Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Green Human Resource Management (Green HRM)-based performance appraisal in improving employee performance and organizational sustainability in the Indonesian banking sector. The study employed a qualitative method using literature review and case study approaches on several national banks, namely Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Bank Mandiri, and Bank Central Asia (BCA). Data were collected from scientific journals, corporate sustainability reports, and related documents on Green HRM implementation. The findings indicate that Green HRM-based performance appraisal through indicators such as energy efficiency, operational digitalization, paperless systems, and employee involvement in sustainability programs can improve productivity, employee engagement, and pro-environmental work behavior. Furthermore, Green HRM implementation contributes to operational efficiency, the strengthening of sustainable organizational culture, and corporate reputation enhancement. Therefore, Green HRM serves as an important strategy in supporting digital transformation and organizational sustainability in the era of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran penilaian kinerja berbasis Green Human Resource Management (Green HRM) dalam meningkatkan kinerja karyawan dan keberlanjutan organisasi pada sektor perbankan di Indonesia. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur dan studi kasus pada beberapa bank nasional, yaitu Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Bank Mandiri, dan Bank Central Asia (BCA). Data diperoleh melalui jurnal ilmiah, laporan keberlanjutan perusahaan, serta dokumen terkait implementasi Green HRM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan penilaian kinerja berbasis Green HRM melalui indikator efisiensi energi, digitalisasi operasional, pengurangan penggunaan kertas, dan keterlibatan dalam program sustainability mampu meningkatkan produktivitas, employee engagement, serta perilaku kerja pro-lingkungan. Selain itu, implementasi Green HRM juga berkontribusi terhadap efisiensi operasional, penguatan budaya organisasi berkelanjutan, dan peningkatan reputasi perusahaan. Dengan demikian, Green HRM menjadi strategi penting dalam mendukung transformasi digital dan keberlanjutan organisasi perbankan di era Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).

Abstract

Training and human resource development are important factors in improving the competence of banking employees in Indonesia, especially amid digital transformation and increasing competition in the financial industry. This study aims to analyze the effect of training and human resource development on improving the competence of banking employees using a qualitative method with a literature review approach. The data were obtained from various scientific journals and relevant previous studies. The results indicate that training and human resource development have a positive effect on improving technical skills, service quality, technological adaptability, and employee productivity in the banking sector. Therefore, banking companies need to continuously improve sustainable human resource development programs. Pelatihan dan pengembangan SDM merupakan faktor penting dalam meningkatkan kompetensi karyawan perbankan di Indonesia, terutama di tengah perkembangan teknologi digital dan persaingan industri keuangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh pelatihan dan pengembangan SDM terhadap peningkatan kompetensi karyawan perbankan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan literature review. Data diperoleh dari berbagai jurnal ilmiah dan penelitian terdahulu yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan dan pengembangan SDM berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan teknis, pelayanan, adaptasi teknologi, dan produktivitas kerja karyawan perbankan. Oleh karena itu, perusahaan perbankan perlu terus meningkatkan program pengembangan SDM secara berkelanjutan.
