Abstract

Speaking skills are the capabilities that enable efficient communication. They enable us to communicate verbally and in a way that is understandable to the listener. The objectives of this research were to find out the adult learners challenges in speaking and to investigate the teacher’s strategies to help students in speaking. Six adult students (four women and two men), all between the ages of 27 and 35 took part in this study using a qualitative case study approach. A semi-structured interview were employed as the data collection tools to examine the perspectives of the participants on the challenges they faced. Besides that, the researcher also done an observation to observe the teacher strategies in improving and helping students to speak. The findings indicated that adult learners face two difficulties: linguistic issues (pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary), and psychological issues (anxiety, lack of confidence, and lack of motivation) which vocabulary and pronunciation pose the greatest challenges while speaking. The second insight relates to the teacher's methods for enhancing and assisting his students' English-speaking abilities. The teacher employs three techniques: providing motivation, role playing, and storytelling.

Abstract

Transformasi pendidikan pada era digital menuntut guru mengembangkan pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan keterampilan abad ke-21 melalui pemanfaatan teknologi secara efektif. Salah satu inovasi yang berkembang adalah penerapan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) yang dipadukan dengan teknologi kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence/AI). Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis implementasi model pembelajaran berbasis proyek berbantuan teknologi kecerdasan buatan dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas VI SD PAB 34 Patumbak. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experiment melalui Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas siswa kelas VI yang dibagi menjadi kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes hasil belajar, lembar observasi aktivitas pembelajaran, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji independent sample t-test, serta perhitungan N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Project Based Learning berbantuan AI mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa secara signifikan dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional. Selain meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif, penggunaan teknologi AI juga mendorong kreativitas, kolaborasi, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan motivasi belajar siswa selama proses penyelesaian proyek. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi kecerdasan buatan dalam pembelajaran berbasis proyek menjadi alternatif inovatif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah dasar.
