Abstract

Early Breastfeeding Initiation (EBI) is an important step to improve infant health and survival. This study aims to determine the correlation between maternal emotion regulation and husband support on the success of EBI. This study used a quantitative cross-sectional design with a sample of 30 postpartum mothers selected through purposive sampling. The research was conducted in June 2025. The instruments used were tested for validity and reliability, namely the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) and the Postpartum Partner Support Scale (PPSS). Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that most mothers had low emotion regulation (40%) and moderate husband support (56.7%). A total of 53.3% of mothers successfully performed EBI. There was a significant correlation between maternal emotion regulation (p = 0.003) and husband support (p = 0.036) with the success of EBI. Maternal emotion regulation and husband support play an important role in supporting the success of EBI.

Abstract

Abstract: Dysmenorrhea is pain experienced by adolescents during menstruation. Dysmenorrhea is caused by an imbalance of the hormone progesterone in the blood, prostaglandins and stress/psychological factors resulting in the occurrence of dysmenorrhea in some women. Anxiety is an unpleasant feeling that is described by restlessness or tension and abnormal hemodynamic signs as a consequence of sympathetic, parasympathetic and endocrine stimulation. One of the non-pharmacological therapies is by emphasizing the P6 meridian point.. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of acupressure on anxiety in dysmenorrheal adolescents. The type of research used is experimental, namely pre-experimental with a one group pre-post test design. The sample in this study were 18 students who experienced dysmenorrhea. Measurement of anxiety using the STAI questionnaire (Y). The results showed that the average level of anxiety before being given acupressure was 2.28, then given acupressure, it showed that there was a change in the average level of anxiety, which was 1.28. From the results of statistical tests with the Wilcoxon test, the p value value is 0.000. It can be said that the administration of acupressure is effective or has a good influence on reducing anxiety in dysmenorrheal adolescents. Giving acupressure during dysmenorrhea is very useful in overcoming anxiety problems in adolescents. It is recommended that health workers can provide knowledge about acupressure in overcoming anxiety problems during dysmenorrhea. Keywords: Acupressure, Anxiety, Adolescent.

Abstract

Hypertension in pregnancy remains a major global public health problem, contributing significantly to maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. This condition is influenced by multiple risk factors, including maternal age and parity, which play an important role in determining pregnancy outcomes. The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between maternal age and parity and the incidence of hypertension in third-trimester pregnancy at the Maja Community Health Center in 2026. This study used an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of third-trimester pregnant women recorded at the Maja Community Health Center, with a total sampling technique. Data were collected from medical records and analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the Chi-Square test and prevalence ratio (RP). The results showed that 10.7% of respondents experienced hypertension in pregnancy. There was a significant relationship between maternal age and hypertension (p = 0.030; RP = 3.146), indicating that women in high-risk age groups had a higher probability of developing hypertension. A significant relationship was also found between parity and hypertension (p = 0.038; RP = 2.759). In conclusion, both maternal age and parity are significant risk factors for hypertension in pregnancy. These findings highlight the importance of early detection and targeted maternal health interventions to reduce complications during pregnancy.
