Abstract

This inquiry explores the pivotal determinants of performance among university students in Cirebon City who simultaneously navigate the demands of part-time employment. Anchored in a quantitative paradigm, the study deployed a survey mechanism to a cohort of 131 individuals managing these dual responsibilities. The gathered empirical data were subjected to rigorous analysis via Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Statistical evidence confirms that achieving a harmonious work-life balance significantly bolsters student performance. However, the analysis further illuminates that work engagement plays a substantially more commanding role, emerging as the primary predictor of performance outcomes. Consequently, these findings suggest that while equilibrium between roles is beneficial, the intensity of a student’s psychological immersion in their work is the critical driver for sustaining high academic and occupational standards.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of work stress on work productivity with social support as a moderating variable for SPX Express Luragung Hub employees. The dynamic and high-pressure logistics work environment has the potential to give rise to work stress which results in decreased productivity. The research used a quantitative approach with a survey method of 83 respondents using saturated sampling techniques. Analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The research results show that work stress has a negative and significant effect on work productivity (β = -0.296; p < 0.05). Social support was proven to significantly moderate this relationship (β = 0.208; p < 0.05), thereby weakening the negative impact of work stress. These findings emphasize the importance of managing work stress and strengthening social support in maintaining the productivity of logistics sector employees.

Abstract

This study examines the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between perceived organizational support and intention to stay among employees in the Food & Beverage (F&B) industry in Cirebon. The study is motivated by the high turnover rate within the F&B sector, which requires organizations to better understand psychological factors that contribute to employee retention. A quantitative research design was employed using a survey method involving 110 employees selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that perceived organizational support has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. Job satisfaction, in turn, significantly influences employees’ intention to stay. Furthermore, perceived organizational support directly affects intention to stay; however, the effect becomes stronger when mediated by job satisfaction. These results confirm that job satisfaction functions as a partial mediator that strengthens the relationship between organizational support and employee retention. Therefore, enhancing organizational support accompanied by strategies aimed at improving job satisfaction is essential for increasing employee loyalty and long-term retention in the F&B industry.

Abstract

Employee retention has become a critical issue in public sector organizations due to increasing workforce mobility and organizational restructuring, making it important to understand key factors that influence employees’ wilingness to continue working within an organization. This study investigates the impact of motivation and employee well-being on employee retention at Perum BULOG Cirebon Branch. A quantitative research method with a causal associative design was applied, involving all 66 employees as respondents using a saturated sampling technique. Data were obtained using structured questionnaires and subsequently analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. The findings demonstrate that the measurement model satisfies the requirement of convergent validity, discriminant validity, and reliability, as indicated by acceptable outer loading values, Average Variance Extracted (AVE), Cronbach’s alpha, and composite reliability exceeding the recommended thresholds. Structural model analysis reveals that motivation and employee well-being simultaneously explain 50.5% of the variance in employee retention and demonstrate adequate predictive relevance. Hypothesis testing shows that motivation exerts a positive and significant influence on employee retention, while employee well-being also has a positive and significant effect with a stronger influence. These findings confirm that both motivation and employee well-being are essential determinants in strengthening employee retention within public sector organizations.
