Abstract

Synthesis Methyl Ester Sulfonate ( MES ) from Karet seed oil methyl ester (Havea Brasiliensis.) through sulfonation reaction have been carried out. The results showed Karet seed oil content 46,45%, acid value 9,79623 mg KOH/ g oil and ALB levels of 4,92343%. First Bintaro seed oil is converted into methyl esters through an esterification process with variation of oil and methanol ratio at 1 : 6 using 4 % H2SO4 catalyst, in order to obtain a decrease in acid number of 3,60333 %. The results of GC-MS analysis showed the composition of the most dominant methyl ester is methyl linoleate by 34,19%. Synthesis sulfonation performed by reacting of methyl ester with variants 40%, 60%, and 80 % H2SO4 at a mole fraction ratio of 1 : 1.4 by varying the length of sulfonation time of 90 minutes, purification was performed using methanol 60 % v/v and H2O2 3 % v/v, with neutralization using 20 % NaOH. Sulfonation process is done using methods reflux. The optimum condition of synthesis of MES is sulfonation time reaction at 90 minutes, with the acquisition value of the voltage drop in the water level of 46,7728%. FT-IR spectra provide specific absorption peak for the group -C - O of an ester which characterize the existence of the MES as an ester compound at wave number 1168 cm- 1. Abstract

Santa Barbara Acid-15 (SBA-15) merupakan material mesopori yang berpotensi sebagai pengemban katalis dan adsorben. Pembentukan SBA-15 umumnya menggunakan TEOS (tetraetilortosilikat) dan TMOS (tetrametilortosilikat) sebagai sumber utama silika. Sumber silika alternatif yang mulai dikembangkan pada pembentukan SBA-15 adalah limbah biomassa yang memiliki kadar SiO2 tinggi. Telah dilakukan review tentang karakteristik fisik dan kimia SBA-15 berbasis limbah seperti abu daun bambu petung, abu sekam padi, jerami gandum, abu daun tebu, abu terbang batubara dan tambang tailing, sebagai sumber utama silika. SBA-15 dari berbagai jenis limbah memiliki struktur heksagonal yang memiliki luas permukaan yang tinggi (411 – 955 m2/g), volume pori besar (0,50 – 2,89 cm3/g) dan, diameter pori besar (4,8 – 14,2 nm). Pola XRD SBA-15 berbasis limbah menunjukan tiga puncak dengan nilai indeks miller 100, 110 dan 200. Morfologi SBA-15 bervariasi seperti struktur cylindricals, struktur fiberlike dan struktur rods. Spektra Inframerah SBA-15 menunjukan adanya gugus fungsi yaitu Si-OH dan Si-O-Si. SBA-15 dari berbagai jenis limbah memiliki karakteristik fisik dan kimia yang dapat dibandingkan dengan SBA-15 dari TEOS dan TMOS. Kata Kunci : SBA-15, limbah, TEOS, TMOS.

Abstract

Penelitian isolasi, pemurnian, identifikasi dan uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode peredaman radikal bebas dari fraksi etil asetat daun ekaliptus (Eucalyptus deglupta Blume.) telah dilakukan. Tahapan penelitian adalah ekstraksi secara maserasi dengan menggunakan pelarut n-heksan, etil asetat, etanol 96%, dan air secara refluks. Pemurnian dilakukan dengan kromatografi kolom (SiO2, : n-heksan : etil asetat = 10:1 ~ 1:1). Identifikasi dilakukan dengan pengambilan data kromatografi gas-spektrometri massa. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan menunjukkan bahwa isolat F3.3 mempunyai persen inhibisi sebesar 1,93 % (tidak aktif). Hasil analisis kromatografi gas–spektrometri massa di duga senyawa kimia pada ekstrak etil asetat daun ekaliptus (Eucalyptus deglupta Blume.) adalah senyawa terpenoid 6, 10, 14-trimetil. 2-pentadekanon. Abstract

A research to find out the secondary metabolite compounds contained in theleaves of terap (Artocarpus elasticus) and its toxicity of terap leavesextract has been done by using Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. Toxicity was conducted for prawn Artemia salina Leach of 48 hours age. Toxicity data were obtained from Lethal Concentration 50% (LC50) with percentage of death of prawn larva and counted by probit analysis SAS. The result showed that 5thn-hexane fraction was more toxic than another extract with LC50 values 71.887 ppm and furthermore, the bioactive compound of 5thn-hexane fraction was probably to be either steroid compound. Abstract

A research about the utilization of red dragon fruit extract (Hylocereus polyhizus) as reducer of Fe (III) metal ions has been done. This research aims to determine the optimum condition of reducer solution of dragon fruit extract to reduce Fe (III) metal ions based on variation of Fe solution concentration and also ph variation with Na2S2O3 reductant as comparison. The results showed that the optimum concentration of the dragon fruit extract reducer agent could reduce Fe (III) metal ion to Fe (II) at a concentration of 10 mg / L, Fe reduced as much as 1.187 mg / L, while the optimum pH is at pH 5 when Fe reduced of 1.436 mg / L. The concentration of Na2S2O3 reducant was at concentrations of Fe 10 mg / L with reduced Fe of 0.538 mg / L while the optimum pH was at pH 5 with a reduced Fe of 0.511 mg / L. From the results of this research with both reducers it can be seen that the dragon fruit extract reduces Fe metal ion better than the reduction of Na2S2O3. Abstract

The phytochemical tests and toxicity test extract from stem bark of terap (Artocarpus odoratissimus Blanco) have been researched. The method used is Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT), the ethanol and n-hexane extract of this bark terap (A. odoratissimus) were tested. The results showed that the secondary metabolic component from terap (A.odoratissimus)was toxic. The LC50 from the extract of terap (A. odoratissimus) that dissolved in Ethanol was 82.0008 and The LC50 from the extract of terap (A.odoratissimus) that dissolved in n-Hexane was 383.3533 Keywords:Artocarpus odoratissimus, BSLT (Brine Shrimp Lethality Test), LC50

Abstract

This study aims to prepare and characterize polymer asphalt by utilizing styrofoam waste and tire rubber as an additive to improve the quality of asphalt by using dicumyl peroxide as an initiator and divenil benzene as a compatibilizer between styrofoam and tire rubber. Polymer asphalt is prepared by mixing styrofoam, tire rubber, asphalt, sand aggregate, divenil benzene and dicumyl peroxide, and extruded at 170 °C. The most optimum result was produced on Asphalt-Styrofoam-Rubber Tire (60:35:5) composition, with mechanical strength test of 2.92 MPa, water absorption test of 0.23%. The FTIR spectrum shows a change in the functional group in the hydroxyl group showing the reaction of crosslinking between styrofoam, tire rubber, DVB, with asphalt. Abstract

Penelitian mengenai Uji Skrining Fitokimia dan Uji Aktivitas Antioksidan dari Berbagai Ekstrak Daun Akasia (Acacia auriculiformis Benth.) telah dilakukan. Hasil uji skrining fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terkandung dalam ekstrak daun akasia adalah senyawa flavonoid, steroid, fenolik dan saponin. Kemudian, difraksinasi dengan menggunakan pelarut organik dari n-heksan, etil asetat dan air. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan Peredaman Radikal Bebas (DPPH) menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak yang memiliki daya aktivitas antioksidan paling tinggi adalah ekstrak etanol sebesar 91,75% Kata kunci: Akasia (Acacia auriculiformis Benth.), uji skrining fitokimia, uji antioksidan peredaman radikal bebas (DPPH)

Abstract

The Research on "Correlation Pb metal ion concentration the protein content in the shells Tahu (Meretrix meretrix) taken in coastal waters Bunyu Island North Borneo". This study aims to determine the levels of metal ions Pb and protein levels in Shell tahu based on the size and area of different sampling. Then the metal ion content of Pb and protein correlated using Least Square method. Analysis of Pb metal ion levels by using AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer) and analysis of protein content using the Kjeldahl method. In this study, the levels of metal ions Pb at area 1 with an average of 0.638 mg / L, the levels of metal ions Pb at area 2 with an average of 0,940 mg / L, the levels of metal ions Pb in area 3 with an average of 0.664 mg / L. The protein content of the mussels out in area 1 with an average of 13.9244%, protein content in area 2 obtained an average protein content of 20.3020% and area 3 obtained an average protein content of 16.1540%.
