Abstract

The effect ot the type of herbicide to controlling weeds and the increasing thegrowth and yield of rice plants in tabelaltot planting system. Rice plants are the most important crop cultivation because most of the population makes rice as a staple food. Efforts to support the fulfillment of rice needsare made by maintaining rice productivity. Increased rice productivity is currently stillexperiencing obstacles such as in improper crop cultivation techniques and problemsin weed control, therefore proper weed cultivation and control techniques need to beassessed. The purpose of this research was to find out the type of herbicide that is mosteffective in controlling weeds and can increase the growth and yield of rice plants intabelaltot planting system. This study used a randomized block design (RCBD) with4 treatments, namely control (without herbicide treatment), logran herbicide,metafuron herbicide and benfuron herbicide. The treatment was repeated six times.The results showed that the herbicide treatment significantly affected the weight of thedried grain harvest compared with control. Logran herbicide treatment showed thehighest dry grain weight of ha-1 harvest was 8.38 tons / ha-1 and significantly differentfrom the control of 6.00 tons / ha-1, the high yield was due to the ability of logranherbicide that could suppress growth of the highest weeds, namely 77% compared toherbicides metafuron namely 57% and benfuron namely 56% and significantlydifferent compared to controls, the competition that occurred between rice plants andweeds in logran herbicide treatment was less so that it made yields increase.

Abstract

Endophytic Fungi Isolation on Balinese Grape Plants (Vitis vinifera L. var.Alphonso Lavalle ) and its Effectivenese to Control Grey Mold Disease on Balinese Grape Gray mold rot is the disease caused by pathogen Botrytis cinerea. It is animportant disease in grapes (Vitis vinifera L.) since it can reduce the quantity andquality of grapes. Nowadays people use synthetic fungicides to control the pathogen,but the cost of synthetic fungicides is expensive and continuous usage will give anegative impact to the environment therefore endophytic fungus is an alternative waythat can be used to control the pathogen in grapes. The purpose of this study was toobtain endophytic fungi and obtain the best endophytic fungus to control gray moldrot pathogens. This study uses two methods which are in vitro endophytic fungalantagonist test and in vivo endophytic fungal antagonist test in the laboratory. Theresults showed that there were 10 endophytic fungi. The results of in vitro and in vivotests showed that the best endophytic fungus was Miselia sterilia A as confirmed bythe percentage of inhibition of Miselia sterilia A in the in vitro test of 82.14% and thesmallest percentage of pathogen attack in the in vivo test of 6%.

Abstract

Identification and Population Abundance of Leaf Miner (Liriomyza spp.) (Diptera: Agromyzidae) on Onion Plant (Alium ascalonicum L.) and WelshOnion (Allium fistolosum L.) This research was conducted in order to determine the species and abundance population of leaf miner which attacked the onion plant (Alium ascalonicum L.) andwelsh onion (Allium fistolosum L.). The sample in this research was taken by purposivemethod by taking 100 leaves per species of onion in Bangli and Tabanan Regencies.The leaf sample was reared in a bottle container and the emerged adult insects of theleaf miner were identified morphologically. The results showed the leaf miner speciesthat attacked onions plant and welsh onion were Liriomyza chinensis and Liriomyzahuidobrensis. The leaf miner species found on onion plant in Songan Village, BangliRegency was L. chinensis with an abundance of 100% (324 adult insects). Meanwhile,in Batusesa Village, Tabanan Regency, which is the center of welsh onion production,two species of leaf miner were found, namely L. chinensis and L. huidobrensis withan abundance of L. chinensis 97.0% (258 adult insects) and L. huidobrensis 3.0% (8adult insects). In generally, L. chinensis is a species of leaf miner which dominate theonion plantations.

Abstract

The Effect of Lateral Branch Trimming Against Results and Quality of LongBean Seeds (Vigna sinensis L.) This study aims to determine the effect of the number of leaves that are left on the lateral branch roasting on the results of young pods of long bean plants. Thistudy uses a randomized block design (RBD). Treatment of the number of leaves lefton lateral branch pruning includes: total lateral pruning, leaving 2 leaves, leaving 4eaves, leaving 6 leaves and leaving 8 leaves on lateral branch pruning. This researchwas repeated 5 times, so as many as 25 experimental units were obtained. Variablesobserved included: main stem length, total number of leaves per plant, total leaf areaper plant, fresh weight and oven dry weight of plant parts above ground, number ofharvest pods per plant, fresh pod weight per plant, weight of oven dried pods perplant and the weight of fresh pods per hectare. The results showed that more leaveswere left on the lateral branch pruning causing the number of leaves, leaf area,weight of the plant part above the ground, and oven dry weight of the plant part onhe ground to increase. Total lateral pruning pruning treatment resulted in the numberof crop harvest pods, fresh pod weight, and oven pod dry weight with the highestaverage value. The total lateral pruning treatment resulted in the highest per hectarefresh pod weight of 25.59 tons.

Abstract

Effectiveness of Clove Leaf Extract (Syzygium aromaticum L.) againstPhytophthora palmivora the Cause of Cocoa Fruit Rot (Theobroma cacao L.) Cocoa fruit rot caused by Phytophthora palmivora is one of the main diseases that can greatly reduce the yield of cocoa production in the world. Therefore it isnecessary to control the disease in an environmentally friendly way. One of which isusing botanical pesticides. Clove leaf is one of the plants which extract can be usedas a fungicide. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of clove leaf extract onP. palmivora the cause of cocoa fruit rot. MIC test and colony test was done using 10extract concentrations namely 0,1; 0,2; 0,3; 0,4; 0,5; 0,6; 0,7; 0,8; 0,9; 1,0 and 0,0%(control). The in vivo test uses 6 extract concentrations of 0,5; 0,6; 0,7; 0,8; 0,9; 1,0and 0,0% (control). The results showed the MIC (minimum inhibitory concentration)of clove leaf extract to suppress the growth of P. palmivora was 0.5% which means itis feasible to be used as a botanical pesticide. Under in vivo condition, clove leaf extractinhibited the growth of fungal colonies and infection and can be used as fungicide tosuppress the growth of P. palmivora. The extract concentration of 1% prevented thedamage of cocoa fruit caused by P. palmivora by 100%.

Abstract

The Mapping Potential Location of Evacuation Due to the Mount AgungEruption Disaster in Karangasem Regency Based on Geographic Information System (GIS) The eruption of Mount Agung was a disaster for people in Karangasem Regency. The volcanic eruption caused loss of life. One of the countermeasures washe provision of location point for evacuation based on geographic informationystem and the construction of WebGIS with the ArcGIS Online program so that itcan be accessed by people easily. This research was done in December 2018 untilApril 2019. The methods were used field survey and scoring method that utilizingpatial data. The survey was done outside of the disaster-prone area in KarangasemRegency and dangerous radius 6, 9 and 12 km based on Mount Agung disaster areamap, the Province of Bali such as school, balai banjar and sport field. School, balaibanjar and sport field have the potential to become refugee camps. The School hashe high and medium potential classes that are 102 and 92 places. Balai banjar hashigh, medium and low potential classes that are 126, 101 and 20 places. Sport fieldhas medium and low potential classes that are 1 and 6 each places. The informationystem of potential refugee locations in Karangasem Regency based on WebGIS canprovide information to the government and the community so that it can reduce thempact caused by the disaster of Mount Agung. Abstract

Diseases Symptoms Observation at 12 Species of Citrus Plants This study was conducted to observe symptoms that showed by citrus plantswhich already tested by PCR carry CVPDr DNA Fragment. CVPDr is resistance geneto prevent plant from CVPD diseases. Based on observations in the field showed thatfive from twelve species showed the symptoms even already carry the gene. Five ofthem are Citrus reticulata Selayer Buleleng, Citrus nobilis Buleleng, Citrus nobilisPecatu, Citrus nobilis Tabanan, dan Citrus reticulata Keprok Gianyar. Mutationanalysis and homology analysis should be done after this observation to know whythis gene is not functional to prevent CVPD diseases.

Abstract

Fecundity of Nematode (Meloidogyne spp.) in Some Plants Belonging to the Solanaceae Family The Solanaceae family is a plants that has a function to meet human food. Although the production of the Solanaceae Family in Indonesia is quite high, it hasnot been able to fulfill the Indonesian Population needs. This is caused by severalfactors and one of them is the attack of pests and diseases that can cause crop failure.Pest that causes a decrease in the Solanaceae family is root bran nematodes,(Meloidogyne spp.) The purpose of the study is to determine the level of penetrationand fecundity of nematodes in several plants belonging to the Solanaceae family, andto obtain species host plants that are less favored than the plants tested Thar can beused as an alternative control of nematoda. This study using a CompletelyRandomized Design (CRD), with 4 types of treatment each using 6 replications with2 research objects to obtain 48 units/plant pots. The results is penetration rate andfecundity rate were highest in tomato plants, then in eggplant plants, chili plants, andthe lowest in cayenne. The result can be used as an alternative to reduce thepopulation of nematoda (Meloidogyne spp.) in the field.
