Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital menjadikan media sosial sebagai salah satu sumber informasi utama bagi Generasi Z, termasuk upaya memperoleh pengetahuan yang terkait dengan keuangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh literasi keuangan melalui media sosial terhadap pengelolaan keuangan Generasi Z, serta menguji peran financial self-efficacy sebagai variabel mediasi. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan penyebaran kuesioner kepada Generasi Z yang aktif menggunakan media sosial. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 158 responden dan analisis data dilakukan dengan metode Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan dari literasi keuangan melalui media sosial terhadap financial self-efficacy dan pengelolaan keuangan Generasi Z. Selain itu, financial self-efficacy juga berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pengelolaan keuangan Generasi Z. Dan yang terakhir, Financial Self-Efficacy dapat memediasi pengaruh dari literasi keuangan melalui media sosial terhadap pengelolaan keuangan Generasi Z. Dengan demikian, semakin tinggi literasi keuangan yang diperoleh melalui media sosial, maka semakin tinggi pula tingkat Financial Self-Efficacy dan kemampuan Generasi Z di dalam mengelola keuangannya. The development of digital technology has made social media as one of the main sources of information for Generation Z, including the effort to acquire the knowledge related to finance. This study aimed to examine the effect of financial literacy through social media on Generation Z's financial management, as well as to examine the role of financial self-efficacy as a mediating variable. The method used in this study was quantitative method using questionnaire distributed to Generation Z who are active in using social media as respondents. The sample size used was 158 respondents, and data analysis was performed using Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). This study indicate that there is a positive and significant effect of financial literacy through social media on Financial Self-Efficacy and Generation Z's financial management. In addition, Financial Self-Efficacy was proven to have a positive and significant effect on Generation Z's financial management. Finally, Financial Self-Efficacy has a positive and significant mediating effect of the influence of financial literacy through social media on Generation Z's financial management. Therefore, the higher the financial literacy obtained through social media, the higher the level of Financial Self-Efficacy and the ability of Generation Z to manage their financial matters.
