Abstract

Street children are identified as a symptom of the economic crisis and excessive urbanization. Lack of basic information and knowledge about reproductive health causes street children to be vulnerable to complex problems, one of which is risky sexual behavior. The goal of this research is to find out the cross-sectoral collaboration model in reproductive health education for street children. This research is a qualitative descriptive research with a case study research design. The research subjects were 13 main informants. The strategy used in implementing the Reproductive Health Education Services for Street Children Assisted by the Social Service is guided by the existing Street Children Reproductive Health Education Module. The instrument of data collection was in the form of guidelines for interview questions and using a tape recorder/mobile phone and stationery. Data collection techniques were carried out by in-depth interviews. Data analysis in this study used content analysis and used triangulation as a test of validity and reliability. The result of this research are street children so far have not received maximum service because socialization and education programs are usually only for school children, while for street children there is no warrant. Street children have not received more attention from the social department, health department, DP3A (Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak). There is still a lack of focus on street children's reproductive health education because social department, health department, and DP3A are more focused on their main tasks and there is no special program for this.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has become a non-natural disaster that has brought a lot of losses, and has been designated by the government as a national disaster. Pregnant women who were confirmed positive for Covid-19 in September 2020 were 4.9% of the total 1,483 confirmed cases. Vulnerable groups for Covid-19 infection are pregnant women, maternity, and newborns, which can increase the incidence of morbidity and mortality in mothers and babies. Pregnancy is a transitional period with important physical and emotional changes, the changes that occur can affect the quality of life of pregnant women and affect the health of mothers and babies. Modification of health services during the Covid-19 pandemic is needed when there is a change in essential health services, especially community-based health efforts by maximizing the function of health cadres. This type of research is a quasi-experimental with one group pre and post test with control group design. Sample number 15 pregnant women in the third trimester each group. The assistance of 1 cadre 1 pregnant women is carried out 1x/week for 3x, with activities including: learning material for the MCH Handbook as a substitute for classes for pregnant women, pregnancy exercise and providing material for service guidelines during the Covid-19 period. The research instrument is WHOQOL-BREF. The data normality test was carried out by Shapiro Wilk and the data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon Test. There is a significant effect of cadre assistance on the quality of life of pregnant women in the physical, psychological, social and environmental domains during the Covid-19 pandemic with p-value = 0.001 in all domains. The need for intensive assistance from health cadres to pregnant women during the Covid-19 pandemic to improve the quality of life.

Abstract

Premature infants are still the leading cause of infant mortality in Indonesia. This is because premature babies are a risk of infections and other congenital complications. Premature babies tend to have less vernix caseosa due to vernix caseosa production as well as surfactant production, i.e. at 21 weeks of gestation and the older the gestational age the more vernix caseosa is most produced. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between vernix caseosa and increased C-Reactive Protein (CRP) levels toward well-being in premature infants. Using terminology design not the type of research is analytical using a perspective cohort design. The research subjects treated in the NICU room at Putri Surabaya Hospital in the period January to November 2021 were preterm infants between 0 and 1 month of age, and premature infants with few vernix caseosa. Inclusion criteria were premature infants 0-1 months of age, gestational age less than 38 weeks, birth weight 1500-2500 grams, a preterm newborn with vernix caseosa, and little or without vernix caseosa. While the exclusion criteria were preterm newborns with congenital complications and abnormalities. The data were analyzed using chi-square test and Pearson correlation bimodal analysis. The results showed a relationship between vernix caseosa and CRP levels in premature infants = 0.014, and vernix caseosa and wellness conditions in premature infants = 0.030, but no relationship between CRP levels and premature wellness. children = 0.222. The conclusion is that the more Vernix Caseosa in premature babies, the lower the CRP levels and the condition in which premature babies become more agile.
