Abstract

AbstractFactors That Affect Consumer Demand Against Local Oranges in Denpasar CityThis study aims to test the accuracy of demand function model to approach the demand local oranges in Denpasar, identify the factors that affect consumer demand to local oranges in Denpasar, and estimate the elasticity of citrus nobilis demand in Denpasar. Location choosen purposely those in the kreneng market, ketapian market, sanglah market, and badung markets. The population on this research are the buyers of local oranges fruit. Samples taken as many as 50 people use purposive sampling techniques. This research using two demand function models namely linier demand function and Cobb-Douglas demand function who tested with three criteria which resulted the best model. Independent variable that affects was : the price of local oranges (x1), the price of import oranges (x2), the price of apples (x3), the price of mango (x4), family income (x5), and extended family (x6). Cobb-Douglas demand function model namely LnY = 2,912 - 1,109LnX1* - 1,461LnX2* - 1,579LnX3* +1,383LnX4* + 0,622LnX5* + 1,449LnX6*. Factors that affects are the price of local oranges, the price of other fruit (import oranges, apple, mango ), family income, andthe number of family members. Price elasticity on the demand of local oranges is elastic. Complementary goods namely import orange fruit and apples. Substitutiongoods namely mango. Income elasticity showed that local oranges is inelastic. Consumers should choose the local oranges, because more assured quality and isproduced domestically.

Abstract

Abstract Farmers’ Perception on the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) in Subak Yeh Anakan, Negara District, Jembrana Regency The need for the agricultural sector is increasing; various policies have been taken by the government to increase rice production in Indonesia. SRI is one approach to rice cultivation practice that emphasizes the management of soil, plants, and irrigation water through the group empowerment based on environmentally-friendly activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the perception of farmers on SRI in Subak Yeh Anakan, in Jembrana Regency. The scope of this research was the study of the perception of one of the central government programs namely SRI which is located in the district of Negara. This study used qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on the survey results, it was revealed that the perception of farmers on SRI in Subak Yeh Anakan was classified into good category by achieving a score of 76.76%. For the development of the SRI programs in Subak Yeh Anakan to be sustainable, it is suggested that the Government of Jembrana through the Department of Agriculture and Forestry should more intensively provide guidance to farmers and agricultural extension personnel should develop technical extension that can encourage farmers to adopt SRI independently.

Abstract

Abstract Business Diversification of Farmregions in the Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream Regional Irrigation Mambal Diversification of farming is one of the main programs of agricultural development . Program development of diversification of farming in paddy fields is one of the strategies in an effort to stabilize farm income , expansion of employment opportunities and poverty reduction  (Pakpahan , 1990) . Seeing the importance of diversification for the stability of farmers 'income , it is interesting to study how to diversify farming in Mambal Irrigation Area, ( the upstream, midstream and downstream ) and their effects on farmers' income. The specific purpose of this study was to determine the level of farm diversification in the upstream, midstream , and downstream in the flow of irrigation Mambal farm diversification and determine the effect on the income of farmers in the upstream, midstream , and downstream in the flow of irrigation Mambal . The location determination is done intentionally ( purposive ) . The population in this study are all farmers who diversify his farming business .. population is three Subak is Ayung Buduk , Sembung , and Canggu . Then a total of 30 farmers selected proportionally according to the third area of the water control system , so it can be said to represent the entire population, which in this study serve as a peasant family research unit . Analysis of the data used in this research is the analysis of qualitative data is used to determine the field conditions and constraints encountered , as well as farmers' perceptions of diversification and quantitative analysis is used to determine the level of diversification and income . Results from this study was the influence of diversification of the income of farmers in the research area , as well as the absence of barriers in the irrigation water.

Abstract

AbstractAnalysis Income Farmers Potato in the Village Candikuning, the Subdistrict Baturiti, the District TabananOne of the goals of horticulture development is the increase in farmers' income achieved through increased production and productivity. Horticulture development in Indonesia in the future be driven toward agribusiness system, for example in the village of Tabanan Candikuning which is a village developer horticulture planting all kinds of crops, especially potatoes. To assist in the marketing of potatoes are usually farmers or to cooperate with the relevant agencies where most farmers do partnerships, while there are also other farmers who do not follow the partnership. Under these conditions, this study aims to determine the ratio between the income of farmers who follow a partnership with farmers who do not follow Candikuning partnerships in the village of Tabanan. The data in this study was obtained through interview, observation and documentation, which is then analyzed using qualitative quantitative methods.The results showed that the income of farmers who followed the partnership Rp. 44.326 million while the income of farmers who do not follow the partnership Rp. 17.635 million, with this show that farmers who followed the partnership more beneficial than the farmers who do not follow the partnership. Limitations of quality seeds to farmers to make the production process is hampered because the seeds are supplied directly from outside the area, so if there is a delay in ordering seeds will greatly affect the process production potatoes.

Abstract

Abstract Community Preference in Buying Oranges in Denpasar City, Bali Orange is one of the fruits that are often consumed by people. There are various types of local and import oranges in the market. In determining the choice or making decisions in product selection, every consumer are affected by preference. Preference is the tendency of consumer to choose one product rather than other products. Factors that are affecting consumer preferences in buying oranges are orange’s quality, social aspects, economic aspects, motivation, and continuity.The study conclude that the community preference in buying oranges in Denpasar city can be classified as a lot (7,105). The primary factor that has the greatest role is orange’s quality (19,05%), and social aspect (14,73%) has the lowest against the role of community preferences in buying oranges in Denpasar city. Secondary factor that have the greatest role ini community preferences in buying oranges are orange’s flavor (7,26%), and the lowest role of secondary factor is public knowledge regarding oranges (4,80%).
