Problems that occur in Indonesia that until now have not been resolved are related to labor absorption. The large number of job seekers who are not proportional to the number of available jobs makes unemployment increase. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect labor absorption in Sidoarjo Regency using three independent variables, namely economic growth, domestic investment, and district minimum wage. This research uses quantitative research methods with time series data over 15 years, starting from 2007 to 2021. The method used is multiple linear regression. The analysis tools used use IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The results showed that economic growth, domestic investment, and the district minimum wage together (simultaneously) had a significant influence on employment in Sidoarjo Regency.

Abstract

This research examines the broader sociological impacts of economic digitization on contemporary networked societies in Indonesia, amidst the accelerated social transformation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Through literature review, it discusses how information and communication technology has become the primary enabler across various sectors of life, influencing consumer behavior and reshaping business structures. The research findings reveal that economic digitization not only redefines social interactions and business organization but also leads to the emergence of new phenomena in power dynamics, inequality, and social identity. The transition to technology-based business models also poses challenges in privacy, data security, and digital divide aspects. This article emphasizes the importance of inclusive policy responses to address sociological disparities and maximize digital economic opportunities. The research contributes significantly to contemporary sociology studies by highlighting the importance of equitable digital infrastructure development and digital literacy to ensure inclusive socio-economic sustainability in the networked era.

Abstract

The decision on how much the company contributes to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) related activities is influenced by President's characteristics and the company ownership structure. Present study was undertaken to investigate the effects of the President's busyness and tenure, as well as the ownership structure of family companies, on the ESG scores of companies in Indonesia. The present study used 221 observations from 50 companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange and Refinitiv ESG Scores database from 2016 – 2020 and analyzed them by the Regression method. The findings suggested that companies that have busy presidents or CEOs and family ownership structures give low ESG scores. While the authors do not find sufficient evidence to support the President Director serving more than five years has a good influence on ESG scores. It is because family companies tend to focus on enriching their families. Companies can limit the number of concurrent positions held by the President and recruit a President who has extensive experience. This study contributes to investigating the correlation between ESG scores with the President's concurrent positions and the company ownership structure.

The practical implication of the results of this study is that the role of IFR as a mediator occurs when the company has the completeness of IFR elements, namely content, technology, time feasibility, and convenience for users. The role of IFR is very important to be able to increase the value of the company by giving positive signals to investors who make decisions. Companies must pay attention to elements of technology and user support so that IFR can function optimally to increase firm value.
