Abstract

This study aimed to examine the implementation of ice-breaking actIities in reducing students' boredom during classroom learning. Using a descriptIe qualitatIe approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation at SDN Tanah Kalikedinding II/252. The research subjects included one fourth-grade teacher and six fourth-grade students. The results showed that ice-breaking actIities helped create a more enjoyable learning atmosphere and increased students’ focus and motIation. The teacher implemented various types of ice-breaking, such as motIational claps, educational songs, light games, and simple movement exercises. Students responded positIely, expressing that they felt more enthusiastic and less bored during lessons. However, the teacher encountered challenges in choosing appropriate ice-breaking methods and allocating time effectIely for their application. In conclusion, ice-breaking can be considered an effectIe strategy to reduce boredom and support successful learning in primary education.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a valid, practical, and effective E-LKPD based on guided inquiry using Liveworksheet on the style material of grade IV of SDN Junganyar 2. The type of research used is Research & Development with a 4D development model (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate). The subjects of the study were 27 grade IV students of SDN Junganyar 2 as well as validators who are teaching material experts, learning design experts, and material experts. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, questionnaires, and tests. Data analysis techniques use quantitative analysis in the form of percentages to assess the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the product. The results showed that the E-LKPD obtained a percentage of teaching material validation of 86.66%, learning design validation of 91.66%, and material validation of 89.58% with a very valid category. The practicality of the product was demonstrated through teacher observations of 100% and student observations of 96%. The effectiveness of the product was seen from the classical completeness of students of 100% and student questionnaire responses of 94%. This research was limited to the topic of force and was conducted only at one elementary school, namely SDN Junganyar 2. Therefore, further research is recommended to develop E-LKPD on other materials and involve a wider range of research subjects. Thus, E-LKPD is declared valid, practical, and effective for use in learning sciences on force material.

Abstract

The challenges of 21st-century education require students to possess strong critical thinking skills; however, science learning in schools is often still theoretical and detached from the students' local cultural context. This study aimed to analyze the influence of the Tong-tong music-integrated Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students regarding sound wave material. The research method employed was a quasi-experimental approach with a non-equivalent control group design. Data were collected using validated critical thinking skill test instruments. The results of hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample T-Test showed a significance value of 0.011 (< 0.05), indicating that there was a significant effect of the implementation of the Project Based Learning model integrated with tong-tong music on students’ critical thinking skills. The integration of tong-tong music as a form of local culture in learning helped create a more contextual learning experience and actively engaged students in the learning process.

Abstract

Science learning on the topic of changes in the states of matter in elementary schools requires teaching materials that actively engage students in constructing knowledge through direct observation, experimentation, and concept discovery. However, the student worksheets commonly used in classrooms mainly consist of practice questions and have not optimally facilitated students' active participation in the learning process. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a Discovery Learning-Based Student Worksheet (LKPD) for Grade IV students at UPTD SDN Pejagan 1. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4D model, consisting of the Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate stages. The validity of the developed LKPD was evaluated by teaching material, material, and instructional design experts, while its practicality and effectiveness were assessed through limited and implementation trials involving teachers and students. The validation results demonstrated that the LKPD achieved scores of 83.33% from teaching material experts, 78.84% from material experts, and 95% from instructional design experts, indicating that the product met the validity criteria. Practicality testing showed excellent results, with teacher observation scores increasing from 97% in the limited trial to 100% in the implementation trial, while student observation scores improved from 93% to 95%, reflecting the ease of use and successful implementation of the LKPD in classroom learning. Furthermore, the effectiveness evaluation revealed 100% classical learning mastery in both trials, accompanied by highly positive student responses of 94% and 96%, indicating that the LKPD successfully enhanced student engagement, supported concept discovery, and facilitated meaningful learning experiences. These findings demonstrate that the Discovery Learning-Based LKPD is valid, practical, and effective for supporting science learning on changes in the states of matter in elementary schools.

Abstract

The low involvement of students in science learning and the limited availability of interactive teaching materials are factors that cause suboptimal learning outcomes in the material on changes in the state of matter. This study aims to develop an interactive E-LKPD based on flipbooks with a guided inquiry learning model on the material on changes in the state of matter for grade IV of SDN Sukolilo Barat 01 that meets the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4D model which includes the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests, then analyzed using descriptive statistics in the form of percentages and classical completeness. The results showed that the developed E-LKPD obtained an average validity of 95% (very valid), practicality of 95.5% (very practical), and increased student learning completeness from 40% to 90%. These findings indicate that flipbook-based E-LKPD with a guided inquiry model is able to increase student engagement and learning outcomes, making it suitable for use as digital teaching material in science learning in elementary schools.
