Abstract

Hypertension disorders in pregnancy are serious complications that increase the risk of adverse perinatal outcomes. The purpose of this systematic review is to analyze scientific evidence regarding the role of Cerebroplacental Ratio (CPR) measured through Doppler ultrasound in predicting pregnancy outcomes in pregnant women with hypertension. This study was conducted as a systematic literature review based on the PRISMA guidelines, with nine relevant studies analyzed narratively from various databases. The results of the analysis showed that CPR was consistently proven to be a strong predictor of various adverse perinatal outcomes, including increased need for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) care, low Apgar scores, and fetal growth restriction. Several studies also confirmed that CPR has superior predictive value compared to single Doppler indices, although variability in the cut-off values used in various studies was found. CPR is an excellent tool to assist in monitoring pregnancies with hypertension, but standardization of cut-off values is needed to maximize its universal clinical utility.
