Abstract

In the digital era, the role and obligations of the teaching profession have undergone significant changes due to advancements in information and communication technology. Teachers are now not only tasked with teaching and educating, but also function as facilitators, innovators, motivators, and agents in continuous professional development. This research aims to examine teachers' obligations in the context of digital learning, by highlighting digital literacy skills, the utilization of educational technology, and the implementation of technology-based evaluation. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review, data were collected from various sources such as books, journals, proceedings, and regulations related to the teaching profession. The findings indicate that teachers need to develop four main competencies like pedagogic, professional, social, and personality and be capable of applying innovative learning models such as blended learning, flipped classroom, gamification, and the use of LMS. However, challenges such as the digital divide, limited access to technology, and resistance to change remain obstacles. For this reason, Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is a strategic step to ensure teachers remain relevant and competent in the digital era.
