Abstract

Cooling system is something that is already familiar to the people of Indonesia, both in domestic and industrial use. The cooling system functions to reduce the temperature of a room so that the temperature is as desired. The development of air conditioners is increasingly modern. The use of air conditioners (AC) is growing rapidly so that the CFCs produced affect the environment which can cause the ozone layer to be damaged and cause global warming. Therefore, there is a need for research related to the level of energy use. This study discusses the Energy Efficiency Ratio test to realize a government program that is "one family one number testing". Retrieval of data in this report is by testing the split type air conditioner, where this test aims to obtain an energy-saving star label on the air conditioner. All tests are carried out at the AC Chamber Laboratory located at the Center for Energy Conversion Technology (B2TKE) - BPPT which is a professional energy conversion testing center in Indonesia. The testing process is carried out in a structured way from initial checking of test materials, preparation of tests, testing to analysis of test results. Based on the test analysis results, it can be concluded that the Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) value to get the energy saving sign star label and the test results obtained the Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) value of 11,805 Btu / h and get a four star.

Abstract

Induced Draft Fan (IDF) is a fan that sucks air from inside the boiler out to the chimney, producing negative pressure on the boiler, keeping the circulation of combustion air in the boiler normal. IDF is one of the main components in the exhaust gas system which serves to maintain the temperature and vacuum of the furnace in the boiler. This report will identify IDF damage using vibration indication control instruments by looking at vibration indication trending data through the Distributed Control System (DCS) in the Central Control Room (CCR). The results of the trending data will then be identified whether the vibration in Induced Draft Fan has increased, if the vibration ≥ 5.6 mm/s is declared an alarm and if the vibration ≥ 7.1 mm/s then the unit trip or must be stopped. Based on the results of research during industrial practice in Banten 2 PLTU Labuan there were 2 conditions in the IDF, namely when there was a disturbance with a height of X and Y side vibrations of 22.5 mm/s, and conditions after improvement with the height of X vibration side that is, an average of 4.2 mm/s and Y side averaging 4.1 mm/s. The high vibration is affected by the damage of several IDF components, caused by the amount of ash remaining combustion that enters the IDF which causes abrasion of the impeller blade.

Abstract

Wind energy as one of the new renewable energies that has considerable potential in Indonesia is known by the rapid development of wind power plants in Indonesia. The windmill blade which is one of the main components of the windmill has a role as the conversion of wind potential energy into motion energy to eventually become electrical energy that is influenced by the shape of the windmill blade of the windmill. NACA (National Aeronautical Committee Advisory) in charge of aeronautics has standards regarding varying airfoil shapes. A comparison of variations of 4-digit type airfoils (NACA 4412), 5 digits (NACA 23012) and series 16 (NACA 16-212) to determine the value of Cl / Cd from the variation of NACA airfoil types. The results of simulations carried out using Qblade software showed that the value of Cl / Cd to the highest alpha of the three types of airfoils was NACA 4412 with a value of 134, alpha 6 and the Cp value for the highest TSR was 0.44 at TSR 5.5. Furthermore, the NACA 4412 airfoil blades can be developed by making lighter material variations so that the windmill blades are easier to spin so that the resulting power becomes more maximal.

Abstract

In Solar Water Heaters require collectors to absorb solar radiation. This absorbed radiation is useful for heating fluid (water) which is used to heat water for domestic use. To get the desired water temperature, the collector must meet certain criteria. In this test, conducted in the Testing Laboratory of Solar Water Heater B2TKE-BPPT for 3 days at 08.30 to 16.00 WIB using a flat plate collector covering an area of 2 m2 with a tank capacity of 150 liters, testing refers to SNI 3021-1992 1st edition. The data taken are Solar Radiation (W/m2), Ambient Temperature (T-amb), Temperature of Inlet Collector (T-in), Water Temperature Out of Collector (T-out) using the help of sensors that have been installed in accordance with the provisions and data generated will be managed via a computer every 30 minutes interval on an ongoing basis. This test, obtained results that the daily average of the efficiency of a flat plate collector of 2 m2 is 46.55%, which means that a solar panel is only able to absorb 46.55% of the solar radiation that illuminates the solar collector. For optimal results, testing should be carried out during clear weather so that collector efficiency can be achieved.
