Abstract

The development of digital technology has made social media algorithms a dominant factor in shaping people's consumption behavior. This research aims to analyze the role of social media algorithms in creating consumer culture in Indonesia's digital economy era. Using a qualitative approach and an exploratory case study design, the study involved 18 participants consisting of active consumers, digital business actors, and digital culture experts. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, digital observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles & Huberman interactive model through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that social media algorithms influence consumer culture through three main mechanisms: personalized recommendation, viral loop effect, and cultural embedding. The majority of respondents admitted to trusting algorithmic recommendations more than manual searches, even encouraging more impulsive consumption behavior. Interviews with business actors revealed that algorithms accelerate trend cycles, create digital product hierarchies, and build consumer dependency. This research confirms that algorithms are not merely technical instruments but also cultural actors that shape consumption patterns and social identities. These findings have implications for digital business strategies, consumer literacy, and the formulation of consumer protection policies in the digital economy era.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the contribution of IoT-based smart energy management towards operational efficiency and sustainability of manufacturing systems in the context of Industry 4.0. Using a quantitative correlational design, data were collected from 100 professional respondents in the manufacturing sector through questionnaires and structured interviews. Statistical analysis was performed using Pearson correlation, linear regression, t-test, and ANOVA with the help of SPSS software. The results showed a very strong and significant relationship between the use of IoT-based smart energy management systems and energy efficiency (r = 0.849), operational efficiency (r = 0.706), and environmental sustainability (r = 0.774). Linear regression showed that the use of the technology explained 72.1% of the variability in energy efficiency (R² = 0.721; p < 0.001). The ANOVA results also showed significant differences between groups of technology users in terms of efficiency achievements. These findings indicate that IoT-based smart energy management can be an important strategy in digital transformation and more sustainable industrial decision-making. This study contributes to developing smart-manufacturing energy theory and provides practical implications for industrial management in implementing adaptive, connected, and environmentally friendly energy systems.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of health chatbot usage on patient satisfaction and lifestyle management in type 2 diabetes patients. The background of the study is based on the increasing prevalence of diabetes in Indonesia and the limited medical personnel, which cause patients to not always receive continuous support. Health chatbots are seen as an innovative solution based on artificial intelligence (AI) that can provide information, education, and reminders interactively. The research method used a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design involving 220 respondents with type 2 diabetes in urban areas of Indonesia. Data were collected through a Likert-scale-based questionnaire, semi-structured interviews, and observations of patient interactions in digital health communities. Analysis was performed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the relationship between variables. The results showed that chatbot usage had a significant positive effect on patient satisfaction (β=0.338, p<0.001) and lifestyle management (β=0.206, p<0.01). Patient satisfaction also significantly influenced lifestyle management (β=0.285, p<0.001) and partially mediated the effect of chatbots on lifestyle (β=0.097, 95% CI [0.043–0.165]). These findings confirm that health chatbots have the potential to become an integral part of digital healthcare services, although their impact on patient physical activity is still limited.

Abstract

The implementation of interoperable Electronic Health Records (EHRs) is essential for strengthening integrated, patient-centered healthcare delivery in Indonesia; however, district hospitals continue to face substantial barriers in aligning local hospital information systems with the national SATUSEHAT platform. This study aimed to identify and analyze the technical, organizational, regulatory, and human resource barriers affecting EHR interoperability readiness in Indonesian district hospitals. A convergent parallel mixed-methods design was employed across 12 type C and D district hospitals in West Java, Central Kalimantan, and East Nusa Tenggara. Data collection was conducted during the e januari-maret period in 2025. Quantitative data were collected from 240 respondents using a structured questionnaire based on the Technology-Organization-Environment framework and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology, while qualitative data were obtained through interviews and focus group discussions with 36 key informants. The findings showed that vendor and system interoperability, technical infrastructure readiness, and human resource competency were the most critical barriers. Logistic regression indicated that low infrastructure readiness, weak vendor interoperability, limited digital literacy, lower hospital digital maturity, and geographic location significantly predicted low interoperability readiness. Qualitative findings further revealed vendor lock-in, unstable connectivity, limited training, budget constraints, and regulatory implementation gaps. In conclusion, EHR interoperability in Indonesian district hospitals requires not only technical standardization, but also sustained organizational support, workforce capacity-building, stronger vendor governance, and differentiated policy assistance for hospitals with lower digital maturity. This study is novel in that it applies a convergent parallel mixed-methods design integrating the TOE and UTAUT frameworks specifically at the district-hospital level (RSUD type C and D) across provinces with contrasting digital maturity, an analytical scope that has not been jointly examined in prior Indonesian EHR interoperability research.
