Abstract

ABSTRACT The development of disciplined character is a key priority in education; however, its implementation in schools still faces challenges, particularly in fostering consistent student behavior. Although numerous studies have examined the role of religious activities in character building, research that explores the contextual implementation process within school settings remains limited. This study aims to analyze the implementation of dhuha prayer in shaping the disciplined character of seventh-grade female students at SMP Islam Sahabat Ilmu Karawang. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using an interactive model with triangulation to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that the routine implementation of dhuha prayer before classroom instruction contributes to the development of disciplined behavior, particularly in terms of punctuality, adherence to rules, and responsibility, with participation rates reaching 90–95%. However, several challenges were identified, including limited facilities and varying levels of student readiness. This study confirms that the habituation of dhuha prayer is an effective mechanism for fostering discipline through the integration of consistently practiced religious activities. The findings suggest that character formation is influenced not only by formal regulations but also by sustained habituation processes within the school environment. ABSTRAK Pembentukan karakter disiplin menjadi salah satu prioritas dalam pendidikan, namun praktik di sekolah masih menghadapi kendala, terutama dalam membangun konsistensi perilaku peserta didik. Meskipun berbagai studi telah mengkaji peran kegiatan keagamaan dalam penguatan karakter, penelitian yang menelaah proses implementasinya secara kontekstual di lingkungan sekolah masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan shalat dhuha dalam membentuk karakter disiplin siswi kelas VII di SMP Islam Sahabat Ilmu Karawang. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara interaktif dengan memastikan keabsahan melalui triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan shalat dhuha secara rutin sebelum pembelajaran berkontribusi terhadap pembentukan perilaku disiplin, terutama dalam aspek ketepatan waktu, kepatuhan terhadap aturan, dan tanggung jawab, dengan tingkat partisipasi mencapai 90–95%. Meskipun demikian, masih ditemukan kendala seperti keterbatasan fasilitas dan kesiapan sebagian siswa. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa pembiasaan shalat dhuha efektif sebagai mekanisme pembentukan disiplin melalui integrasi praktik religius yang dilakukan secara konsisten. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan karakter tidak hanya dipengaruhi oleh aturan formal, tetapi juga oleh proses pembiasaan yang berkelanjutan dalam lingkungan sekolah.
