Abstract

Community activities in Tanjung Labu waters include loading and unloading, fishing, coral reef mining, and others. Coral reefs and fish associated are directly affected by these activities. This research was carried out on June 2023 in Tanjung Labu Waters, Lepar District, South Bangka. The aimed of the research was to determined the number of individual indicator, major and target fish and the relationship between live coral reef cover and biomass. The coral reef data collection method uses UPT (Underwater Photo Transect), and coral reef fish use UVC (Underwater Visual Census). The results of the percentage of coral reef cover are in the moderately damaged category, the abundance of coral reef fish is in the very rare category. The relationship between the percentage of live coral reef cover and the abundance of fish in the indicator, major, target categories and coral reef fish biomass, had a positive relationship and was quite strong to strong. The relationship between coral reef fish abundance and biomass was perfectly positive with a very strong correlation coefficient. Factors that influenced the relationship between the percentage of live coral reef cover and the abundance and biomass of coral reef fish were food availability and anthropogenic activities. The relationship between abundance and biomass of coral reef fish was related to length and high abundance. Efforts to manage the Tanjung Labu Village conservation area on Lepar Island, reduce anthropogenic activities, increase education regarding applicable regulations, strengthen supervision and law enforcement (institutional) and rehabilitate coral reefs.

Abstract

Mangrove ecosystems produce litter and act as a source of detritus. Mangrove litter will become organic material for the environment, which can indicate that the environmental conditions are fertile. The mangrove environment is fertile, which makes the chain of life. The fallen litter then enters the decomposition process assisted by organisms such as macrozoobenthos and several other animals. In the decomposition process there are several influencing factors such as sunlight, water, substrate and other natural factors. The purpose of this study was to determine which litter productivity and decomposition rate was the highest from Sonneratia alba, Rhizophora apiculata and Rhizophora stylosa in West Bali National Park. This research was conducted for 2 months, starting in January 2021, by taking and measuring samples for 2 weeks. The method of determining the point using purposive sampling. Data analysis for litter productivity by calculating the average dry weight of litter (after oven) and decomposition rate with litter reduction every week (after oven). Productivity Sonneratia alba (3.33 g/week), Rhizophora apiculata (3.83 g/week), Rhizophora stylosa (3.05 g/week). Decomposition rate of Rhizophora stylosa (1.85 g/week), Sonneratia alba (1.71 g/week), and Rhizophora apiculata (1.39 g/week).

Abstract

Buleleng Regency has large fisheries and marine potential, including the capture fisheries sector. Optimal capture fisheries management will be able to provide welfare for community groups that depend on fishing for their lives. This research aims to formulate a policy strategy for the development of capture fisheries in Buleleng Regency. This research was conducted on 15 May - 31 October 2020. The locations for collecting data for respondents were 7 (seven) Districts and 2 (two) Villages in each District in Buleleng Regency. A quantitative descriptive research approach combines SWOT analysis and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The results of the analysis obtained Progressive Strategy (SO) with a value of x: 0.2 and y: 0.6. This strategy includes the quality of catches, fishing industry areas, coaching and mentoring of fishermen, utilization of fishing ports, fishing business capital, fishing units, and fisherman insurance. The results of the Consistency Ratio (CR) value calculation show a figure of 0.03, which means that the assessment of the strategy criteria is acceptable. The results of the analysis of the policy criteria hierarchy of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) obtained 5 (five) priority strategies that need to be implemented in collaboration at each level of authority from the Provincial Government of Bali or the Bueleleng Regency Government, namely modernizing fishing units, ensuring the safety and health of fishermen's families through equal distribution of fishermen's insurance receipts, facilitating fishermen's business capital through capital institutions, increasing fishermen's skills and knowledge regarding modernization of technology-based fishing techniques, and utilizing the Sangsit Fish Landing Base (PPI) as the leading center for capture fisheries activities in Buleleng.

Abstract

Plawangan Timur Segara Anakan lagoon is known as the unique aquatic ecosystem that supports the life of aquatic organisms by providing nursery and feeding grounds. However, the Eastern Part of Segaran Anakan Lagoon is also utilized by many industrial and domestic activities that could degrade the quality and quantity of the aquatic ecosystem. This research aims to decribe the composition, diversity, and ecological niches of ichthyofauna from Eastern Segara Anakan Lagoon. Sampling was conducted on 29 June and 19 July 2023, using gillnets which have 1–2-inch mesh size. The diversity of ichthyofauna analyzed using the diversity indices while the distribution of the ichthyofauna were performed using Cannonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA). This study found 120 individuals of fish, that is comprised of 21 species, 19 families and 11 orders. The fish comprised of 18,34% adult and 81,66% juvenile. Most fishes were categorized as marine-freshwater-brackish resident and only I. japonica and S. commersoni species are true marine fishes. The diversity indices showed that Kali Panas station have the highest diversity indices and the lowest indices value were in Ujung Galang station. CCA showed that most fishes that are categorized as Marine, Marine-Reef-associated, and Marine, Brackish, Reef-Associated resident were found in high salinity waters.
