Abstract

This study aims to describe the leadership strategy of the head of administration in supporting administrative services at SMA Negeri 11 Muaro Jambi. The research focuses on leadership strategies, the administrative service process, obstacles encountered, and efforts to improve service quality. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation with informants consisting of the head of administration, administrative staff, principals, teachers, and students. The results indicate that leadership strategies are implemented through planning, implementation, and evaluation stages, supported by a clear division of tasks, the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the use of information technology. Administrative services are running quite well, although there are still challenges such as limited human resources, infrastructure, and technical barriers. Efforts undertaken include optimizing the division of tasks, improving coordination, and developing staff competencies. Thus, leadership strategies play a crucial role in improving the effectiveness of administrative services.

This study aims to analyze teachers' managerial practices in creating a positive classroom climate to achieve student well-being at SMAN 11 Muaro Jambi. This research uses qualitative research methods with a case study approach. Data collection was conducted thru interviews with subject teachers, guidance and counseling teachers, and students, as well as thru observation and documentation. The research results show that the teacher's managerial practices are carried out thru several stages, namely (1) systematic lesson planning and the formulation of class rules agreements with students. (2) organization thru classroom layout arrangements, seating rotations, and the formation of study groups. (3) lesson implementation, where the teacher applies various teaching media and builds positive interpersonal relationships with students. (4) supervision and evaluation, where the teacher conducts active monitoring and learning reflection. The positive classroom climate built thru the teachers' managerial practices has implications for students' well-being, both psychologically, emotionally, socially, and academically. The success of teachers' managerial practices is supported by school policies, positive interpersonal relationships between teachers and students, teacher professionalism, and collaboration among various parties. As for the inhibiting factors, they include differences in student character and motivation, limitations in facilities and infrastructure, limited time for BK services, and the lack of openness among some students.

Abstract

Objective: Students’ reading interest in higher education remains a concern, despite the availability of various digital facilities and easier access to technology. This study aims to determine the influence of digital literacy and academic technology access on students’ reading interest at the Library of Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Jambi. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method with a causal associative design. The population consisted of 4,885 sixth- and eighth-semester students, with a sample of 370 students selected through simple random sampling using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0 through outer model and inner model testing. The results showed that digital literacy had a positive and significant effect on students’ reading interest, with a t-statistic value of 5.440 and a p-value of 0.000. Academic technology access also had a positive and significant effect on students’ reading interest, with a t-statistic value of 3.457 and a p-value of 0.001. Simultaneously, digital literacy and academic technology access influenced students’ reading interest with an R-Square value of 0.479, indicating that both variables explained 47.9% of students’ reading interest, while the remaining 52.1% was influenced by other factors outside this study.
