Abstract

Robotics vision is applying technology on the camera to view the environmental conditions as well as the function of the human eye. Colour object tracking system is one application of robotics vision technology with the ability to follow the object being detected. Several methods have been used to generate a good response position control, but most are still using conventional control approach. Fuzzy logic which includes several step of which is to determine  the  value  of  crisp  input  must  be  fuzzification.  The  output  of  fuzzification  is forwarded to the process of inference in which there are some fuzzy logic rules. The inference output forwarded to the process of defuzzification to be transformed into outputs (crisp output) to drive the servo motors on the X-axis and Y-axis. Fuzzy logic control is applied to the color- based object tracking system, the system is successful to follow a moving object with average speed of 7.35 cm/s in environments with 117 lux light intensity.

Abstract

Long Term Evolution (LTE) network provides a high throughput with low latency which make it suitable for multicast and broadcast services. In Conventional Multicast Scheme (CMS), data is transmitted according to the user with worst channel condition which results in wasting network resources. To overcome the drawback of CMS, a new subgrouping mechanism is proposed to split the multicast group into several subgroups based on users channel quality. The performance of the proposed mechanism has been evaluated using LTE simulator. The simulation results show that the proposed mechanism increase the multicast performance compared to CMS in term of goodput and spectrum efficiency, while maintain fairness index of users in an acceptable level.

Abstract

Every noise problems require different solution. In this research, the noise that must be cancelled comes from roadway. Least Mean Square (LMS) adaptive is one of the algorithm that can be used to cancel that noise. Residual noise always appears and could not be erased completely. This research aims to know the characteristic of residual noise from vehicle’s noise and analysis so that it is no longer appearing as a problem. LMS algorithm was used to predict the vehicle’s noise and minimize the error. The distribution of the residual noise could be observed to determine the specificity of the residual noise. The statistic of the residual noise close to normal distribution with = 0,0435, = 1,13 and the autocorrelation of the residual noise forming impulse. As a conclusion the residual noise is insignificant.

Abstract

The goal of this paper is to get the best potential configuration which can be applied to a physical server without compromising service performance for the clients. Data were compiled by direct observation in the data center observed. Data was then analyzed using the hermeneutics approach to understand the condition by textual data gathered understanding. The results would be the best configuration for a physical server which contains several virtual machines logically separated by its functions. It can be concluded that indeed one physical server machine can be optimized using virtualization so that it may deliver the peak performance of the machine itself and the impact are throughout the organization.

Abstract

This paper shows the implementation of SISO communication system using QAM modulation in WARP. The performance of the proposed system is evaluated in terms of BitError-Rate (BER) for different M-array level: 4, 8, and 16 in indoor and outdoor environments, both using LOS condition. In the analysis results, SISO performance with 4-QAM modulation achieves better performance compared to 8-QAM and 16-QAM for both environments. Meanwhile, SISO performance with QAM modulation in outdoor environment achieves better results compared to indoor environment for different M-array level. In indoor environment with transmitted power -26 dBm, BER achieved for 4-QAM, 8-QAM, and 16-QAM are 1.33 × 10−4, 2.078 × 10−2, and 8.76 × 10−2, respectively. While in outdoor environment with the same transmitted power, BER achieved for 4-QAM, 8-QAM, and 16-QAM are 0, 1.497 × 10−2 and 5.928 × 10−2, respectively. SISO performance using M-QAM modulation is better than using M-PSK modulation

Abstract

Massive technology development is linear with the growth of internet users which increase network traffic activity. It also increases load of the system. The usage of reliable algorithm and mobile agent in distributed load balancing is a viable solution to handle the load issue on a large-scale system. Mobile agent works to collect resource information and can migrate according to given task. We propose reliable load balancing algorithm using least time first byte (LFB) combined with information from the mobile agent. In system overview, the methodology consisted of defining identification system, specification requirements, network topology and design system infrastructure. The simulation method for simulated system was using 1800 request for 10 s from the user to the server and taking the data for analysis. Software simulation was based on Apache Jmeter by observing response time and reliability of each server and then compared it with existing method. Results of performed simulation show that the LFB method with mobile agent can perform load balancing with efficient systems to all backend server without bottleneck, low risk of server overload, and reliable.

Abstract

Disturbance compensation is a challenging problem in quadrotor control, especially in nonzero set point regulation. This paper presents proportional-derivative regulation for nonzero set point on SO(3) with disturbance compensation for quadrotor UAV. Quadrotor nonlinear kinematics and dynamics model in SO(3) are used to design the control law. Disturbance compensation is added to the control law by using the upper bound of the disturbance. The numerical simulation shows that the disturbance compensation is able to counter the disturbance effect and improve the bound of the state variables.

Abstract

Insulation failure on generator winding insulation occurred in the Wonogiri Hydropower plant has caused stator damage since ase was short circuited to ground. The fault has made the generator stop to operate. Wonogiri Hydropower plant is one of the hydroelectric plants run by PT. Indonesia Power UBP Mrica with capacity 2 × 6.2 MW. To prevent damage to occur again on hydropower generators, an analysis is carried out using Root Cause Failure Analysis RCFA is a systematic approach to identify the root cause of the main orbasic root cause of a problem or a condition that is not wanted. There are several aspects to concerned such as: loading pattern and operations, protection systems, generator insulation resistance, vibration, the cleanliness of the air and the ambient air. Insulation damage caused by gradual inhomogeneous cooling at the surface of winding may lead in to partial discharge. In homogeneous cooling may present due to lattice hampered by dust and oil deposits. To avoid repetitive defects and unwanted condition above, it is necessary to perform major maintenance overhaul every 5000-6000 hours of operation.

Abstract

One of the main issue in Content Based Image Retrieval (CIBR) is similarity measures for resulting image hashes. The main key challenge is to find the most benefits distance or similarity measures for calculating the similarity in term of speed and computing costs, specially under limited computing capabilities device like mobile phone. This study we utilize twelve most common and popular distance or similarity measures technique implemented in mobile phone application, to be compared and studied. The results show that all similarity measures implemented in this study was perform equally under mobile phone application. This gives more possibilities for method combinations to be implemented for image retrieval.
