Abstract

Miana (Coleus scutellaroides (L.) Benth) is known as Mayana by local people west Halmahera. This plant is cultivated almost at every village in West Halmahera. After investigation, in fact the utilization of Miana as medicine has been implemented by almost local people west Halmahera. The aims of study are to record most utilization of Miana as medice at villages in west Halmahera and to explain about phytochemical of Miana which support its use as medicine based on the previous studies on pharmacology. Ethnobotanical data were collected from site at six villages, and then identified in plant herbarium laboratory. The result of study showed that Miana used to cure (disease; number of village) back pain because of menstruation (2), cough (2), ulcers (2), menstruation pain syndrome (1), bleeding after childbirth (1), appetie enhancer (1), dry lips (1), hemorrhoid (1), and increasing fertility (2). Based on these following the phytochemical content the Miana plant consists of essential oil, tannin, flavonoids, eugenol, steroid, saponins, fitol, rosmanic acid, streptozocin, and quersetin. Those phytochemcial content are strongly supposed playing as an important role in medicine because their pharmacologycal activities. In related to conservation, local people west Halmahera have been cultivating Miana at their homegarden till today. Keywords : Miana, Coleus scutellaroides (L.) Abstract

Koi carp (C. carpio L.) is one of ornamental fish which has interesting color. The color of C. carpio L influenced its market price. Quality color of C. carpio L must be increased and it could be increased the market price of C. carpio L. Research aims to determine the effect of Spirulina fusiformis powder addition in diet to enhance color brightness of C. carpio L. The research method used was experimental with one factorial Randomized Complete Design with four treatments and six replicatoins. The concentration of S. fusiformis powder given was 1%, 3%, and 5%. Treatments were given for 28 days and next 28 days without S.fusiformis powder addition. The parameter observed was the color brightness of C. carpio L. The observations used Toca Color Finder (TCF). Data was analyzed statistically by ANOVA. The results showed that addition of S. fusiformis powder in diet influenced brightness color of C. carpio L. Feeding with 1% of S. fusiformis in diet resulted in a brighter color compared to other treatments and control on enhancement color brightness of C. carpio L. Results on TCF showed that level of color brightness of C. carpio L was increased. It can be concluded that adding of S. fusiformis powder in diet can increase brightness color of C. carpio L. Key words: Ciprinus carpio, Color brightness, Spirulina fusiformis.

Abstract

Abstract Green shell (Perna viridis) is one of the biota which is food and widely distributed in Cilincing waters. This research aims to know the heavy metal content of Kadmiun (Cd) and Mercury (Hg) in Cilincing Coastal Waters of DKI Jakarta. Green Hanger analyzed the metal content by AAS (Atom absorption spectrophotometer). The results of heavy metal content of Cd and Hg were analyzed descriptively based on the quality standard referring to the Decree of the Food and Drug Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BPOM) of 2016 on the determination of the maximum limit of microbial and chemical contamination in food. The significance value of each sampling station in the test with one-way Anova test. The results showed that the metal content of Cadmium (Cd) ranged from 0.03 mg / kg-0.5 mg / kg. While the mercury metal content (Hg) in green shells (P. viridis) ranged from 0.02 mg / kg-0.06 mg / kg with anova assay results at each study site of p> 0.05. It shows the metal content of cadmium and mercury still in accordance with the standard quality that has been determined with the range of heavy metal content of both cadmium and mercury are not significantly different in each sample location. Abstract

Neem leaves contain flavonoid, triterpenoid and saponin compounds that have antifertility potential to suppress of reproduction rate of rodentia pests. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of neem leaf ethanol extract on gonadosomatic index (GSI), number and size of atresia follicles in female mice. This study used a Completely Randomized Design Method consist of 5 treatments and 4 replications namely K + (Contraceptive Pills); K- (Aqua); P1, P2 and P3 (Treatment of neem leaf ethanol extract at dosage of 8.4 mg / kgBW, 11.2 mg / kgBW and 14 mg / kgBW). The treatment was administered orally at a volume of 0.2 ml / animal every morning for 21 days. Measurement of body weight was conducted at the beginning of treatment and every 7 days. The ovaries were isolated, weighed and histologically processed using paraffin method and H & E staining. the number and diameter of atresia follicles were counted on ovaries. The data was analyzed using ANOVA test and DMRT test at 95% confidence level. The results showed that neem leaf ethanol extract had no significant effect GSI and diameter of atresia follicle but had significant effect on the number of atresia follicle. It can be concluded that neem leaf ethanol extract can increase the number of atresia follicle in mice by suppressing the synthesis and action of reproductive hormone. Keywords: mimba leaf, atresia follicle, GSI, mice

Abstract

Since 2007, Indonesia has been declaring war with malnutrition which are roots of health problems. Research was conducted to found out nutritional status distribution of Akfis UKI students as a preliminary research to evaluate and improving their health status. Research conducted as qualitative descriptive of height, weight and body mass index of 127 persons. Research shown that of Akfis UKI students found 29.9% were stunted; 10.22% obesity; 5% overweight; 19.66% wasted and 3.14% severely wasted. Body mass index’ data correlated with vital signs data of the same students, which are 1.81% hypotension student; 8.17% prehypertension; 3.62% hypertension, dan 21% tachycardia. Correlation of nutritional and vital sign status is 0.11. Therefore, no correlation between body mass index and vital signs. Keywords : body mass index, obesity, wasted
