Abstract

Kepercayaan diri merupakan suatu hal terpenting bagi siswa khususnya dalam belajar matematika. Apabila individu tersebut memiliki kepercayaan diri yang rendah maka akan mempengaruhi hasil belajarnya. Matematika merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran yang di anggap sulit bagi siswa di sekolah, hal inilah yang menjadi ketakutan siswa sehingga kepercayaan diri menjadi rendah ketika belajar matematika. Oleh sebab itu,  guru  dapat  menggunakan metode  active  learning  yang  membuat  pembelajaran matematika menjadi menyenangkan dan tidak hanya berpusat pada guru saja melainkan berpusat juga pada siswa, sehingga dapat menumbuhkan dan mengembangkan kepercayaan diri siswa. Metode active learning diantaranya metode Jigsaw dan metode inkuiri  terbimbing.  Dari  kedua  metode  tersebut  peneliti  akan  membandingkan dan menganalisis metode manakah yang baik bagi kepercayaan diri siswa dalam belajar matematika. Setelah itu, hasilnya terdapat perbedaan dari kedua metode tersebut.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain “One Shot Case Study”. Dari hasil analisis diperoleh sebesar 62% kepercayaan diri siswa yang menggunakan metode Jigsaw sedangkan metode inkuiri terbimbing sebesar 65%. Dari kedua metode tersebut diperoleh bahwa kepercayaan diri siswa berada pada kategori sama yaitu kategori tinggi. Untuk uji t diperoleh bahwa sig.2 (tailed) 0,026 < 0,05 sehingga H0 ditolak dengan demikian disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam belajar matematika antara yang menggunakan metode Jigsaw dengan metode inkuiri terbimbing.Kata Kunci: Kepercayaan Diri, Metode Jigsaw, dan Metode Inkuiri Terbimbing

Abstract

Mathematics is not only as science that emphasize the cognitive ability, moreover in the attitude establishment and good behavior, while in learning mathematics teacher usually, only emphasizes cognitive ability and teacher seldom to pay attention about students’ so character is still low, on of them is students’ democratic character. Students’ democratic character is still low, it can be showed that they don’t ask to understand the lesson. So, it is needed the effort to improve studnts’ democratic character, that is implementation of Islamic Integration Model in liearning mathematics. The fuction of research are 1) to find out the students’ democratic character by using Islamic integration model in learning mathematics. 2) to find out the students’ democratic character without using Islamic integration model in learning mathematics. 3) to find out the implementation the Islamic integration model in learning mathematic on students’ democratic character better than the convensional model in learning mathematic. Variabel of this research is students’ democratic character, especially in learning mathematics with the theme tangent circle. The research method used is a quantitative method by using quasi eksperimental design. Techniques of collecting data of this research are attitude scale, observation, and interview. Population in this research is the eighth grade students’ of MTs NU Putri 3Buntet Pesantren Cirebon Year 2014/2015 about 213 students. Sampel of the research is cluster random sampling, it can be done by choosing group of two class that is grade of VIII D as experimental class and grade of VIII E as control class. The analyisis data is using descriptive statistic and inferensia statistic. The result of this research can be concluded that 1) students’ democratic character in experimental class when learning mathematics by using Islamic integration model in the good categorization is showed by number of attitude scala is about 83%; 2) students’ democratic character in control class when learning mathematics without by using Islamic integration model in the good categorization is showed by number of attitude scala is about 68%; 3) descriptively, students’ democratic characterexperimental classtend to be higher than control class, but thestatistical result not significant because the score of significant about 0,06. It shows not different of students’ democratic character learning mathematic by using Islamic integration model and conventional model significant standard  =  5%.Key words        : Islamic Integration, Democratic Character

Abstract

Pendidikan khususnya dalam bidang matematika kini sedang mengalami permasalahan yaitu pembelajaran matematika masih menggunakan metode pembelajaran ekspositori yang membuat siswa merasa jenuh sehingga hasilnya tidak maksimal. Sedangkan dalam belajar diperlukan inovasi, salah duanya adalah penggunaan metode pembelajaran, seperti metode Project Based Learning dan metode Work Based Learning.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas berpikir kreatif matematika siswa antara yang menggunakan metode Project Based learning dengan yang menggunakan metode Work Based Learning pada pokok bahasan geometri di kelas X SMA Negeri 5 Cirebon. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen, populasi yang diteliti adalah semua kelas X di SMA Negeri 5 Cirebon tahun ajaran 2014/2015, sampel yang diambil adalah kelas X7 dan X8 dengan menggunakan teknik cluster  random  sampling.  Hasil  penelitian  menunjukan  bahwa  berdasarkan  hasil independent-sample t test yaitu diperoleh nilai sebesar 0,410 dan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,683 maka diperoleh sebesar 1,998 dengan demikian maka (0,410 <  1,998). Dengan taraf signifikansi  =  0,05 sedangkan nilai signifikans yang diperoleh adalah 0,683 maka nilai signifikansi lebih besar dari taraf signifikansi yaitu 0,683 >   0,05. Ini berarti  diterima. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan berpikir kreatif matematika siswa antara yang menggunakan metode Project Based Learning dengan yang menggunakan metode Work Based Learning, yang berarti bahwa penggunaan kedua metode tersebut efektif dalam segi kuantitas dan waktu, tetapi dalam segi kualitas metode Project Based Learning memberikan efek yang lebih baik, hal ini bisa dilihat dari pencapaian nilai yang memenuhi KKM sebesar 78,06 %.Kata kunci: berpikir kreatif, metode Project Based learning, metode Work BasedLearning

Abstract

Learning output of students is essential part of for success of learning proccess. In math,  mainly,  teachers today  apply  expository method  taking  students into  passive classroom learning. Thus, by applying assisted learning cycle LKPD (student’s text book) it is hoped that student’s clasroom learning output is improved. The aim of the research is to investigate learning model of assisted learning cycle LKPD on main logic in improving learning output, to investigate learning output on 10th grade SMAN 1 Terisi by using learning cycle with LKPD on main discussion of mathematical logic, to investigate the different output in experimented class and in controlled class. Population of the research are 10th grade SMAN 1 Terisi Indramayu numbering 185 students. Research sample is selected using cluster random sampling technique, and class X-2 is chosen as experimented class using learning cycle with LKPD and class X-1 is as controlled class using expository learning model as the sample. The research is quantitative and the techniques of collecting data are questionnaire and test. Technique of analyzing data used normality test, homogeneity test, hyphotesis test (t-tes). Data of finished questionnaire shows that average score of respond indicator and student motivation towards learning cycle with LKPD is 77,68 %, and it is categorized active. The result of linear regression test shows score of regression coeficient R=0,215, and score F=1,362 with sig=0,253. It is concluded from the data that there is influence on applying learning cycle with LKPD. On learning test, experimented class show they are better than controlled class. The average of learning output achieved by experimented class is 82,83 and that of controlled class is 75,7. It shows learning output divergence as much as 7,13. Based on hypothesis test, it is achieved score of statistical test sig.(2-tailed) which is 0,005<0,05 that Ho is denied. It means learning output in experimented class applying learning cycle with LKPD and controlled class implementing expository on main discussion over mathematical logic in 10th grade SMAN 1 Terisi Indramayu differs. Keywords: Learning Cycle, Student’s text book (LKPD), and Learning Output

Abstract

Selection of assessment Technique in study evaluation can influence the result learn the student. Specially in mathematics study, in evaluation of study of assessment technique not only fetched up all standing at written it just by assessment technique but a lot of choice of assessment technique which can awaken the study atmosphere become creative and active. In this case evaluate the study require to be improve repaired to by utilize to improve the result learn the student. Therefore, this research try to compare the technique of performance assessment with the assessment technique written in mathematics study  of  at  discussion fundamental mark with  lines  and  angle  corner evaluated from result learn student. This study aims to determine whether there are difference to the results of students mathematics learning among students in group learning by using the techniques of evaluation and performance assessment of students in group learning by using valuation techniques evaluation written description of the type limited to the subject line and angle in class VII SMP 1 Cilimus District Brass. This study is a quasi-experimental research. Affordable population in this study were students of second grade at SMPN 1 Cilimus Academic Year 2014/2015. Samples were selected using random cluster sampling technique, was elected class VII.7 the number of students 36 people and VII.8 by the number of students 37 people as the sample. The research instrument used in the form of tests. The average math student learning outcomes in the experimental group I in both categories, shown by the average number of 84,93 with a standard deviation of 5,98 and the average math student learning outcomes in the experimental group II in both categories, indicated by the numbers an average of 81,39 with  a  standard deviation of  6,08.  Hypothesis test  results  conclude that  there  are difference to the results of students' mathematics learning among students in group learning by using the techniques of evaluation and performance assessment of students in group learning by using valuation techniques evaluation written description of the type limited to the subject line and angle in class VII SMPN 1 Cilimus District Brass at significance level of 5%.Keywords: Comparison, Student Learning Outcomes, Performance Assessment, Written Assessment Limited Description Type

Abstract

Critical thinking can be surely taught and practiced for all educational graders. However, in educational field, it is still few teachers who facilitate students’ mathematics critical thinking. The aims of this study is to know whether the implementation of practical learning method significantly affects students’ mathematics critical thinking skills in learning mathematic at junior high school. The significances of the study are to give students’ active role in learning process, to improve students’ comprehension towards mathematic concept, and to upgrade students’ mathematics critical thinking. This research method is experiment method with design path analysis. The population was taken from all eighth graders which are 265 students of SMP N 3 Sumber period 2014/2015. The, the random sampling was used to gain 44 students of VIII E grade. The technique of data collection including questionnaire and essay test was used. The results of questionnaire showed that 25 or 57 % students gave responses very positively toward the implementation of practical learning method. Then, 19 or 43% students gave positive response toward the implementation of practical learning method. The result of t-test showed that there is a linier relationship between practical learning method and mathematics critical thinking with  = 1,341 X. Coefficient with positive response means that there is a significant relationship between practical learning method and mathematics critical thinking by implementing practical learning methods very often may improve students’ mathematics critical thinking. According to the result of t-test, it is showed that taccount = 6,509 > ttabel = 2,020. It can be concluded that the implementation of practical learning method significantly affect students’ mathematics critical thinking at VIII E grade of SMP Negeri 3 Sumber Kabupaten Cirebon.Keywords : Practical Learning Methods, Critical Thinking Skills

Abstract

Students’ success in learning mathematics can be measured from the learning process. By learning mathematics, it is expected that students can improve their thinking ability that includes the ability to reason, solve problems, communicate, and respect the usefulness of Mathematics. However, preliminary observation had showed that students’ achievement in learning mathematics is relatively low due to conventional methods of instruction. This research aims at; 1) finding out the students' responses to the application of thematically integrated learning in Mathematics, 2) finding out students’ reasoning skills in the composition of the two functions and inverse functions, and 3) finding out the effect of thematically integrated instruction in Mathematics on students’ reasoning ability. It is expected that the implementation of this learning model would improve students’ Mathematic achievement. The results demonstrate a regression equation of Y = 15.477 + 0,714X, a regression coefficient is positive of 0.714. This can be interpreted as a response to the implementation of thematic learning model thet the better it will improve students’ reasoning ability. Number R Square of 0,151. Meaning that the level of reasoning ability of students’ affected by the high and low stundents’ response to the implementation of thematic learning model 15,1%. The implementation of thematic learning model in the study of mathematics can be see from the results of the regression coefficient test showed thet significant value 0,007 < 0,05. Therefore, Ho is rejected. This result illustrates that there is a significant effect of the implementation of thematic learning model in teaching mathematics on students' reasoning ability.Keywords: Thematically Integrated Instruction, Ability, Reasoning

Abstract

Salah satu sebab kurang menariknya bahan ajar matematika untuk siswa SMP/MTs adalah faktor kerumitan bahan ajar yang digunakan. Oleh karena itu, bahan ajar perlu bentuk sajian yang ringan dan menarik. Upaya meningkatkan ketertarikan siswa tersebut, maka dibutuhkan sebuah inovasi dalam pengembangan bahan ajar. Salah satunya adalah dengan membuat bahan ajar dalam bentuk modul pembelajaran matematika yang bermuatan emotional quotient.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan modul dalam bentuk modul pembelajaran matematika bermuatan emotional quotient pada pokok bahasan himpunan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan. Adapun desain penelitian ini adalah penyederhanaan langkah-langkah Sugiyono dan langkah-langkah Metode ADDIE dengan cara menggabungkan keduanya, yaitu analisis potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, revisi desain, uji coba produk, revisi produk, evaluasi, dan kesimpulan.Aspek-aspek penilaian didapatkan dari studi pendahuluan yang dibagi menjadi dua hal, yaitu kelayakan produk dan respon siswa. Pada tingkat kelayakan produk meliputi aspek isi, sistematika, bahasa, kegrafikan, muatan pendukung, dan muatan emotional quotient. Sedangkan respon siswa meliputi aspek perhatian, ketertarikan, keyakinan, dan kepuasan.Hasil uji kelayakan berdasarkan aspek-aspek modul tersebut diperoleh angka dengan rata-rata sebesar 82 atau 91% dalam kriteria sangat layak. Sedangkan untuk uji keefektifan diperoleh dari evaluasi berupa tes, dengan pencapaian keberhasilan secara klasikal sebesar 88% dan angket respon siswa diperoleh angka sebesar 75,9% dari 42 siswadalam kriteria baik. Kesimpulan menunjukkan bahwa kualitas modul pembelajaran matematika bermuatan emotional quotientini layak dan efektif untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Berdasarkan dari hasil pembahasan, disarankan bahwa modul pembelajaran matemtaika bermuatan emotional quotient hendaknya dapat dikembangkan lagi pada pokok bahasan matematika yang lain dan juga untuk mata pelajaran yang lain. Kata kunci: Modul Pembelajaran, Matematika, Emotional Quotient

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan hasil pengukuran motivasi, persepsi dan prestasi belajar matematika  siswa  yang  menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif  dengan  teknik  regresi ganda. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII sejumlah 46 siswa di MTs Al-Hidayah Dukupuntang Cirebon. Data tingkat motivasi dan persepsi siswa diperoleh melalui angket, sedangkan data prestasi belajar matematika diperoleh dari hasil tes matematika pokok bahasan kubus dan balok. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh informasi bahwa motivasi belajar sebesar 35% siswa termasuk dalam kategori rendah. Persepsi siswa pada matematika sebesar 37% siswa masuk dalam kategori sedang. Sedangkan rata-rata prestasi belajar siswa menunjukkan prestasi yang cukup baik yaitu sebanyak 39% siswa. Pengaruh motivasi dan persepsi siswa pada matematika terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa ditunjukkan dengan koefisien determinasi sebesar 0,935.  Hal  ini  menunjukkan  bahwa  persentase  sumbangan  pengaruh  motivasi  dan persepsi siswa pada matematika terhadap prestasi belajar matematika sebesar 93,5% melalui fungsi taksiran = -83,724 + 0,532X1 + 0,754X2. Hasil uji hipotesis dengan uji F diperoleh Fhitung > Ftabel yaitu (325,401 > 3,21) dengan signifikasi 0,000 < 0,05 maka H0 ditolak. Jadi motivasi dan persepsi siswa secara bersama-sama berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII di MTs Al-Hidayah Dukupuntang Kab.
