Kepatuhan pelaksanaan early warning system (EWS) oleh perawat dalam upaya menurunkan morbiditas dan mortalitas pasien di rumah sakit salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh faktor beban kerja. Meningkatnya beban kerja perawat di unit perawatan dapat diakibatkan karena kurangnya tenaga, banyaknya prosedur administratif yang harus diselesaikan, dan beban tugas atau job description yang masih kurang jelas. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan beban kerja perawat dengan kepatuhan pelaksanaan EWS di ruang rawat inap dewasa. Penelitian menggunakan desain korelasi dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 41 responsen. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan time and motion study dan cheklist EWS yang sudah ada petunjuk teknis di Rumah Sakit Islam Yogyakarta PDHI. Analisis data menggunakan uji Kendall’s Tau-b. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan beban kerja perawat mayoritas masuk kategori sedang (61%) dan kepatuhan pelaksanaan EWS mayoritas masuk kategori kurang patuh (58,5%). Ada hubungan yang signifikan antara beban kerja perawat dengan kepatuhan pelaksanaan EWS (p= 0,001). Sedangkan usia (p= 0,491), jenis kelamin (p= 0,612), masa kerja (p= 0,839), dan tingkat pendidikan (p= 0,855) tidak berhubungan dengan kepatuhan pelaksanaan EWS. Manajemen Rumah Sakit dapat merumuskan kebijakan baru terkait penambahan SDM perawat sesuai dengan kapasitas pelayanan dan menyelenggarakan kegiatan pelatihan EWS. The compliance of implementing the early warning system (EWS) by nurses in an effort to reduce morbidity and mortality of patients in hospitals is influenced by factors such as workload. An increase in nurses' workload in the care unit may be caused by a lack of staff, numerous administrative procedures that need to be completed, and unclear job descriptions. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between nurses' workload and compliance with the implementation of EWS in adult inpatient wards. This study used a correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample consisted of 41 respondents. The research instruments used included time and motion study and EWS checklist, which had technical guidelines available at Rumah Sakit Islam Yogyakarta PDHI. Data analysis was performed using Kendall's Tau-b test. The results of the study showed that most nurses' workload was categorized as moderate (61%), and the majority of compliance with EWS implementation was categorized as non-compliant (58.5%). There was a significant relationship between nurses' workload and compliance with EWS implementation (p= 0.001). Minewhile Age (p= 0.491), gender (p= 0.612), years of service (p= 0.839), and education level (p= 0.855) were not found to be related to compliance with EWS implementation. Hospital management may formulate new policies related to increasing the nursing workforce in accordance with service capacity and conduct EWS training activities.
