Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) is a form of student service to the community aimed at applying academic knowledge to real-life situations. One of the main focuses of the Independent KKN Program at Berkah Rumah Belajar Sari Rejo is fostering children’s ability to read the Qur’an as an effort to improve Qur’anic literacy from an early age. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The students act as facilitators and mentors in the Qur’an learning process through interactive methods such as the Iqra’ method, talaqqi, and educational play-based approaches. The results show a significant improvement in the children’s Qur’an reading ability in terms of fluency, pronunciation of hijaiyah letters, and accuracy of tajwid. In addition, the children’s learning interest increased as a result of the enjoyable learning environment. This program not only enhances the technical ability to read the Qur’an but also strengthens spiritual values, builds children’s character, and fosters closer social relationships among students, the community, and the learning center’s administrators. The success of this activity serves as a tangible example of the strategic role of university students as agents of change in strengthening non-formal religious education within the community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the patterns of students’ learning behavior in the Fiqh subject at MAS Al-Manar Medan. The research focuses on identifying the forms of learning behaviors displayed during the instructional process, the factors influencing these behaviors, and the teacher’s classroom management strategies in creating a conducive learning environment. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that students’ learning behaviors fall into three major categories: active behaviors such as asking questions and participating in discussions, passive behaviors such as listening without engagement, and irrelevant behaviors such as being unfocused or engaging in off-task activities. Factors influencing these behaviors include motivation, teacher’s instructional style, classroom atmosphere, and students’ learning readiness. The study recommends the use of active learning strategies to enhance students’ engagement in the Fiqh learning process.
