Abstract

Studies on biosorption of Cr(III) on coconut fiber immobilized with EDTA biosorbent (B-EDTA) have been conducted. These studies included the optimization of EDTA immobilization on biosorbent, optimization of Cr(III) biosorption on B-EDTA biosorbent that include pH dan contact time biosorption, and also studied the mechanisms of Cr(III) interactions on biosorbent B-EDTA by squential desorption. The result showed that the optimum EDTA immobilization on biosorbent E-EDTA occured at ratio of 1mmol EDTA : 4g biosorbet (0,25mmol/g ), with the surface acidity of biosorbent B-EDTA of 2,18 mmol/g. Optimum biosorption process of Cr(III) on biosorbent B-EDTA occured at pH = 3, contact time of 120 minutes, with the biosorption capacity of Cr(III) on biosorbent B-EDTA of 8,32 mg/g. The squential desorption studies show that the interaction of Cr(III) on biosorbent B-EDTA occured predominantly through physical adsorption namely Van der Waals bonding.

Abstract

The determination of anti free radical activity on longan honey (Nephelium longata L.) by DPPH method using UV-Vis sphectrophotometry and identification of chemical compound in non polar and semi polar fraction have been done. Longan honey was diluted with methanol and then partied by n-hexane and ethyl acetate. The absorbance was measured at 497 nm, 517 nm, and 537 nm for the DPPH concentration of : 0,001%, 0,002%, 0,003%, and 0,004% and the chemical compound was identified by phytochemical method. The result showed that part of n-hexane and ethyl acetate probably consist of chemical compound of isoflavone and value of anti free radical activity on longan honey in semi polar fraction was higher than in non polar fraction which were 91,71% and 77,68% at DPPH concentration of 0,001% (b/v).

Abstract

Flusilazole pesticide has been synthesized through coupling reaction of organosilica and aryl halide using palladium catalyst in basic condition under argon atmospherie in two reaction steps. The product was characterized using 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy at 500 MHz and 125 MHz respectively. The results of this research showed that the high yield of colorless oil product was obtained up to 70%. 1H and 13C NMR spectra have six and eight peaks respectively, which indicate the structure of flusilazole.
