Abstract

Paddy Rice Stemborer Attact and The Role of Parasitoid in Control That Population atSimultaneous and Stagered Ricefield. The arrangement of suistable agriculture in Baliwhich appropriate with Bali governments mission : Bali Clean and Green Go to Organic. Theconcept of modern agriculture look like contradiction with the aspects suistainableagriculture. The aspect of cultivation have been done by local agriculture community in Balicall it Subak for many years, but the attack of yellow rice borer still happen, wich adversefarmers side, persist. The efforts control wich has been done, still rely on pesticides, becauseit can give quick effect, but it is not appropriate for suistainable agriculture. The othersolution to solve that issues with the integrated pest management (IPM) as the maincomponent of with is the role parasitoids. The experiment was carried out at simultaneousplanting area (Subak Sidakarya, Denpasar Selatan District) and at staggered planting area(Subak Buaji, Denpasar Timur District). The result of this experiment showed that damageintensity of rice stemborer at simmultaneus planting was lower than at staggered plantingarea. There are four species stemborer at simultaneous planting area and at staggered plantingareas, namely Scirpophaga incertulas, Sesamia inferens, Chilo suppressalis, and Chilopolychrysus. Three kinds of egg parasitoids were found to decrease the population of ricedstemborer. They were Tetrastichus schoenobii, Telenomus rowani and Trichogrammajaponicum.

Abstract

Analysis of Relationship Between Crop Density and The Balancing of Both Soil Nitrogenand Phosporus in Verticulture System of Mustard Green (Brassica juncea L) and Kale(Ipomea reptana). The relationship between crops density and the balancing of both soilnitrogen and phosphorus in verticulture system remained to be important issue. A glasshouseexperiment had carried out from October 2014 to March 2015 in order to determine (1) theoptimum population density of both mustard greens (Brassica juncea L) and kale (Ipomeareptana), (2) soil total-N or available-P balance, and (3) the relatiohships between plantspopulations and soil nutrients balance. A split plot experiment under complete block designwas applied to examine the effect of the main plot (crops type i.e. mustard green and kale) andsub plot (crops population i.e 10, 15, 20,25, and 30 crops per planting container 0,12 m2 insize). The results showed that no optimal crops population density had achieved. Themaximum crops population was 30 for both mustard greens and kale. The soil total-N balancewas negative while these was positive for soil available-P balance of P and N negative. Alogarithmic relationships was calculated between soil total-N balance with mustard green, while linier patterns were significant for soil-N balance with kale and available-P balancewith both mustard greens and kale.

Abstract

Quick Evaluation for Cold Tolerant Line By Using Thermogradientbar. Lowtemperature stress was the main obstacle for rice growth in high elevation. Low temperaturestress greatly affect the vegetatif growth stage and generatif. There were required screening /quick test to determine the tolerance genotype for low temperature stress. Thermogradientbaris one quick screening tool that could potentially be used in the rice in the vegetatif phase. This study aimed to evaluate quickly for getting the tolerant rice lines on low temperaturestress. The study was conducted in November-December 2015 Biology Laboratory, LIPI. Atotal of 15 lines of upland rice and 3 checks were used in the testing. Gradient temperature onthermogradientbar tool were 12, 17, 18, 21, 22, 25, 26, 28, 31 oC. Seeds of each strain testedwith 5 replications. The number of replicates results show low temperature stress began tolook at the temperature of 18 oC. Genotype G3 (B12165D-MR-8-1-1-2), G4 (B11910D-MR-22-2), G5 (B14217F-MR-1), and G6 ( B14168E-MR-5) were a sensitive genotypes at atemperature <18 oC and a real contrast to the check-resistant white Sigambiri. StrainB12165D-MR-8-1-1-2 is the most sensitive by 23:14% germination.
