Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning strategies in learning approaches and learning methods and the impact of using these learning strategies for dyscalculia students in class XI of State Special Need School (SLBN) Tamanwinagun Kebumen in the 2018/2019 academic year. The subject of this study was a student of class XI Sate Special School (SLBN) Tamanwinagun Kebumen in the 2018/2019 academic year with the source of research data, namely a classroom teacher. This research's object is the mathematics learning strategy for students having difficulty learning mathematics (dyscalculia). Data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The data analysis used an interactive model from Miles and Huberman, which describes conditions or phenomena as they are. The research conducted by researchers used a qualitative approach with a study design at SLBN Tamanwinangun Kebumen. The results showed that the teacher's learning strategies for dyscalculia consisted of learning approaches and methods. The learning approach includes a contextual approach, and an individual approach with an approach suitable for students is a contextual approach. The learning methods used include the lecture method, the question and answer method, the assignment method, and the visual method. The appropriate learning method for students is the visual method. The application of learning strategies in the form of approaches and methods used by the teacher in overcoming student dyscalculia impacts learning mathematics. This impact can be seen from the cognitive aspects of the students with dyscalculia, including memory, understanding, application, analysis, evaluation.

Abstract

Student learning outcomes are influenced by several factors, both internal and external factors. Interest in learning and learning independence are several factors that may be related to learning outcomes. This study aims to determine whether there is a positive and significant relationship between learning interest and learning independence with class X students' learning outcomes in the even semester of Vocational High School (SMK) Muhammadiyah in the academic year 2018/2019. This research aims to determine whether there is a positive and significant relationship between learning interest and learning independence with mathematics learning outcomes of class X students of SMK Muhammadiyah Mlati Even Semester of the 2018/2019 school year. This study's population was class X SMK Muhammadiyah Mlati 2018/2019 school year, consisting of 3 classes. Samples were taken in class X Pharmacy with random sampling techniques to the class. Data collection techniques are done using a questionnaire method to obtain data on learning interest and learning independence and documentation methods to obtain learning outcome data. Research instrument test: reliability test. Analysis prerequisite test: normality test, linearity test, and independence test. Data analysis uses product moment analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed no positive and significant relationship between learning interest and learning independence with the learning outcomes of class X Even Semester Students of SMK Muhammadiyah Mlati Academic Year 2018/2019. This is indicated by Fcount = -73.25 and Ftable = 3.80 Fcount <Ftable with R = 0.25966 . Large RC= 92.72%,RC = 7.27%, EC= 6.25%, and EC= 0.490%.

Abstract

Mathematics is an essential basic science and useful for the development of science and technology. Available teaching materials limit the use of teaching materials in the schools. Algebra material is still considered difficult for some students'. Instructional materials in the form of modules are expected to become facilities that support the learning process. This research aims to produce teaching materials in mathematic modules with the algebra materials in the Junior High School student class VII. This research development using ADDIE that is Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. This study's subjects are the materials experts, media experts, and State Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 2 Gamping Sleman and Junior High School (SMP) Muhammadiyah 2 Gamping Sleman. The instrument of this research is a questionnaire. The analysis data use the qualitative and quantitative techniques to calculate the result score of feasibility in learning media development. The result of the development of teaching materials in the form of module based on the quality of each aspect in the learning media in terms of experts materials with very good category with an average score of 81, in terms of media experts with good category with an average score of 69.33, and student response with very good category with an average score of 37.81. Based on the assessment, the teaching materials in the form of the module are very suitable for learning.

Abstract

Mathematics learning outcomes of students correlate with many factors. Numerical ability, learning independence, and learning facilities at home are considered to correlate with learning outcomes. The purpose of this research is to know that there is a positive and significant correlation between numerical ability, learning independence, and learning facilities at home with mathematics learning outcomes for students from class VIII at State Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 4 Yogyakarta first semester in 2017/2018 school year. This research population comprises students from class VIII in the first semester at SMP Negeri 4 Yogyakarta in the 2017/2018 school year, consisting of 5 classes with 169 students. The sample is taken with random technique sampling toward class, and class VIII C consisted of 33 students. The data collection technique uses the questionnaire technique and test. Research instrumental test uses validity, reliability, and T-test. Prerequisite analysis test involves normality, independent, and linearity test. Data analysis uses correlation and regresses linear analysis. The result of this research shows that there is positive and significant correlation between numerical ability (X1), learning independency (X2), and learning facilities at home (X3) with mathematics learning outcomes of students with Fount > Ftable is 5,320 > 2,93 with R = 0,596 and R2 = 0,355 with and SR(X1) = 46,856 %, RC (X2)= 18,545 %, and RC (X3)= 34,599 %, EC (X1) = 16,633 %, EC (X2) = 6,583 %, and EC (X3)= 12,282 %.

Abstract

Development of Mathematics Module Based on ARIAS Model on the Material of Algebraic Form For Junior High School Grade VII 1ST Semester. The problems that were found are limited availability of teaching materials causes the learning process to be less varied and teacher-centered, so the student's independence and activeness in building their knowledge below. This research aims to develop, test the modules' feasibility, and determine student responses to modules with the ARIAS model on algebraic form material. The research design used is Research and Development. The research subject is material experts, media experts, and students from Junior High School (SMP) Muhammadiyah 04 Yogyakarta and SMPN 03 Pleret. Data collection techniques were used through interviews and questionnaires with teachers and students. The instrument was tested through validation from material experts and media experts. Data analysis used questionnaire analysis and analysis of the feasibility of the mathematics module. The results showed that the module's assessment by material experts obtained an average score of 106,33 with very good. The module's assessment by media experts obtained an average score of 131 with thry good. The student's response obtained an average score of 114,83 with the category of very good. Based on the calculations' results, it can be concluded that the mathematics module was feasible to be used in the learning process.
