Abstract

This article examines the concept of justice in polygamy in the Qur'an through a thematic study of Surah an-Nisa' verses 3 and 129. The study is motivated by the fact that justice, as the central condition for the permissibility of polygamy, is often understood narrowly or implemented inconsistently in Muslim family life. Using descriptive qualitative library research, this article analyzes Qur'anic verses, asbab al-nuzul, linguistic meanings, classical and contemporary tafsir, hadith, Islamic legal sources, and relevant scholarly literature. The findings show that Qur'anic justice in polygamy consists of external or material justice, which is obligatory and includes fair distribution of maintenance, residence, time, and treatment, and internal or affective justice, which lies beyond complete human control. Although emotional equality cannot be fully achieved, a husband must control personal inclination so that it does not result in neglect, discrimination, or psychological harm. The integration of verses 3 and 129 indicates that polygamy is not an unrestricted command, but a conditional legal concession directed toward preventing injustice and preserving family harmony.

Abstract

This article analyzes interpersonal communication in maintaining marital harmony as represented in Shineeminka's novel Cinta dalam Diam. The study is based on the view that marriage requires mutual understanding, openness, empathy, and fair conflict management when facing emotional tension, jealousy, misunderstanding, and the presence of a third party. Using qualitative textual analysis, the novel is treated as the primary data source, while books, journal articles, previous studies, Islamic sources, and communication theory are used as secondary data. The findings show that marital harmony in the novel is maintained through five forms of interpersonal communication: opening communication channels, managing power imbalance, recognizing and adjusting to change, respecting individual interests, and resolving conflict fairly. These findings indicate that interpersonal communication is not merely an exchange of messages, but a relational process that builds trust, responsibility, forgiveness, and emotional maturity. The novel also shows that Islamic values such as consultation, patience, justice, and mutual respect strengthen conflict resolution and help restore marital harmony.

Abstract

This article examines the integration of da'wah and economics in the social life of Muslim communities through the financial literacy program of BAZNAS Indonesia. The study is based on the view that da'wah is not limited to verbal religious preaching, but also includes social and economic empowerment to reduce poverty, strengthen financial responsibility, and build community welfare. Using a descriptive qualitative method supported by field and library research, this study analyzes interviews with BAZNAS officers and mustahik, documentation, and relevant literature on Islamic economics, zakat, and sharia financial literacy. The findings show that BAZNAS integrates da'wah and economics through spiritual guidance, financial education, productive zakat, business mentoring, and empowerment programs such as Zmart and micro-enterprise assistance. The program encourages mustahik to record income and expenses, separate business capital from household funds, save gradually, avoid usury-based practices, and view economic activity as part of worship and social responsibility. The main challenges include inconsistent beneficiary commitment, unstable income, and external constraints. The program demonstrates that zakat-based financial literacy can become a strategic form of da'wah bi al-hal that strengthens economic independence and social welfare.

Abstract

This article examines the meaning of polygamy in the Qur’an and its interpretation among women who memorize the Qur’an. The study departs from the social reality that polygamy is legally and religiously recognized under strict conditions, yet it often generates misunderstanding, family conflict, and psychological tension when practiced without justice, transparency, and adequate religious knowledge. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, the research was conducted at STAI DI Al-Hikmah Jakarta from January to March 2024 through observation, interviews, and literature study. The primary data were obtained from two female Qur’an memorizers, while the secondary data were drawn from books, journal articles, laws, tafsir works, and relevant Islamic legal sources. The findings show that the informants interpret polygamy as a permissible practice in Islam, but not as a command or an unrestricted right. Its legitimacy depends on justice, economic capability, mental and spiritual readiness, the consent of the first wife, and urgent or socially responsible reasons. Polygamy that is motivated merely by desire tends to threaten family harmony, whereas polygamy guided by religious ethics and legal procedures may be understood as an exceptional solution.
