Abstract

The aim of this research was to evaluation growth respon, morbiditas, and the best of feed formulation which use market organic waste. The research was designed using Block (Randomly) Design with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were T0: Ration without usage of market organic waste; T1, T2, and T3, and T4: usage of 25, 50, 75, and 100% of market organic waste  respectively. The result revealed that the treatments did not significantly affect  (P>0,05) daily gain but significantly affect (P<0,01) to dry matter intake so the mount swine morbiditas if consuming young white mustard vegetable waste 100% at treatment of T3 and of T4 and 0% at treatment of T0,T1, and T2. It can be concluded that the best feed formulation which the best of the growth, low morbiditas is T2 with using 50% market organic waste and 50% complete feed. It is suggested that usage of market organic waste in feed of pig livestock shall not exceed 50% and avoid usage of white mustard vegetable waste which still young in order not to happened diarrhoea. Keywords: Performance of production; swine; market organic waste

Abstract

Study the Use of Several Ensiling Types as Natural Preservatives to Increase the Chemical and microbiological Characteristics of Smoked Skipjack Tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis L). The research was conducted in the Managing of Fisheries Product Processing Laboratory, University of Sam Ratulangi Manado in order to determine the effect of ensiling types and storage durations on chemical and microbiological characteristics of smoked skipjack tuna. The research used experimental method that was arranged factorially in 4x4, using Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with two replications in order to obtain 32 experimental units. The treatments consisted of two factors, i.e. types of ensiling (factor A) and storage durations (factor B). Factor A was A0 = without ensiling (as control), A1 = ensiling of mustard green, A2 = ensiling of cabbage, and A3 = ensiling of petsai. Factor B was 0 day, 3 days, 6 days, and 9 days. The observed parameters were water content, pH, total acid, total bacteria (TPC), total lactic acid bacteria, and total fungal colony. The results showed that the effect of cabbage ensiling to the chemical and microbiological characteristics of smoked skipjack tuna was better than the other treatments. It can be recognized from the low value of water content (39.78%) and pH (5.00) as well as the high value of total acid (1.03%), in which, it could support the growth of lactic acid bacteria (3.41 cfu / g) and suppress the growth of bacteria (TPC) and fungi. Ensiling of cabbage can be used as natural preservative to maintain the quality and durability of smoked skipjack tuna. It is recommended that further studies are required to identify lactic acid bacteria and to analyze nutrient content in smoked skipjack tuna as the result of certain ensiling utilization in relation to storing duration. Keywords:            storage duration, chemical and microbiological characteristics, smoked skipjack tuna, ensilingStudy the Use of Several Ensiling Types as Natural Preservatives toIncrease the Chemical and microbiological Characteristics of SmokedSkipjack Tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis L). Abstract

This study aims to determine th relationship between changes in blood erythrocyte sedimentation rate of liver abnormalities in local goats. Abnormal liver classified in bleeding (hemorrhagic), thickening of the bile ducts (cholestatic), the formation of connective tissue (fibrosis) and swelling (hepatomegaly). Abnormal scoring from 0 (normal) to 5 (liver damage above 75%). Erythrocyte sedimentation rate blood test done at the Laboratory of Clinical Pathology, Veterinary Faculty, University of Udayana. These results illustrate the influence of liver abnormalities of ESR values were analyzed with Spearman correlation coefficients according to Stell and Torrie (1991). Results showed 97% of local goats have the ESR value from 3 to 10 mm/24 hours with the type of liver damage such as bleeding 63%; swelling 44%; the formation of connective tissue 93% and 14% thickening of the bile duct. The results show that the value of the ESR is influenced by the presence of connective tissue formation (fibrosis), bleeding (hemorrhagic), and swelling (hepatomegaly) (P <0.05). It concluded that liver abnormalities in local goats, such as connective tissue formation (fibrosis), bleeding (hemorrhagic), and swelling (hepatomegaly) is correlated with the ESR so that the ESRs can be used as an indicator of liver abnormalities. Keywords : ESR, Hemorrhagic, Cholestatic, Fibrosis, Hepatomegaly

Abstract

Evaluation Structure of Genetic and Virulens Influenza Virus of H1N1. Influenza of H1N1 or Mexico Flu or Pig Influenza or of Pig Flu ( Swine Influenza or Pig Flu) representing disease of acute exhalation channel (severe) caused of virus and can be catching very fast. Influenza of H1N1 resulted from by type influenza virus type A of Orthomyxoviridae family. This Virus have the character of patogen at human being, poultry, horse, and pig. Virus of Orthomyxoviridae family is particle camouflage in form of circular or domed of length, representing RNA genom enchain single by 8 segment, and also have negative polarity. Influenza of A (H1N1) represent new strain of influenza virus of A which is human being infection. Influenza of A ( H1N1) differ from other influenza virus strain which during the time often human being infection and most human being don't have impenetrability to virus. Therefore the virus can easily disseminate from human being to human being. Infection happened to through air (cough, sneezing) or direct contact with object or patient which have terkontaminasi. Infection of the virus can happened swiftly especially at young people (age 10 - 45 year). Influenza symptom of A (H1N1) is fever, cough, headache, mialgia ( muscle pain in bone), joint pain in bone, bronchitis, head cold and is sometime accompanied with diarrhoea and puking. The symptom known as by Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) or of Flu-Like syndrome because looking like symptom of flu other bronchi infection or which is often experienced of by human being. Influenza of A (H1N1) difficult differentiated with other bronchi infection or flu if only pursuant to at disease symptom. Keywords: Influenza Virus H1N1, Orthomyxoviridae.

Abstract

Yield of NTT Local Upland Paddy under Water Deficit Conditions. This study was to evaluate yield of NTT local upland paddy under drought stress at different growth phases. The research was design in Randomized Block Design, consisted of two factors, i.e. upland paddy cultivars (factor A) and drought stress at different growth phases (factor B). Factor A consists of nine cultivars i.e. Kodi-1, Kodi-3, Kodi-4, Mts-3, Mts-5 Wkb-1, Wkb-2, IR-64, and Grogol; Factor B consists of four levels i.e. control (without drought stress treatment, P0), drought stress of 1 x 120 hours at vegetative growth phase (P1), drought stress treatment of 1 x 120 hours at the generative growth phase (P2), drought stress of 1 x 120 hours at the vegetative and generative phase (P3). Each treatment was repeated three (three) times so there were 108 observation units. The parameters measured were the number of grains per panicle, pithy grain percentage, and dry weight of 100 pithy grains. All the measurement data of each variable were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and followed by Duncan multiple range test (DMRT) when there were significant differences among the treatment being tested. The results showed that there were different interaction among NTT local upland paddy cultivars due to the drought stress at different growth phases, in the terms of number of grains per panicle, pithy grain percentage, and dry weight of 100 pithy grains. Based on the number of grains per panicle, Grogol was tolerant to drought stress; whereas, Wkb-2, Wkb-1, and IR-64 were sensitive to drought stress. Refers to the percentage of pithy grains, grogol, MTS-3, and MTS-5 were tolerant to drought stress; meanwhile, Kodi-4 and Wkb-1 were the most sensitive cultivars. Keywords: local upland paddy, drought stress, growth phases
