Abstract

Indonesia's population, which exceeds 280 million, is not accompanied by a sufficient number of job opportunities. The difficulty in finding employment has led to high unemployment rates. This situation forces the society to become more creative in generating income, one of which is by starting a business. Running a business requires a considerable amount of capital, especially with the rising prices of goods. Murabahah financing is one solution to address this issue. Murabahah is a sale and purchase agreement between a customer and a financial institution, with an agreed-upon margin value. BMT Harapan Ummat Tulungagung is one of the financial institutions offering this service. This study aims to examine the standard assessment of the feasibility of Murabahah financing approval, the factors causing problematic financing, and the resolution stages. The research adopts a phenomenological approach with a field research type using a descriptive qualitative method. The findings reveal that the feasibility assessment of potential customers for financing approval is based on the 5C principle. First, Character is assessed through interviews with the customer and cross-checked with the local community. Second, Collateral refers to the requirement that financing must be secured by collateral such as land or building certificates, civil servant identification (SK ASN), or vehicle registration certificates (BPKB) for motorbikes or cars. Third, Capacity is evaluated from the financial reports of the business, salary slips, employment status, and business location surveys for self-employed customers. Fourth, Condition is assessed from internal factors such as the economic status and the number of dependents, and external factors such as the environmental conditions. Fifth, Capital is evaluated from the physical evidence of the ongoing business and can also be measured by the assets owned. The factors causing problematic Murabahah financing in BMT Harapan Ummat Tulungagung from external factors include: 1) educational expenses; 2) daily living expenses; 3) business disruptions; 4) unpaid receivables; and 5) existing loans from other places. Internal factors include the absence of penalties for problematic financing in the agreement letter, which ultimately leads customers to neglect their obligations. The resolution stages for problematic financing in BMT Harapan Ummat Tulungagung are: 1) contacting the customer through messages and phone calls; 2) visiting the customer's residence, either with or without prior agreement; 3) negotiating installment payments through restructuring or selling the Murabahah collateral to cover the remaining payment obligations; and 4) waiting for the customer to acknowledge the need for payment. The final stage occurs when the customer cannot be contacted or met.

Abstract

Contemporary Islamic economic discourse frequently highlights how Sharia business ethics are integrated into the activities of micro-entrepreneurs. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the marketing mix strategy (4P) among culinary MSMEs in the Tawangsari Village Takjil Market, Tulungagung, and to evaluate its compliance with muamalah principles. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative method with a field research approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with the Head of Tawangsari Village as the policy initiator and a purposive sample of 8 active culinary MSME actors. The research findings indicate that the merchants have implemented the 4P strategy synergistically and in alignment with Sharia rules. The product element meets halalan thayyiban criteria, price-setting reflects the principle of justice (al-adl) without manipulation (tadlis), the place arrangement is based on public interest (maslahah mursalah), and the promotion prioritizes honesty (shiddiq). This paper contributes theoretically to Islamic marketing management literature by integrating the analysis of formal economic protection policies at the village level (free-stall schemes) with the tactical practices of small business actors. In conclusion, enforcing muamalah values in seasonal markets proves crucial for strengthening consumer loyalty while serving as a model for clean, orderly, and sustainable community-based economic incubation.

Abstract

The practice of money exchange before Eid al-Fitr has become a recurring socio-economic phenomenon in Indonesian society, especially through informal exchange services. The increasing public demand for small denomination banknotes has encouraged the growth of exchange services that charge additional fees. From the perspective of fiqh muamalah, this practice remains controversial because it involves the exchange of similar currency with different nominal values, raising concerns regarding contract clarity, transaction objects, and the potential existence of riba. This study aims to analyze the construction of contracts in pre-Eid money exchange practices and evaluate their conformity with the principles of Islamic commercial law. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method using empirical and normative approaches. Data were collected through interviews with three informal money exchange providers in Tulungagung and Blitar and two experts in fiqh muamalah and Islamic financial institutions. The study was strengthened through literature reviews of scientific journals, DSN-MUI fatwas, religious articles from NU and Muhammadiyah, and classical fiqh references. The findings show that legal differences arise from differing views regarding the object of the contract and the position of service fees. Clear separation between exchange transactions and service compensation is essential to ensure compliance with Islamic commercial principles properly.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Segmenting, Targeting, and Positioning (STP) strategies in improving the competitiveness of Rumah Makan Padang Minang Murah from an Islamic perspective. The increasing competition in the culinary business sector requires business actors to implement effective marketing strategies in order to maintain customer loyalty and business sustainability. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques consisting of interviews, observations, and documentation. The primary data source was obtained from the owner of Rumah Makan Padang Minang Murah. The results of the study indicate that the segmentation strategy focuses on middle-to-lower economic consumers, especially workers and students. The targeting strategy is directed toward loyal customers from the worker and student segments by maintaining food quality and providing good service. Meanwhile, the positioning strategy is implemented by building the image of a Padang restaurant with affordable prices, distinctive taste, and friendly service. From an Islamic perspective, the business has implemented Islamic economic principles such as honesty (ṣidq), justice in pricing, halal product assurance, and avoiding fraudulent practices (gharar). The implementation of STP strategies integrated with Islamic values has proven effective in increasing business competitiveness and maintaining customer loyalty. Therefore, Islamic-based marketing strategies can become an important approach in developing sustainable culinary businesses.

Abstract

Partnerships in the agricultural sector are one of the strategies used to increase the productivity and quality of agricultural products, including in the production of hybrid rice seeds. From a sharia economic perspective, partnership practices need to be implemented based on the principles of justice, transparency, and cooperation in accordance with sharia contracts. This study aims to analyze the partnership model for rice seed production at PT Persada Agro Sejati and examine the implementation of syirkah al-'inān in these collaborative practices from a sharia economic perspective. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results show that the partnership model implemented by PT Persada Agro Sejati has characteristics close to the syirkah al-'inān contract because there are contributions of capital, production facilities, labor, and profit sharing based on an agreement between the company and farmers. This partnership practice generally reflects the principles of cooperation in sharia economics. However, there are still several aspects that need attention, especially regarding the risk-sharing mechanism, and the balance of bargaining power between the company and farmers. Therefore, strengthening the contractual aspects and clarity of the division of responsibilities is necessary so that partnership practices can be more in line with Islamic economic principles.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven major changes in the global financial system, including in the Islamic economic sector through the emergence of financial technology (fintech). This phenomenon presents opportunities for increased efficiency and financial inclusion, but also raises the need for integration that aligns with Islamic principles. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of Islamic economic transformation in the digital era, identify forms of fintech integration within the Islamic economic system, explain the role of maqāṣid al-sharī'ah as an evaluative framework, and formulate a conceptual model of fintech integration based on Islamic values. The study uses a qualitative approach based on library research, with an integrative literature review. Data were obtained from scientific journals, academic books, policy documents, and other relevant publications, then analyzed using content analysis and thematic analysis. The results show that fintech integration in the Islamic economy is developing through peer-to-peer financing services, digital payments, and Islamic crowdfunding that adapt contracts such as mudhārabah, musyārakah, murābaḥah, and wakālah. Other findings indicate that the maqāṣid al-sharī'ah (Islamic principles) play a crucial role in assessing the security, fairness, transparency, and social welfare of digital innovation. This study concludes that the transformation of the Islamic economy will be more sustainable if fintech is developed through a synergy between technology, regulation, governance, and maqāṣid al-sharī'ah orientation, thus creating a modern, inclusive, and valuable digital financial ecosystem.
