Abstract

Mangrove ecosystems play a strategic role in maintaining the balance of coastal environments and supporting the sustainability of community economies. However, in Sugian Village, Sambelia Subdistrict, East Lombok Regency, the existence of mangroves faces threats due to the low level of legal awareness among the community in preserving and protecting the environment. The main problem identified is the limited public understanding of mangrove protection regulations and the low level of active participation in conservation efforts. This community service activity aims to enhance public legal awareness and understanding through educational and participatory legal counseling. The methods used include socialization, interactive discussions, and a local wisdom–based approach. The results of the activity indicate an increase in community understanding of the importance of mangrove protection, both from legal and ecological perspectives. The community has begun to recognize the strategic role of mangroves in preventing coastal abrasion, maintaining biodiversity, and supporting livelihoods. Sustained efforts are needed to ensure long-term behavioral change within the community. Therefore, synergy between the government, academics, and the community is essential to strengthen legal awareness and encourage active participation in mangrove conservation.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has made social media a dominant communication instrument, yet it also harbors serious risks such as the spread of hoaxes, hate speech, and privacy violations. This community service aims to enhance digital literacy and understanding of social media ethics among students (santri) at the Nurul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School as a form of responsibility for young citizens. The method employed is educational counseling, which includes lecture sessions, interactive discussions, and oral evaluations regarding the legal aspects of the Information and Electronic Transactions Law (UU ITE), digital safety, and social responsibility. The results show an increase in the students' awareness of critically filtering information and maintaining a positive digital footprint. With an evaluation success rate reaching >80%, this activity has successfully established the understanding that wise behavior in the virtual world is a concrete manifestation of civic values and an effort to maintain national integrity in the digital era. It is expected that the students will become agents of change who promote a healthy, safe, and productive digital environment.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide legal counseling related to the preparation of the Draft Village Regulation (Raperdes) on Waste Management in Beririjarak Village, Wanasaba District, East Lombok. The counseling is aligned with the provisions of the Regional Regulation of West Nusa Tenggara Province Number 15 of 2019 concerning Waste Management. The problem of waste management in Beririjarak Village has long been an issue that has given rise to pros and cons. The activity was carried out using lecture methods, participatory discussions, and technical assistance in preparing the Raperdes text. The results of the activity show that village officials and the community have gained a better understanding of the legal basis, principles of waste management, and procedures for preparing village regulations in accordance with statutory techniques. The output of the activity is an initial draft of the Raperdes on Waste Management and increased capacity of the village government in formulating legal policies at the local level.
