Abstract

Rapid urban development is putting pressure on the availability of green open spaces and the quality of the urban environment. This study aims to analyse the economic value of Pagutan green open space from the perspective of public, formulate a fee structure and sustainable management strategy for it. The study employed a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design, combining quantitative analysis using the Contingent Valuation Method with a bidding game approach, as well as qualitative analysis through informant interviews and observation. Data were collected from 145 respondents that analysed using multiple linear regression and community participation analysis. The results indicates that the yearly total economic value of the green urban space is about Rp476.056.512 counted from visitors’ willingness to pay for its existence. Visitors’ age, income, education, visit frequency, distance from residence, and perceptions of green open spaces significantly impacting visitors’ willingness to pay. Community participation was relatively high, particularly in maintaining cleanliness and adhering to regulations, but direct involvement in maintenance activities remained moderate. Based on an analysis of ability to pay, the most realistic fee is Rp3,000/person/visit, applied selectively to the Special Sports Zone, the Environmental Education Zone/Greenhouse, and the Children’s Playground Zone. The sustainable management strategy for the Pagutan Green Open Space is divided into three categories based on the three pillars of sustainable development: the economic aspect, through the implementation of user fees as a supplementary funding source; the social aspect, through increased community participation and education; and the environmental and institutional aspects, through enhanced vegetation maintenance and strengthened area management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the partnership pattern among government, private sector, and community in the development of Tambora Geopark and its implications for local economic development. This research employed a qualitative approach using descriptive-analytical methods. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model through open coding, axial coding, and selective coding stages. The findings reveal that the partnership pattern in the development of Tambora Geopark tends to be hierarchical (subordinate partnership), with the government acting as the dominant actor in decision-making processes. The involvement of the private sector and local communities remains limited to program implementation and has not substantially reached planning and policy evaluation stages. Supporting factors include regulatory support and regional government commitment, while inhibiting factors include local social conflicts, limited infrastructure, low human resource capacity, and dependency on government intervention. The economic impacts of the geopark development have been reflected in the growth of MSMEs and tourism services; however, these impacts remain seasonal and have not generated sustainable multiplier effects

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of Local Revenue (PAD), Transfer Funds, and Capital Expenditures on the economic growth rate of regencies and cities in West Nusa Tenggara Province from 2016 to 2024, taking into account regional differences based on the presence of mining and tourism activities. This study uses secondary quantitative data in the form of panel data consisting of time-series and cross-sectional data from 10 districts/cities in West Nusa Tenggara. The analysis method employed is panel data regression using the Common Effect Model (CEM) approach with Stata software. The results indicate that, individually, PAD and Transfer Funds have a positive and significant effect on economic growth, while Capital Expenditures have a negative and significant effect. The dummy variables for mining and tourism regions do not have a significant effect on economic growth. Simultaneously, all independent variables have a significant effect on economic growth; however, the model’s ability to explain variations in economic growth remains relatively low. This finding indicates that the economic growth of regencies/cities in NTB Province is not only driven by fiscal variables, but there is also the potential influence of factors outside the research model.
