300kg / ha. The result of this study showed that the compound fertilizer NPK + Zn had no effect on plant height, number of tillers and weight of the plant. The additional dose compound of 2% Zn to the dose of compound fertilizer NPK + Zn did not increase the yield. There was a tendency NPK treatment +0.75% Zn deliver the highest results. NPK compound fertilizer application + Zn significantly increased the uptake of Zn.

Abstract

The experiment entitled the effect of using composisition rice residues and animal manure for media utilization on growth seedling of Virginia tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) in seedbad was conducted to determine the approriate kind of rice residues and animal manure for seedbad for Virginia tobacco. The experiment was conducted at Pakis, Delanggu. The factorial experiment was arranged in the Complete Randomized Design with 12 combinations of treatment. The first factor was kinds of rice residues consisted : rice Straw, rice chaff, and rice bran. The second factor was kinds of animal manure consisted of manure of cow, manure of goat, and manure of chicken. The results of experiment showed that combination of rice straw and manure of chicken is the best treatment for seedling the Tobacco Virginia.

Abstract

The eruption of Mount Merapi had been giving adverse effect for the community, but on the other hand, there are great benefits in it such as the enrichment back to the land. Enrichment process in land with materials that are rich in nutrients is often known as rejuvenation. In general, the rocks containing certain minerals or mineral assemblages, which has large amount of the potential nutrient that can be used by plants in the form of weathered minerals. Therefore, it is a big question about the relationship between primer mineral deposits on Mount Merapi volcanic material with the potential nutrient for crop. The results showed that the identification of Merapi pyroclastic material derived from basaltic andesite magma with primary mineral content easily weathered the dominant form of plagioclase. Utilization of volcanic material as macromineral is easy to use, because the nutrient content of the existing potential in minerals included in the group of minerals that easily weathered.

Abstract

This research aims to study the effectiveness of coconut fibre ash as an additive nutrient for growth and yield of Broccoli (Brassica oleracia L.), and to determine the best combination between manure and coconut fibre ash in organic farming of Broccoli. This research conducted using single factor experiment that arranged in Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD). The treatments are (1) Manure 0,75 kg + Coconut fire ash 24,3 g (2) Manure 0,75 kg + Coconut fibre ash12,15 g, (3) Manure 0,75 kg + without Coconut fibre ash, (4) Manure 1 kg + Coconut fibre ash 24,3 g, (5) Manure 1 kg + Coconut fibre ash 12,15  g, (6) Manure 1 kg + without coconut fibre ash, (7) Manure 1,25 kg + Coconut fibre ash 24,3 g, (8) Manure 1,25 kg + Coconut fibre ash 12,15 g, (9) Manure 1,25 kg + without coconut fibre ash. The result showed that the combination between manure and coconut fibre ash have not significantly different in number of leaves, flowering time, fresh weight, flower size, fresh weight of flower. However, the combination between manure 1,25 kg and coconut fibre ash 24,3 g is considered to be the most efficient in organic farming of Broccoli.

Abstract

Modern agriculture is very closely related to the application of fertilizer to induce plants grow. The application of bio-fertilizers is expected to reduce the negative impact of chemical fertilizers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of multi-functional Azospirillum N2 fixation, P solubility and IAA production on the growth of Ciherang rice in pot experiment in greenhouse BB Biogen. The experiment treatment were 3 types of inoculation (non-inoculation, inoculation using wildtype Aj Bandung 6.4.1.2 and the mutant isolate of AJM 3.7.1.14 ), and 4 levels of fertilizer application (non-fertilization, a quarter dose, a half dose, and the real dose of fertilization on rice in lowland). The Azospirillum isolates were used wildtype isolate Aj Bandung 6.4.1.2 and mutant isolate AJM 3.7.1.14 that was isolated and mutated using ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS) in BB Biogen. Seeds of Ciherang rice were inoculated using Azospirillum at cell density 106 cell/ml in different seedling tray. After 14 days, the seedlings were transferred to planting pots which consist of 3 plants per pot. Parameters observed were plant height, number of tillers, number of panicles per hill, wet and dry weight of panicles per hill, weight of 100 seeds, N and P content of the stover. The results showed that both wild-Azospirillum and mutant inoculum had no effect on the vegetative growth of Ciherang, but showed significant effect on the number of panicle per hill, grain weight per hill and dry weight of seeds per panicle. The use of Azospirillum and N fertilizer combination affected the growth and rice yields, also reduced chemical fertilizer application.
