Strengthening student character is one of the important missions of higher education institutions in producing an intellectual generation that is integrity driven, moderate, and competitive. However, reality shows that the challenges of globalization and the overwhelming flow of information often weaken moral values and spiritual orientation among students. Therefore, a mentoring strategy is needed that is not only academic but also instills moderate Islamic values. This community service activity aims to implement Aswaja (Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah)-based mentoring to strengthen student character within the higher education environment. The method used is Participatory Action Research involving faculty members, students, and campus institutions through Aswaja studies, mentoring, religious practice, and reflective discussions on national values and religious moderation. The subjects of the community service are first year students at IAI Faqih Asy’ari. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and evaluations of the students. The results of the activity showed that Aswaja-based mentoring was able to foster religious, tolerant, disciplined, and socially responsible attitudes among students. In addition, there was an increase in students' awareness of integrating Aswaja values into their academic and social lives. This program can serve as a model for character building in higher education that is relevant to the needs of the times while maintaining the tradition of moderate Islam.
