Abstract

This study aims to determine the production combination that produces maximum net profit in hodgy MSMEs through the application of the Simplex method on a linear program model. A quantitative approach with a case study was carried out on one hodgepodge MSME that sells online and offline. The model is formulated with two decision variables (number of online and offline portions) and four constraints: maximum number of portions (50 portions), service time (max. 450 minutes/day), gross profit (max. IDR 300,000), and the selling price. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The optimization results showed that the optimal solution was achieved in the production of 50 offline portions and 0 online portions, with a maximum net profit of IDR 300,000 per day. These findings confirm that service time efficiency (offline: 5 minutes/portion vs online: 7 minutes/portion) is the dominant determining factor in production decisions, even though online selling prices are higher. Research proves that the Simplex method is effective in helping MSMEs make rational and data-driven production decisions

Abstract

The ability to communicate mathematical ideas orally is crucial for studying mathematics. One way to measure oral communication skills is by presenting an open-ended problem to students. This study aims to illustrate how students solve open-ended issues using oral mathematical communication skills. The methodology is a qualitative descriptive study; the subject of the research is grade VIII junior high school students with low, medium, and high levels of mathematical ability to communicate when working on open-ended problems. From this study, students who have a low level of communication ability have not met all the indicators optimally, because the understanding of symbols and their use is still weak. Students in the medium level that satisfy the markers of mathematical communication, because the notation used is appropriate and consistent and students can provide concise, clear, and thorough explanations. Students with high categories meet all indicators very well, because they are able to use complete and accurate mathematical symbol and students can provide concise, clear, and reflective explanations. Students in lower categories' have not fully satisfied all of the requirements for mathematical communication. The medium-level pupils satisfy the requirements for mathematical communication. Students with high categories meet all mathematical communication indicators very well.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' collaborative abilities through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by manipulative materials on bar diagram materials. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach and involved grade VII students working in several groups. Data was collected through observation, LKPD analysis, and documentation of the learning process. The results showed that PBL with manipulative materials facilitated active student involvement, role sharing, flexibility in discussions, group responsibility, and mutual respect. Interaction between students developed positively and encouraged mathematical discussion, although the quality of data analysis and interpretation still varied between groups. This research makes a conceptual contribution to understanding that the development of collaborative skills is not only determined by the structure of group work, but also by the quality of interaction and the use of manipulative materials in mathematics learning.
