Abstract

The rapid expansion of cryptocurrency, particularly Bitcoin, has generated intense debate within Islamic jurisprudence regarding its status as a halal or haram asset in the emerging digital economy. Contemporary Muslim scholars disagree on whether Bitcoin should be classified as gharar (excessive uncertainty) due to its volatility and speculative trading, or considered a new form of ghanimah (legitimate gain) enabled by technological innovation. This debate highlights a fundamental jurisprudential tension between classical fiqh principles and modern financial technologies, raising questions about how Islamic law should adapt to non-physical, decentralized digital assets. This study aims to provide a rigorous fiqh-based analysis of Bitcoin’s legal status by examining its characteristics in light of major Islamic legal maxims, classical texts, and contemporary fatwas. The research evaluates whether Bitcoin satisfies the criteria of mal (property), meets conditions of lawful trade (mu‘?mal?t), and avoids elements of gharar, maysir, and riba. The objective is to offer an evidence-based juridical assessment that can guide Muslim investors, regulators, and Islamic financial institutions. A qualitative juridical method was employed, combining textual analysis of classical fiqh literature, comparative evaluation of contemporary scholarly positions, and examination of economic data related to Bitcoin’s usage, volatility, and transactional patterns. These materials were analyzed using usul al-fiqh principles and the maqasid al-sharia framework. The findings indicate that Bitcoin can be considered halal under specific regulatory and transactional conditions, particularly when used as a medium of exchange or store of value rather than for speculative trading. The study concludes that Bitcoin’s permissibility depends on mitigating gharar and avoiding maysir through responsible usage, transparency, and adherence to sharia-compliant financial ethics.

Abstract

The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into education has transformed the dynamics of online learning, creating opportunities for personalized learning pathways. However, the potential of AI to enhance creative thinking skills among students remains underexplored. This study aims to investigate the role of AI-driven personalized learning systems in fostering creative thinking in online classrooms. A quantitative research design with a quasi-experimental approach was applied, involving 240 university students enrolled in fully online courses. The experimental group used AI-powered adaptive learning platforms, while the control group participated in conventional online learning. Data were collected through creative thinking tests and analyzed using ANCOVA to measure the impact of the intervention. The findings indicate that AI-based personalization significantly improves students’ creative thinking, particularly in generating novel ideas, problem-solving flexibility, and originality of responses. The study concludes that AI can serve as an effective catalyst for promoting creativity in digital learning environments by tailoring content, pace, and feedback to individual learners. This research provides evidence for integrating AI tools in designing student-centered online learning models that emphasize creativity as a 21st-century skill.

Abstract

The exponential growth of genomic data in biomedical informatics has necessitated efficient computational methods to process and analyze vast datasets. Traditional computational systems often fall short in handling the scale and complexity of genomic data. This study investigates the implementation of grid computing as a scalable and cost-effective solution for genomic data processing in biomedical informatics. The research aims to evaluate the feasibility and performance of grid computing in enhancing data throughput, reducing computational latency, and improving resource utilization in genomic data workflows. The study adopts a methodological approach that integrates grid computing frameworks, such as Globus Toolkit and Apache Hadoop, into genomic data processing pipelines. Simulated genomic datasets and real-world case studies were employed to benchmark the grid computing system against conventional computational environments. The results demonstrate significant improvements in processing speed, with an average reduction of 40% in computational time, and a 25% increase in resource efficiency. Additionally, the system showcased robust scalability, handling up to 10 times larger datasets without compromising accuracy or reliability. In conclusion, the findings underscore the potential of grid computing to revolutionize genomic data processing, making it a pivotal technology in biomedical informatics. This study highlights the importance of adopting distributed computing paradigms to address the challenges posed by modern bioinformatics demands.

Abstract

The rise of startups in Indonesia has created a growing demand for innovative financing models that align with Shariah principles. Shariah-compliant venture capital (SCVC) offers a unique opportunity to support startups while adhering to Islamic ethical standards, such as the prohibition of riba (interest) and gharar (uncertainty). This study explores the potential of SCVC as a financing model for startups in Indonesia, focusing on its alignment with Shariah principles, its impact on startup growth, and the challenges faced by stakeholders. The research aims to identify effective strategies for implementing SCVC and propose recommendations for enhancing its role in fostering ethical and sustainable entrepreneurship. Using a mixed-methods approach, this study combines quantitative analysis of startup financing data with qualitative interviews with venture capitalists, Shariah scholars, and startup founders. Data were analyzed to assess the compatibility of SCVC with Shariah principles, its financial performance, and its contribution to startup success. The findings reveal that SCVC can effectively support startups while adhering to Islamic ethics, but challenges such as limited awareness, regulatory gaps, and risk-sharing complexities hinder its widespread adoption. The study concludes that promoting SCVC in Indonesia requires targeted strategies, including education, regulatory reforms, and capacity-building for stakeholders.
