Abstract

This study aims to examine the factors that affect the capital structure. The task of the financial manager is to determine the amount of capital structure to enhance shareholder value. Since the capital structure associated with firm value , this study also aimed to examine the effect of capital structure on firm value by considering the company's diversification strategy and corporate life cycle stages . By using the data obtained from the OSIRIS period 2009-2012, researchers used multiple regression test and path analysis to test the hypothesis. From the test results stated that only companies which are in the start-up phase which has a significant positive effect on the capital structure , as well as the diversification strategy has an influence on the capital structure of the company's capital structure with a sequence of related diversification > unrelated diversification > single segment. But when regressed diversification strategy with corporate values, only a single segment strategy and related diversification which significantly affect the value of the company, as well as the positive effect of capital structure on firm value. Most of the results of this study can be explained by the signaling effect and the pecking order theory.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the impact of the debt policy, dividend policy, and the profitability of each proxied by DER, DPR and ROE thru the investment opportunity set with CAPBVA as the proxy. The population of this research is a trade service company, services and investments which are listed on the Stock Exchange. The sampling method used is purposive sampling, 19 companies are selected as research objects with 76 samples of data involved. Data analysis technique is used multiple linear regression analysis. The analytical tool used to process data is E-Views 8.0. The results of this research showed that the DER and DPR has a significant negative effect on IOS, while ROE has no significant effect on IOS. The influence proportion of the independent variables can explain IOS by 16.38 percent, while 83.62 percent is explained by other variables outside the research model.

Abstract

Business Competition encourages entrepreneurs to have competence in managing the business. Start-up businesses will grow if it is able to manage the internal factors and external factors well. This study focuses on internal factors from the perspective of companies consisting of four components, namely marketing, human resources, finance, and operations. The second focus of this study is the external factor of a business seen from the approach five forces Porter lists five essential components of the external factors, namely: barriers to entry in the industry, threat from substitute products, threat from suppliers bargaining power, threat from buyers bargaining power, Among existing industry and rival firms. The object of this study is a start-up business in the city of Surabaya. This study used descriptive qualitative method with the aim of optimizing the management view of internal and external factors in the success of a start-up business seen from the perspective of the company. Validation of the results using triangulation techniques using: parisipatif observation, interview, and documentation (photos and interviews) to the informant (object) research. The results showed the management of internal factors (marketing, human resources, finance, and operational) and external (barriers to entry in the industry, threat from substitute products, threat from suppliers bargaining power, threat from buyers bargaining power, and rival Among existing industry firms ) is an important component that must be optimized in order to support the success of start-up businesses.

Abstract

The cigarette industry in Indonesia has evolved from a traditional industry to be one of the important manufacturing sectors in terms of value added, employment and government revenue. On the other hand, aside from increasing social welfare, the government also has a moral responsibility particularly for raising public awareness of their health. Draft of Government Regulation regarding tobacco based-product as an addictive substance expressly prohibits the advertising, promotion and sponsorship of products containing tobacco. In the industry of mild class cigarette, the level of competition gets tighter where many cigarette companies conduct their integrated marketing communication activities in creative ways. This research is aimed at determining the effect of Integrated Marketing Communication variables on Brand Image of mild class cigarette companies in Bandung region. This research type is descriptive and verification research. The method used is survey descriptive method i.e collecting data on the research object by taking a sample of the population. Questionnaires are used as the principal means of collecting data. The positive coefficient shows that there is a positive relationship between the integrated marketing communications with brand image. As t count > t table (7.748> 1.965), H0 is rejected. Thus, it is found that there is a significant influence of integrated marketing communications on brand image.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problems related to the marketing mix Ina Cookies. Those problems based on the results of the initial interview is indicative of consumer complaints related to marketing mix consisting of product, price, place and promotion. This study aims to determine the effect of marketing mix consisting of product, price, place and promotion on purchase decisions.The method used is quantitative method with descriptive research and causal. Source data using primary and secondary data, sampling techniques using Non Probability sampling with incidental sampling with the number of respondents as many as 400 people. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis.The results showed that the mix of marketing and consumer purchase decisions on Ina Cookies included in either category. The marketing mix consists of product, price, place and promotion simultaneously or partially positive and significant impact on purchasing decisions.

Abstract

The imbalance between job seekers and job opportunities cause an increase of unemployment rate in Indonesia. Thus make Universities try to increase entrepreneurship intention among students. Universities try to give support such as giving entrepreneurship education to students. This research examines whether entrepreneurship education has positive effects on entrepreneurial intention. Besides, this research examines whether attitudes towards entrepreneurship, perceived support and also fear of failure have effects on entrepreneurial intention among students. The data was collected using questionnaire instrument obtained from 254 respondents of Students of Management, Faculty of Economics and Business Airlangga University in Surabaya. The results of this study are expected to give some input for the University to increase the entrepreneurial intention among students.
