Abstract

Livestock group of Kaliakah Village, Jembrana Regency is one of the groups which are raising bali cattle in theirdaily life. Their members are mostly farmers having productive lands. They feed their cattle with greens obtainedby trimming the grass, however they sometimes feed them with rice-straws although somehow they do not proceedmaximally them. Referring to the above conditions, we conducted socialization and demonstration about how toproceed rice-straws and cattle’s manure by bio-fermentation technology. Rice-straws were proceeded by biochastfermentor and manure with Rumino Bacillus. Biochast, in one hand consists of Ruminococcus, Bakteroides,Lactobacillus and Streptococcus. On the other hand Rumino Bacillus consists of Rummino Coccus and Bacillus.Sugar is a fermentation media. Rice-straws and manure processes were completely done from 1 until 2 weeks.The proceeded rice-straws can be stored until 3 to 4 months, however manures can be anytime

Abstract

This Community service was carried out in the village Blumbang, sub Kerambitan, Tabanan on Saturday,September 22nd, 2012 at 15:00 to 17:00 pm. The participants included members of the village community ofBlumbang who joined in the cattle ranchers. From discussions with the members of the group , it can be saidthat they have a grasp of the concept of THK (Tri Hita Karana) but almost 100% of the participants attendingthis activity have not yet known how to implement. Activities continued with the introduction of fermentationtechnology to solve the problem. All the participants were very enthusiastic. Conclusion could be drawn that theintroduction of THK concept activities and its implementation in their daily life of the village community hasopened Blumbang villagers’ minds. Insight into the importance of processing the feces and urine of cow breedingis as a real form of the THK concept application

Abstract

Vegetables cultivation in the pot based on Eichhornia crassipes bokashi technology application is the activity toempower women synergized with the natural resources around them. The purposed of IbM program implementationwere (1) empower and provide skills to the women group in order to utilize of natural resources (Eichhorniacrassipes, sawdust and alluvial soil) and obtain vitamines, minerals and fiber for households through the vegetablescultivation in the pot and utilization of Eichhornia crassipes bokashi as growing mixture media; (2) as effort tosave on household spending and to creating entrepreneurship. This program was carried out with two groupsof women (the RW I women group and RW II women group) from Cemara Labat, Palangka Raya, Central ofKalimantan. Socialization, training and coaching about cultivation of vegetables in the pot and making of Eichhorniacrassipes bokashi has given the ability and skills to the women group for utilizing natural resources around them.This IbM programme has sustainability. It is caused the women groups from RW I and RW II Cemara Labatwant to continue planting vegetables in the pot using Eichhornia crassipes bokashi, to meet needs of householdvegetables daily and it has raised a family entrepreneurship.
