Abstract

Assessment in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at the elementary level remains largely focused on written examinations that prioritize cognitive achievement, while affective competence is insufficiently evaluated because direct observation is limited and conventional assessment tends to be subjective. Previous studies have mostly treated video as a learning medium rather than an authentic assessment instrument. Therefore, this study analyzes the implementation of short video-based authentic assessment to measure students’ affective competence in Islamic Religious Education learning. The study used a mixed-methods sequential explanatory design involving 30 sixth-grade students at an elementary school in Batang Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. Data were collected through observation, video assessment, semi-structured interviews, and documentation using an affective rubric covering empathy, apologizing awareness, sincerity in forgiving, self-reflection, and authenticity of expression. The findings showed an average affective competence score of 13.95 out of 20, categorized as good. Authenticity of expression achieved the highest score, whereas self-reflection received the lowest. Overall, short video-based assessment provided more contextual, flexible, and objective evaluation than conventional methods while increasing student engagement and strengthening authentic assessment practices through digital technology integration. The approach also encouraged reflective learning, emotional expression, and meaningful participation during Islamic Religious Education activities among elementary students

Abstract

Perkembangan media sosial telah mengubah pola komunikasi antara guru dan siswa, sekaligus memunculkan tantangan etika terkait batasan privasi dan profesionalitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dinamika etika komunikasi guru dan siswa di media sosial melalui perspektif Teori Manajemen Privasi Komunikasi (CPM). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, melalui studi pustaka dan analisis isi terhadap literatur yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi di ruang digital cenderung mengaburkan batas antara ranah pribadi dan profesional, sehingga memicu turbulensi privasi ketika aturan tidak dipahami secara bersama. Guru dan siswa berperan sebagai pemilik bersama informasi, sehingga diperlukan koordinasi batas privasi yang jelas. Permasalahan etika seperti oversharing, pelanggaran privasi, dan cyberbullying menjadi tantangan utama. Selain itu, perbedaan literasi digital dan generasi turut memperlebar kesenjangan komunikasi. Penerapan strategi manajemen privasi yang tepat, seperti penetapan batas dan pengelolaan informasi secara bertanggung jawab, menjadi kunci menjaga profesionalitas dan kepercayaan. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya penguatan etika komunikasi digital dalam mendukung interaksi pendidikan yang aman dan konstruktif.

Abstract

The focus and purpose of this research is about the KKN Ecotheology and Land activities, where this activity is carried out to identify and provide solutions to problems in Karangdadap Village. One of the focuses of the KKN activities of group 13 of the K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan State Islamic University is to carry out socialization related to waste sorting to women's groups, socialization and implementation of waste banks in junior high schools, socialization of making aromatherapy candles from used cooking oil, socialization of biopores, socialization of anti-bullying in MIS Karangdadap and SDN Karangdadap, socialization of waste sorting and making trash cans from used gallons in SDN Karangdadap, additional teaching at MIS Karangdadap, teaching at Paud Menur and handling the problem of uncertified waqf land. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method through observation, surveys and activity planning and documentation as data collection techniques carried out in Karangdadap Village, Karangdadap District, Pekalongan Regency. The results of this study indicate that the Thematic Community Service Program (KKN) in Ecotheology and Land Management increased community awareness and participation in environmental management, supported improvements in educational quality, and identified issues related to uncertified waqf land in Karangdadap Village.
