KARSA is a peer-reviewed national journal published by Institut Agama Islam Negeri Madura. It has been nationally accredited SINTA 2 since 2017 by Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education of Republic Indonesia. It is published twice a year (June and December). It publishes articles of research results, applied theory studies, social issues, cultural studies, and Islamic culture issues. The aim of KARSA is to disseminate cutting-edge research that explores the interrelationship between social studies and (including) culture. The journal has scope and seeks to provide a forum for researchers interested in the interaction between social and cultural aspects across several disciplines. The journal publishes quality, original and state-of-the-art articles that may be theoretical or empirical in orientation and that advance our understanding of the intricate relationship between social science and culture. KARSA accepts manuscript with a different kind of languages are Indonesian, English, Arabic, or French.

Abstract

AbstractStatistics is often assumed with the data formed figure, the result of accounting, or others related with the data collection. Statistics is a tool believed to express a scientific truth.. Unfortunately, this tool  is often misused to reach the individual purposes suitable with it is wanted. Statistics is done by any way,  beginning from incorrect sample taking, manipulating the data to the solution taking which is not suitable with the real result that can be the first becoming corruption that is forbidden in Islam. Abstract

AbstractNowadays, there are many Kiai  facing distorsi of kekiaiannya. Kiai tends to be politician now. It is difficult to look for a careful kiai if he is given an unclear thing of its purpose. Being careful in his action was a part of kiai’s consistency in the past to keep it to all people especially political party. In occasion of showing one sidedness to the religion norms and the society.  Now some kiai openly become politician and involve in activity to support political activity. It means kiai coming to public area that is susceptible to corruption. Therefore, it gets difficulty to find  a careful kiai in their action, hold the religion forms, and put their religious community forward. This kind of kiai have ‘keintiman’ with God, strong spiritual relationship with their society. Abstract

AbstractCorruption is one of chronic diseases in Indonesia. A country that has majority population of Islam has the highest population level. Abstract

AbstractCorruption, collusion and nepotism in  our nation has become an integral part. They can not be separated, so it is still very difficult to be erased. Resistance to corruption that has pushed by a number of people, yet seem to produce something significantly. Efforts to eradicate corruption is our task. Although this certainly is a very difficult choice, because it is more based on the bitter fact that the corrupt behavior has dominated  in all aspects of life. There are a myriad of empirical fact which has been pointed out that there is no empty space in this country that are not filled by the corruptor. However, it does not mean that the problem of corruption in this country can not eradicate. Eradication of corruption must be done at every layer of society that no longer corrupt culture upon all parties. Abstract

This writing will describe corruption that up to now still become big problem for a number of countries, especially for the poor and developing ones. The negative effect of corruption is  both from the material side and immaterial. Therefore, with any reasons, corruption cannot be accepted and must be eliminated. The elimination of corruption must be done repressively and preventively. One of the preventive ways proposed in this writing is trough education anti corruption, especially trough family and school.

AbstractThis article presents three important aspects  of an Islamic education system, namely the purpose of education, curriculum, and strong leadership system.
