Abstract

Unestablished good relationship between members of the local parliament and constituents in 3rd Constituency, Central Pariaman Subdistrict, Pariaman City had caused difficulty to establish a good collaboration. A good relationship was intended to capture the aspirations of the community in finding solutions to community problems. This research aimed to get a description of the relationships between local parliament members and their constituents, inhibiting factors in relations, and efforts to solve inhibiting factors. The author used a descriptive method with a technique of data collection are semistructured interviews, observation, and documentation. As the results, the shape of relationships between Local parliament members and constituents freely mandate, the inhibiting factor in the relationship because the policy program of local parliament members has tried to make constituents not yet felt by the whole community, the lack of constituent awareness for legislative roles and the multiparty system created some local parliament members. To solve the problems are by political education, increasing the sense of care of local parliament members to their constituents. As the suggestion by adding a service function (serving to their constituent) into legislative function by using social media. Keywords: Relationships, Local Legislative, Constituent

Abstract

Kesulitan dalam mendapatkan akses pelayanan publik menjadi permasalahan utama yang mendasari tuntutan masyarakat di bagian selatan Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan untuk melakukan pemekaran daerah. Sebagaimana diisyaratkan desentralisasi, pemekaran daerah diharapkan dapat memudahkan masyarakat untuk mengakses pelayanan publik yang memadai. Namun hingga saat ini, pemekaran tersebut belum dapat diwujudkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis kesiapan pemekaran “Kabupaten Renah Indojati” dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pemekaran tersebut dengan menggunakan teori pemekaran oleh (Fitrani, Hofman, & Kaiser, 2005) Penulis melakukan wawancara dengan beberapa informan diantaranya Bupati Pesisir Selatan, anggota DPRD Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan, camat pada masing-masing kecamatan dan beberapa tokoh adat serta masyarakat. Selain itu, penulis juga melakukan observasi dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan penelitian tersebut, penulis menemukan beberapa kesimpulan bahwa kesiapan pemekaran “Kabupaten Renah Indojati” belum maksimal karena belum ada Peraturan Pemerintah sebagai aturan taktis operasional yang mengatur mengenai pemekaran daerah. Pemekaran ini dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor pendorong diantaranya faktor sosial, ekonomi dan politik sedangkan faktor budaya dan sejarah menjadi faktor penting yang mempengaruhi pemekaran “Kabupaten Renah Indojati”.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran mengenai partisipasi politik pemilih pemula dan strategi yang dilakukan dalam meningkatkan partisipasi politik pemilih pemula. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif (quasi kualitatif). Adapun metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara, dokumentasi, dan penyebaran angket, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan MDAP (Manual Data Analysis Procedure). Penentuan informan dilakukan secara purposive sampling yaitu KPU Purwakarta dan pemilih pemula. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh bahwa partisipasi politik latent pemilih pemula di Kabupaten Purwakarta masih terbatas pada beberapa kegiatan saja sehingga menyebabkan literasi politik pemilih pemula masih tergolong rendah. Sebagian pemilih pemula hanya tertarik dalam mendiskusikan isu-isu politik saja, meskipun demikian, tingkat partisipasi dalam pemilihan umum sudah tergolong tinggi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi dalam meningkatkan partisipasi politik latent yang berdampak terhadap partisipasi politik manifest pemilih pemula. Strategi dalam meningkatkan partisipasi politik pemilih pemula dapat dilakukan oleh KPU dan partai politik secara rutin dan terjadwal sehingga mampu meningkatkan literasi politik pemilih pemula. Selain itu, pemilih pemula itu sendiri memiliki peranan penting dalam meningkatkan literasi politiknya melalui penggunaan media sosial secara bijak dan membangun jejaring sosial yang berkontribusi positif dalam meningkatkan partisipasi politik manifest di Purwakarta.

Abstract

This study aims to find an overview of the inhibiting factors that cause a low representation of women and the strategies needed to increase women's representation in the Sijunjung Regency. This semi-qualitative research design uses the Manual Data Analysis Procedure (MDAP). The conclusions are that the inhibiting factors come from internal and external factors. Meanwhile, the strategies to solve the inhibiting factors optimize affirmative action through several activities. Therefore, this research dramatically contributes to efforts to increase the representation of women in politics to realize various public policies that are friendly to women.

Abstract

The e-voting-based village head election in Mempawah Regency experienced several obstacles in its implementation, including the lack of readiness of the Village Head Election Committee to supervise the implementation of activities and the limitations of e-voting tools. Besides that, the uneven socialization in the community resulted in many people not understanding the e-voting-based village head election procedures. This study aims to find the strategy for overcoming these problems. This study used a qualitative exploration method, collecting data through interviews and documentation. Abstract

Credibility is a significant aspect of leadership practice that causes followers to respect a leader voluntarily. Government credibility is determined through communication between the government and its people. However, the credibility of the government leadership in Banten Province is a challenge, considering that Banten Province is one of the regions with political dynasties. Therefore, this study describes the function of communication and formulates a communication function model to build the credibility of Banten Province's government leadership. This study used Quasi-Qualitative Design (QQD) with collection through semi-structured interviews, observations, documentation, and questionnaires. We show the implementation of two government communication functions, such as influencing and conveying policies. While the other two parts, namely educating and entertaining, need to be maximised. Meanwhile, the dimensions of leadership credibility, such as integrity, competence, and leadership, have gone well. The government communication model is developed from the Schramm communication model in a circular form to build leadership credibility in Banten Province. In leadership studies, this model can guide increasing credibility, so all formal and informal leadership organisations can adopt this model by formulating leadership-related empirical facts and various references. It is highly applicable to leadership 4.0

Abstract

Today, creating a personal political brand is essential for regional heads to increase electability ahead of regional elections. This research explores how elected millennial regional heads create, develop, and communicate their political brands to increase their electability in West Sumatera, Indonesia. The authors used an exploratory approach and data collection through primary data obtained from semi-structured interviews and surveys using questionnaires. Secondary data includes journals, online newspapers, the official website of the General Elections Commission (KPU), the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), and social media. This research also used a quasi-qualitative design that goes through several stages, starting with exploring the research problem to confirm a new theory. Here, we show that they created personal political brands through the legacy and experiences of families and regional leaders. They also take several stages in building a personal political brand, namely conducting introspective investigations and evaluations through brand mantras offline and online traces. Later, their involvement in several organizations also became a determinant of political branding. The final stage in building this personal political brand is to evaluate the existing brand. Therefore, this research can be a reference for candidates for regional heads and legislators who are building their political brands. Given the limitations of this study, the authors suggest conducting follow-up research from another point of view of the political brand and its political marketing strategy.

Abstract

The Pahae Julu District's Education CSR initiative is a form of collaboration between stakeholders to overcome limited resources to improve education quality, which is still deemed low. This research aims to gain an overview of government collaboration in the education sector through the execution of CSR initiatives, implementation difficulties and efforts to overcome them in Pahae Julu District. This research used a quasi-qualitative research method. Interviews, observation, and documentation were data collection procedures that used data triangulation techniques. Data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drafting were data analysis approaches. According to the findings of this research, the Government Collaboration on the Implementation of the Educational Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) ran smoothly before 2020, but several programs were hampered and temporarily suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. However, the government, corporation, and community will continue to work together to maximize this collaboration for mutual prosperity, particularly in improving educational quality, strengthening commitment by creating program designs and efforts to mobilize common interests, developing a plan for setting standards (indicators of success) to facilitate evaluation, and anticipating inhibiting factors that become obstacles by increasing community participation. Abstract

The high number of money politics in 2019 in South Bangka Regency affects the increasing vulnerability of money politics during the 2024 election period. The General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) in the 2019 general election stated that South Bangka Regency is ranked in the top 20 areas prone to money politics and ranks 18th in Indonesia in the 2024 general election and the second highest money politics in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. This study aims to determine the urgency of political literacy in preventing money politics in the South Bangka Regency and to obtain an overview of efforts to strengthen people's political literacy in preventing money politics. This study used Quasi-Qualitative Design (QQD). Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data was processed using triangulation of data collection techniques. The study shows that the political literacy of the community in the prevention of money politics in South Bangka Regency is still very worrying because the lack of public knowledge related to the government structure, low interest in news and political issues, and low public understanding of money politics and its implications for democracy. Therefore, we suggest cooperation between stakeholders, especially in this digital era, is essential in increasing political literacy and preventing money politics
