Situational Competition in the Humorous Discourse of the Cak Lontong Stand-Up Comedy Event at the East Java Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) Abstract: This study examines the strategies used to create situational competition in Cak Lontong's stand-up comedy discourse, focusing on how speakers adapt their utterances to produce humorous effects according to the social context. The purpose of this study is to describe unstrategic competition, familiarity competition, formal competition, and disguised competition in humorous discourse. The pragmatic approach was chosen because it is able to examine politeness strategies and interactions between participants in the conversation. The research data comes from the YouTube program "Cak Lontong Stand Up Comedy at BPSDM Jatim" and is analyzed qualitatively verbally, using reading and note-taking techniques to describe the meaning of utterances according to context. The results show that unstrategic competition is used to convey direct criticism to the interlocutor, familiarity competition is implemented through attention and greetings that strengthen relationships, formal competition appears in the context of government rules and protocols, while disguised competition displays an implicit comparison of events. This study confirms that each strategy forms different meanings between the speaker and the interlocutor, and humor in Cak Lontong's discourse is the result of complex pragmatic interactions, which combine politeness, situational context, and the speaker's communicative goals.
