Abstract

College student offering A-A of Biology Education 2013 University of Malang force has a problem in rhetoric, seen from the use of language which is less effective at teaching basic skills performance. These problems, if left unchecked will have an impact on the difficulty of the increase in basic teaching skills. This study aims to improve basic teaching skills in materials explaining skills and open lessons. This research is a classroom action research (PTK) based Lesson Study. Data basic teaching skills gained through observation and documentation. Data were analyzed by using qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the basic teaching skills have increased, especially in explaining the skill and open skill lessons. Based on the results of this study concluded that the application of modeling combined with Student Investation can improve basic teaching skills of students on the material to explain the skills and open lessons.Keywords : Modeling, Student Investation, Lesson Study, Teaching Basic Capabilities

Abstract

The learning process are many stimulus interaction have to increase motivation in learning activities. Beginning with the learning experience from students that involve brain mechanism to processing of information into long-term memory structures. Student as subjects of learning have any problems, such as their creativity level is low to make solutions idea about some problems. Based on the problems about the low level creativity of student, the research to analyze the creativity level with making mind map and describe the role of neurosains about them. The subjects of all students in department of science education, there are 36 students. Based on result the students get 5 score for display aspect, 3 score for colors and images, 3 score for keywords, 3 score relationships about main branch with other branches, and 3 score for exploration aspect. Based on average score, the lowest score is 64 and highest score is 80. The students get score in range of 64-69 for 5 students, 70-79 for 30 students, and 80 for 1 student.Keywords: mind map, creativity, neurosains

Abstract

This research aimed to develop students worksheet based scientific approaches on senior high school.  This study consisted of three phases: analysis, design and development. The worksheets focused on improving the thinking skills of students grade X, XI and XII. Grade X on the material change and environmental conservation focused on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), grade XI on organ systems focused on Critical Thinking Skills, and grade XII on biotechnology materials focused on Creative thinking skills. Simulation test conducted at the Biology Education Laboratory of the University of Riau The scoring of worksheets validated by internal and external validator. Then pilot test on MAN 2, SMA Babussalam, and SMAN 8 Pekanbaru.  The Results of the assessment showed that wosksheets based scientific approach has a very valid and valid category that consist a pedagogical aspect, construction, technical and thinking skills. Students' response to worksheets a very good and good category. From the results of this study concluded that the worksheets based scientific approach has the potential to be implemented on a wider scope.Keywords: Student Worksheets, Thinking Skills, Scientific Approach

Abstract

Observation result in SMPN 2 Kalisat-Jember showed the students character and  achievement in class VII-E still low. This problem can be fixed with the implementation Think Talk Write combined with Talking Stick. The purpose of this research was to increase  students character, achievement, and completeness of student achievement. This research was Classroom Action Research. Result of this research, there was increasing character from first cycle until second cycle.  Inquiring sense character increased to BT (Belum Terlihat) or (Not Appeared) with percentage 67.10%. Then discipline character increased on MB (Mulai Berkembang) or (Start Growing) with percentage 51,31%. Then responsibility character increased on MK (Menjadi Karakter) or (Start Consistent) with percentage 47,36%. The increase of average achievement was 77,1 and classical thoroughness in cognitive aspect was increased become 78,94%. It concluded that cooperative learning model of Think Talk Write with Talking Stick can increased students character, achievement, and completeness of students achievement in class VII E SMP Negeri 2 Kalisat Jember.Keywords: think talk write, talking stick, students character, achievement

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the innovative ideas related to the concept of plant natomy and learning outcomes are achieved. This research was carried out by implementing a pattern of lecture-based problem solving. Through problem solving, students can develop the thinking process to find the problem and think about a solution, at the same time bring innovative ideas.  Indicators of thinking skills that can be used to mark the emergence and possible feasibility of innovative ideas include learning outcomes (1) formulating the proposed study plant anatomy relevant to the phenomenon that is chosen as the background of the results of the appreciation of the performance problem resolution and (2) the visibility of innovative ideas, including ( a) formulation of the problem, (b) the formulation of objectives, (c) the formulation of temporary answer, (d) the definition of the factors or variables that were examined, (e) definition of factors or variables are equal, (f) the definition of the factors or variables were observed, (g ) formulation of outcome indicators, and (h) working draft. The results obtained showed the longer experience of student learning through problem solving, the more students are able to formulate innovative ideas. There is a link between the learning outcomes concept of plant anatomy with the achievements of thinking skills are realized through innovative ideas formulated.Keywords: Problem Solving Strategies, Plant Anatomy, Innovative Idea
